If people like Malala can come out of Pakistan, all is not yet lost in that benighted country. The result of the clash between her passion in advocating such a noble cause and the forces of darkness embodied in the Taliban was to almost martyr her before her time. She is a child prodigy, and her autobiography rings true. She is objective, clear, and evenhanded in describing a society (of which she is a part) so charged with religious fervor and conflict.
Moreover, Malala has the character and the wisdom to push an issue that is greatly upsetting in a deeply patriarchal the right of every girl and woman to an education. Why should this be? Because it is profoundly liberating to that portion of the population that happens to be women and therefore threatening to those who have power over them. These oppressors feared education's liberating influence for women and girls, causing them to strike out against an innocent and wholesome girl in the form of Malala.

"I am Malala" is a great non-fiction book that relates to war/real world events. It is well written and uses stories and factual information to tell people about her life and what she went through as a child fighting against the Taliban. It is a great informational book to read about if you want to know what people in Afghanistan are going though.
I am malala (4/5): - Didnt never really understand why malala was famous and other 2 girls who were shot was not. May be because of her past interviews? Her father though has done a commendable job. - book was good about swat, Pakistan, major events in 20s. Taliban, Afghanistan, Pakistan history - leaders. PMs. Dictatorship! -Her father is highly respectable. Has done so much for his school, education and children. He is the one who should be getting prize for such thoughts and actions. -Peshawar attack was horrifying! Torture on women by Taliban- cant go outside without man, cant be seen with another man outside blood relation, whipped when seen, always wearing loose burqa. - It was extremely sad when millions of people had to leave swat in such conditions and then there were refugee camps, staying in places for long time away from home. Felt really lucky to be the part of India. - In the end, she was explaining her operations. Where she explained how it is so lucky to have full body parts and one only realizes the importance when something is missing. Her skull was missing, her left ear. Touching lines! - she loved benazir bhutto. Hated major Zia and parvez Musharraf. Made some fun of George bush as well. -Pakistanis hate Americans more than Indians for their unknown attacks in Pakistan province. - Raymond allen Davis incident- who got out in millions .
