Byrne has certainly led a fascinating life, which he shares in part through his story about Tula Hatti and his efforts to preserve the land that houses this great elephant. I learned quite a bit about Nepal and enjoyed the contrast of a developing nation in the 90s and it’s current reality: much more tourism, accessibility, and modernity compared to 30 years ago.
