This is a collection of many different types of true angel stories from a variety of people. Although most of the incidents were told by adults, some children also related their encounters. These reports took place in many different parts of the world.

When considering angels, what first comes to mind is the Bible verse, “be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares”–Hebrews 13:2.

Because of that, my expectation for this book was that people would relate experiences they had in time of need, and someone came to their rescue. Often when turning around to thank them, they discovered their helper seemed to have disappeared into thin air. That caused them to suddenly realize their “good Samaritan” was actually an angel in human form. These were the type of stories I anticipated, and there were a few like that.

However, there were angel stories that went in different directions. Some people related experiences of seeing angels in worship settings. Others shared that the angels they saw were not in human form, but appeared without disguise. These reports said that angelic appearances varied. Some were gigantic, some had wings, but some did not, most of the time, the angels were male, but not always.

There were angels that God used to bring healing to people. Other people related that God allowed them to command angels to help them. Still others said that while they could see the angels, people with them could not. However, some could feel the angels’ presence, or see some of the results of what they were doing. The variety of angelic experiences seem as diverse as there are types of people.

All of these stories have definitely caused me to ponder what I believe about angels. I certainly learned that angelic experiences can take place in a variety of ways. Ultimately, these reports have to be held up to what the Bible says, and, of course, angels are messengers from God, and are not to be worshiped. I would have liked a few more of the type of stories that I had expected. This was an interesting compilation, and recommend this 4-star book to anyone wants to explore the subject of angelic encounters.

The publisher has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book through Booketeria and Charisma House Publishing for the purpose of review. All opinions expressed are my own, and I have not been compensated in any other manner.

After gaining knowledge about angels, I have come to realize that there are both good and evil ones. There are military angels who appear medieval and tall and are impossible to mess with, and then there are messenger angels, who are quite interesting. Some of them look strange, like the circular, transparent one with many eyes, or the large one that watches over us with a foot as big as the earth. However, there are those who don't appreciate the messenger angels delivering messages to us. But when we speak up and declare our identity in Christ, they must relent. There are many other types of angels as well, and once you are aware of them, you can no longer ignore the spiritual realm.

Far Out

I may just not be enlightened enough but when I read about the Angel that managed the treasury department in heaven...I decided I d had enough of this book. Then there was the part about the fallen angels who had taken over grids in the city??? Managed around 25% before I stopped. I thought Joan Webster Andersons books about angels were wonderful and inspiring for me. This ...not so much.

"The Bible says in Psalm 103 that the angels hearken to the voice of His word. So when I speak God's Word, when it's annointed and the will of God — whether as a prophetic word or by quoting the written Word inna revelatory moment — an angel hears it as if God said it and responds to it to carry out and order.
The angels hear it and respond because they can't tell the difference between my voice and God's voice when His Word is in booth. It's a beautiful relationship".

"The angels want you to turn toward heaven. They want you to accept Jesus as your Lord. When you become an heir of salvation, the angels of heaven are commissioned by God Himself to guard, protect, assist, and bless you with all that [God in] heaven has planned for you." Jonathan Nixon

In reviewing this book on angel stories, I feel I need to give more information on my worldview than I normally do. I look at the world from a Christian worldview. That means I look at it through the Bible lens. The Bible says that once we have accepted Christ as God's gift of salvation, our hearts are transformed and we become a new creation.

God teaches in the Bible that His people are like a body. It is comprised of believers all over the world, with Christ Jesus as its head. That means there is plenty of room for cultural differences within the body of Christ in living our daily lives and worshiping God once the foundation is laid. Cultural differences not only refer to different nationalities, but also differences in regional history, lifestyles and preferences.

One of the first things I noticed about the stories in this book is that they were written by people like you and me. They are not intellectuals writing a thesis. All the stories were written in the vernacular. They may have been lightly edited, but have retained their down home feel. It's about people who share some remarkable experiences and sometimes their interpretation of the events.

Angel Stories has two different types of stories about angels. The first kind was more of what I expected to read--stories of mysterious appearances that are difficult to explain from a human perspective. One person shared how a stranger somehow directed her to where she parked her car in a huge lot at an international airport. Another story told of a stranger who restored missing airline tickets in a foreign country. I always enjoy angelic stories like this.

The second type of story in this book are what I call teaching stories. They relate some unusual experiences but also teach a concept. There are more teaching stories than traditional stories. In addition, these stories are immersed in a culture that uses such phrases as: In the glory; releasing or receiving a prophetic word; opening our spiritual senses; mass deliverance; and calling down His kingdom. For the most part, I am a little unfamiliar with this culture so the above phrases made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I believe persons who connect with an experiential and emotional writing style will enjoy this book more than those who prefer an intellectual study of angels. However, I am certain many readers will enjoy the experiences shared by the book's writers.

Laying cultural differences aside, my only reservation about the stories in this book is that they may encourage some readers to be distracted by angels to the point of neglecting the need for salvation through Jesus Christ and spiritual growth toward maturity through the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Great short stories of people experience with the angelic. A must read for those on the journey of discovery of the roles of angels.

What I enjoyed in this book was that you could tell that these encounters had by the people writing them were true. I sensed real excitement in my spirit when reading them. I have learned over the last year or so is that when my spirit jumps for joy I know that what I am hearing or reading is God inspired. I have shared a few of these stories with some friends who too have had this same check in their spirits. I recommend this book if you are on a journey of discovery about angels and their roles this is the book for you.

Inspires, Encourages, and Blesses

The stories are divinely wonderful. The worship of Yeshua is clearly seen, as is the intense love our Heavenly Creator has for us. Angels in the real world are so different from the Hollywood portrayal.

My spirituaI encounters have been amped up. Yes! I enjoyed the book even more than the DVD because I can highlight and bookmark precious morsels and tidbits Holy Spirit pours into us. He's no longer in the tomb. He has risen!
