‘The Return of Silvano’ is a winner!

‘Inventor Tarskin: The Return of Silvano’ by Lorelei Balansa is a spirited adventure novel combining action, mystery and delightful characters. Balansa’s story thrusts young adult readers into a compelling world of archaeological exploration, courage and the perseverance to face challenges. The book has numerous twists and turns, offering an exhilarating expedition into a perilous world that tests the strength of friendship

Tarskin and Kitvie face new challenges worldwide as they evade Silvano and his crew, striving to halt impending madness. But their journey turns bleak when they uncover a mystery about a catastrophic event. The sense of urgency intensifies as they learn of a looming disaster, prompting a race against time. Teaming up with agents, Tarskin and Kitvie strive to avert the apocalypse and join a guild dear to Tarskin’s heart. However, a new villainess, Kraita, emerges, posing a threat to both the guild’s mission and the lives of its archaeologists by turning them into wild ‘humanimals‘.

Balansa skillfully constructs a compelling narrative in which Kitvie, Tarskin and Saphira navigate a perilous world rife with Enders operatives, high-stakes pursuits. Each character (like Kitvie’s resilience and Saphira’s bravery) is distinct and relatable. The dialogue between Tarskin and Kitvie demonstrates their camaraderie and makes their fantastical world a delight. Despite her sometimes troublesome actions, Tarskin’s unwavering support for Kitvie adds a certain depth.

The relentless pace moves readers through extreme chase scenes, exciting evasions and vibrant character interactions. Balansa adeptly intertwines mystery and intrigue, particularly surrounding Kitvie’s amnesia and psychic abilities. The novel’s strength lies in its well-developed characters and evolving relationships, fostering reader connections to their struggles and triumphs. While the abundance of events on each page may be overwhelming, Balansa’s vivid descriptions vividly depict settings, immersing readers in unsettling urban streets or dense, eerie jungles. The perfect blend of humour and adventure steals the show, creating a captivating tale combining science fiction elements with a sense of inevitable doom.

My only criticism is that the text has far too many exclamation marks for my liking (particularly direct speech). Besides that, ‘The Return of Silvano’ is a winner!

"Inventor Tarskin: The Return of Silvano" was a run book to pick up! It is such a cool idea and I you can really appreciate the whimsical and creative world Lorelei Balansa crafted in this series. The characters are very relatable and expressive, you feel like you’re right there with them having the same adventures! The life and experiences of Tarskin and Kitvle are shared in great detail throughout the book. When new characters are introduced, Balansa used the same care and dedication to have the reader connect with them as well. There was a good balance of action and humor and intrigue packed into just 273 pages, so make sure to spend some time reading this book, settle into it and don’t miss a thing! I can appreciate when an artist crafts and entire world, characters, personalities and adventures tailor-made for their creation all in an easily digestible book. It’s something our creative world needs more of!

This book is about the adventures of a couple of humanoid foxes named Tarskin and Kitvie. The author’s style is to show who the character’s are through their dialogue and behavior. I loved having so much dialogue because this really moved the story along. I also like that the two foxes had emotional and physical difficulties. It made them feel human and realistic to me. I wish the author had gone into the character’s thoughts more, though. The author tended to describe a lot of action in a this happened and then this happened way. I didn’t mind the lack of description, but I would have liked to go more into the character’s heads for immersion purposes. The storyline was pretty good. There was enough mystery to keep me turning pages. Also, the flaws of the characters kept me worried about them in a good way. Overall, I think most adults will enjoy this book, but I think it will me most popular with teens and late preteens. I recommend this book for those who like action and adventure.

"Inventor Tarskin: The Return of Silvano", is the third book in the series of "Inventor Tarskin" and offers a story with a pleasant narrative and with very good descriptions that immerse the reader in the universe created by Lorelei Balansa, her narrative not only allows us to see the environment where the events take place, it also allows us to feel varied emotions as she shows us the different situations that our beloved protagonists must overcome, having moments with a lot of tension and others in which the author steals us a smile, the balance between both feelings makes this book a good choice for lovers of adventures, action, humor and mysteries.

I personally loved the friendship between Tarskin and Kitvie, the development that both characters had in this chapter of their story and the interaction with their comrades. I will definitely read the other books in the series.

Very Fun!

This book was capitaving and a lot fun! It takes you a different with a lot of interesting creatures. The description of the places are beautiful and the characters are well written. It is has a ton of action and some romance. What's not to love. The only thing is I wish the book had more chapters and Kindle version is oddly formated but not enough to detract from how enjoyale the book is. I think the author should redo the cover and description of the book to represent the book. All in all I thought it was a great book and will be eagarly awaiting the author's next book.

Inventor Tarskin: The Return of Silvano by Lorelei Balansa is a highly dynamic, joyous, and adventure-packed story that unfolds with numerous twists and turns. At times, the abundance of events on each page can be overwhelming. This unique narrative style, although unfamiliar to me, was quite interesting.

The strong friendship between Tarskin and Kitvie is a central highlight. Tarskin consistently supports Kitvie, willing to go through fire and water for his friend, even when the troubles they face are, at times, caused by her own actions.

However, there were moments when it was challenging to comprehend why Kitvie was so careless about her condition. I felt she should have taken a break to figure out the cause of her fainting spells. Alternatively, Tarskin could have insisted that she stop seeking adventures and focus on finding a cure for her ailment.

The book covers, along with those of the entire series, are captivating. I am intrigued to explore other stories in the series and curious to discover if every 2nd or 3rd sentence also concludes with an exclamation mark)
