You do not need to be scientifically trained or an accomplished cook to make cheese at home. The information here covers every aspect of cheesemaking at home, including the tools and equipment needed and basic recipes and advice on setting up a small cheese making business. Rita Ash shows just how simple it is to make cheese, and how, with a little bit of care and attention, anyone can produce delicious cheeses at home.
Great book. This is a short read with a fun introductory history of cheesemaking. I enjoyed the story and the instructions in equal measures. The author also takes time to explain the process, tools a cheesemaker would need, recipes, and even how one may go about selling their product. I have scrounged through my house and ordered what I don't have. Once I have it all in place, this book has given me the confidence to try my hand at the ancient art of crafting cheeses.
Based on over forty years of cheese making experience, Ash has written a simple book on the process of making cheese at home. She discusses the types, equipment, and procedures for a variety of cheeses. It is easy to read and understand.
