This Rookie Biographies has an introduction to captivate and give purpose to the reader. It provides enough detail to understand the way of life and world situation of the times Florence Nightingale lived in. It offers the reader a variety of text features including Table of Contents, maps, information boxes, bolded words, pictures with captions, a timeline and glossary to name a few. It also includes a poem about Florence Nightingale and practice suggestions on how readers can be more like her under the title "You Can Make a Difference". Each spread contains pictures, and text between 4-6 sentences long, in large font to make it easier to read.

This is a biography of Florence Nightingale. She was a rich girl from Italy who moved to England. She grew up there. She told her parents she wanted to become a nurse. After studying for four month in Germany, Florence became a nurse. Her way as a nurse was to keep everything clean and spotless so no germs would be spread to other patients. She help during the Turkey war and wrote books about nursing. She even founded several schools of nursing. Florence die at the age of 90 years old.

This is a book about a rich little girl who wants to be a nurse. So her parents put her in med school. When she is a nurse she taught people how to be clean. During a war they needed nurses to help so it was Florence's queue.I recommend this book to people who like saving life's.
