What can I say? I was hooked by the actor hero. Yes, I'm a sucker for stories with actors/actresses/singers etc in them. This is my first read by author Michele Shriver. Well, I've gone and discovered a new author to add to my watch list for sure! I very much enjoyed Finding Forever.

Finding Forever is a second chance story. Once upon a very different lifetime ago, Jake and Jordan knew each other. Well, kind of anyway. They had a bit of a short lived history, but could never fully forget the other. Now, fate brings them together as Jake's movie takes him to the little town Jordan just happens to have settled down in. And he's not about to leave without looking her up.

Jordan has cleaned up her life a lot. She doesn't want to lose herself in her past again, and that includes Jake. But he's a bit stubborn (And sexy), and he's not about to let Jordan push him away without at least giving them a chance.

The romance is slow building, but they both are enjoying the time they spend together. Not everything is perfect, as Jake's past catches up with him, and Jordan hasn't quite yet laid some of her ghosts to rest.

This is a well written romance with plenty of laughs and emotional moments. I love Jordan's friends, even though they can be a bit of pushovers, they have her best interest at heart. And Jake? Well, he's sweet, loving and knows exactly what he wants. He's a man that doesn't give up and gives his all. If you're looking for a great second chance story full of romance, I definitely suggest Finding Forever.

When an author claims they write real life women’s fiction, as a reader, I never know what to expect. Real life can look different for so many people. But I’ve read a couple of Michele Shriver’s books, and I’m thoroughly impressed each time by the way she incorporates real life issues. She doesn’t shy away from what real life looks like.

Finding Forever catches up with Jordan Priestley, an attorney who graduated from Law School in Grande Valley, Texas.

Jordan had dreams of making it big in Hollywood as an entertainment attorney and was fast on her way, until life threw a few curveballs. Shriver address addiction, relationships (or lack of), and loss in her back story.

Finding Forever begins as Jordan has found a way to pick herself back up, remove herself from the place she's most vulnerable, and finally feels comfortable in her own skin. That is until actor Jake Morrison, a former client, lands in Grande Valley and right smack in the middle of Jordan’s happy, quiet existence.

He brings with him a strong will and a determination not to give up on Jordan, no matter how broken she is.

Let the steam begin!

The author has done a fabulous job. The romance is spot on, the storyline is solid, and the characters are realistic and strong. Well done, Michele!

After reading and loving all of Shriver’s Women’s Fiction books, I was wowed by her first romance. A great read that I highly recommend! Jordan is an awesome heroine. I love her sense of humor and her views on life. She comes with a whole host of problems in her history and things she’s striving to overcome. An alcoholic in recovery and a successful lawyer, she left the Hollywood party lifestyle behind her when she moved to Texas.

Enter Jake, a love from her past who can ultimately destroy everything Jordan has worked for. I have to say, I loved Jake. Maybe he doesn’t make the best choices each time or know the right thing to do, but the care he has for Jordan comes through the page. I really hoped he could break through the defenses she had put up to protect herself. Of course, the past is never content to stay the past, and these two will have a lot to work through if they are ever going to find their forever. A romance with great characters, a dose of humor, but also deals with real issues and isn’t all fluff. Pick this one up!

This is a story of second chances and recovery. Jordan Priestley made quite a mess out of her life after law school when she went to Hollywood to be an entertainment lawyer. Between her mother's long illness and her own insecurities with regard to men, she fell into alcoholism and a disastrous affair with one of her clients, Jake Morrison.

Years later, Jordan is in Texas and well into recovery, although the danger of alcohol looms right at the edge. Enter Jake Morrison. He is filming in the border town she lives in and wants to rekindle a relationship.

Jordan is doubtful she can survive the heartaches of a relationship with Jake and not have to resort to alcohol. However Jake is kind, considerate and oh, so sweet. As Jordan's feelings for Jake grows, she finds strength in herself to confront obstacles.

I love how she almost sank, but had the courage to risk love again, but always asking for help to cope with the jaws of alcohol. This is a realistic story of mature love and how people grow and overcome the mistakes of their youth. I love the twist at the end too!

"Finding Forever" by talented Author Michele Shriver grabbed my attention right from the "get go". It is both well-written and easy to read and chock full of potential romance and personal challenges. Jake Morrison, an up-and-coming actor has arrived in town to shoot a movie, "Border Cowboys" that he is starring in about smuggling at the Mexican/US border. He is intrigued by the location in Grande Valley Texas, as he knows Jordan now lives there. She is a hot lawyer from his past and he hasn't seen her since she left the Hollywood scene several years earlier. When he was one of her celebrity clients, they had a steamy affair that has been hard to forget. Jake is eager to look her up, however, this time he has a totally different agenda. At thirty four years old, he is no longer looking for a fling...while Jordan at thirty eight has long ago given up the idea of "finding forever". The key question is...can they find true love at this late date and put all the negative history of their past lives behind them?

Jake is definitely ready to turn over a new leaf in his life and woo Jordan like never before...but there are a few hurdles to overcome. Jordan's noncommittal arrangement with her friend Carl, a mutually agreed upon friend with benefits plan, along with the skeleton in her closet to do with her drinking problem are sure to complicate her future with Jake, On the other hand, Jake's past with Macy is nagging away in the background. Jordon's history of casual sex and her low self-esteem continue to haunt her and add to her negative self-image. Any one of these variables might very well threaten his romantic endeavors and possible future with Jordan who is fast becoming vulnerable yet very captivated by this new Jake.

How does the offer of a coveted leading role starring opposite Kate Hudson in Santa Lucia factor into his future decisions? Will Macy turn up at the most inopportune time and destroy all hope for Jake and Jordon? So many problems that need to be addressed...on top of the pressure of their very diverse and demanding careers niggling away at their already complex relationship. With the many romantic twists and turns of this captivating novel...it is sure to capture the attention and intrigue of many a reader. Very enjoyable indeed...you won't want to miss a word of this enticing fictional romantic novel!

Sometimes when we leave our past behind us it catches up with us and gives us a second chance that we never knew we wanted.

Jake Morrison, an actor, has never forgotten the one that got away from him, Jordan Priestley. When a movie brings him to the small town she is living in, he jumps on the chance to see her again.

Jordan Priestley left California behind her and the lifestyle she was leading there that led her to drinking and partying that spiraled out of control. She has no interest in seeing Jake again as it brings back a past that she wishes to leave behind her.

As Jake and Jordan get to know each other they realize how much they care about each other, yet both have past relationships that seem to interfere with their ability to move on together. Will they be able to get it together and figure out what they need?

I love that Jordan is a successful lawyer yet is not perfect and works hard at staying sober. She has insecurities that all of us can relate to which makes her a wonderful character. Jake is so dedicated to Jordan and it is wonderful to see how much work he puts into making her happy!
