Saints Like Him

Rate this book
From ex-con to self-made millionaire, there’s no challenge too tough for Cash Sweeney to conquer. So why has he spent twelve years pining for his best friend instead of doing something about it? Because losing Nick would be like existing with half of his heart. Is it better to settle for what he can have or battle for what he wants?

Banged up and burned out, FBI Agent Nick Scott arrives at Redemption Ridge with a trunkful of luggage and a yearning heart. Cash is easy to love but hard to read, and Nick fears his epiphany has come too late. Does he tuck his tail and run or fight for the man who’s become his home?

Tender gestures and heartfelt conversations lead to thrilling revelations neither man can ignore. No more what-ifs or maybes. Cash and Nick are all in. And they’ll need each other more than ever when a devious enemy emerges from the shadows to put their promising future at risk. With the stakes so high, will the guys double down or fold to pressure?

Saints Like Him is book three in the Redemption Ridge series. Though each story features a different couple, reading the series in order is essential. Saints Like Him contains mature themes and is intended for adults.

Content Warning: homophobia, abuse, and conversion therapy are briefly discussed in this book, though no graphic descriptions are used.

The cover for this book is a perfect representation of the swoony and intimate story that appears within its pages.

Aimee has crafted such a gorgeous romance here between two people I've been dying to get the background of since the series started.

We don't get to know everything, but we do get an insight into their love story which has been 12 years in the making, strangely the same age difference between the younger FBI agent and our brilliant ranch owner and second chance giver, once Nick shows up at the ranch unexpected and injured.

It's incredibly moving to see him struggling with how the life he's always thought he wanted has turned out to not be his future, and his libido has been flagging as his stresses over wanting to quit the FBI grow.

It's also beautiful to see how Cash just accepts him as he is, welcomes him "home" and begins to show him just how much freer his life can be after they've let loose their fears and confessed their love.

And ooooh boy do they make up for the years when they've danced around their feelings and just been "friends".

Aimee delivers some seriously intimate and gorgeously emotional scenes between them which also burn up the pages with the decade and more of pent-up sexual tension they've got stored up.

I loved how each moment comes for a specific purpose, it's either as a comfort, or it's used to pull back one or the other out of a negative mindset that's sending them into a spiral of worry. It's not always full on either, sometimes it's the intimacy of sitting and cuddling, exchanging lazy kisses and planning a future.

Of course, we all know something's going to come and knock them off kilter and that takes the form of the same cultish group that's been harassing the ranch throughout the series.

No spoilers here, but things come to a head in a way I wasn't expecting but which made perfect sense to me and helped bring a number of threads together.

As I've said with the other books, I appreciate that we're not bashed over the head with future couples.

Instead we get gentle hints as to potential pairings and I'm super pleased to see we're getting books about the four people I've been hoping to see get together- in two different relationships, not as a foursome!

Up next is going to be Tyler and Owen's best friends to lovers and I'm looking forward to that a lot.

The fifth book will give me my second most eagerly awaited character after Cash himself when we get Sheriff Seth Burke's HEA. I'll leave you to find out who that will hopefully be with when you read this one!

There's a potential for a sixth book, but I'm not sure if Aimee plans for that one yet. I think it would be an interesting, and emotionally affecting, story to tell. If she does, I'll be here for it.

#ARC kindly received from the author via GRR Tours. I am voluntarily leaving a review.

4 Loved it stars!! ❤️❤️ Finally we get Cash and Nick’s story. We readers waited for a few months, but they had waited 12 years to go from BFFs to lovers. 🥰 It was a sweet, steamy, mature romance with a bit of suspense thrown in (which was part of an ongoing story from the previous books)
Highly recommended to all fans of this and any other series by ANW.. 👍🏻👍🏻 Also, looking forward to Tyler and Owen as well as Rue and the Sheriff’s stories.. ❤️❤️

"So this is what it's like to date you, Saint."

"No, Nicky, this is what it's like to be loved by me."

Holy freaking swoon. And I'm not even talking about that cover because that is swoonworthy all on its own. I am talking about this utterly romantic love story written by Walker. Cash and Nick's romance was a beautiful thing to read. Though there is some outside angst, the majority of the story focuses on these two best friends finally admitting their long held feelings for one another. It was just so lovely.

"You're my home, and I've been gone too long."

I loved how once their true feelings were finally on the table neither of them held back. They'd already waited twelve years. There was no point wasting any more time. Nick slotted into life on the ranch like he'd living there for years. Like he was always meant to be there. And he made Cash so freaking happy. After everything that man had done for everyone else, it was high time he had something just for him.

I'm happy that Cash's story isn't the end of the line for this series. Travis and Owen are next in Friends Like Them. They are another pair of best friends who've been dancing around one another way too long. We also meet the sexy sheriff in town whom a certain someone has their eye on. I'm looking forward to their story too because I have a feeling Mr. Sexy is not going to be prepared for what's coming his way.

The guys at the ranch are special...some are broken, but not beyond repair...some are working on a second, or third, or even a fourth chance but beyond anything else, they are a family...a chosen family, a family that is simply brilliant together. They have one another's backs, they laugh, the first in a long time for some of them.

Cash owns the ranch and provides this home and multiple chances for all the guys, no matter what their previous lives had been like. Most had been in prison and are turning their lives around Cash is giving them his help.

Cash has a best friend, FBI agent Nick. It was obvious there was more to them but just what it really was only was hinted at...until this book, which is finally Cash and Nick's chance to tell the story of their love for one another. We learn that they had a very steamy weekend together 12 years ago, but both were working on their budding careers, so they chose to remain in the "friend zone", but that didn't stop them from pining for each other those 12 long years. Nick turns up at the ranch unexpectedly. He's injured, thin and entirely burnt out, Cash, wants to do everything he can to help him and welcomes him “home” literally with open arms. They both have regret for ever opting for the friends not lovers' option and use some of the time now given to them to make up for the 12 lost, lonely years. They now delve into their past and talk about their hopes and plans for perhaps a future.

The ongoing storyline continues around the religious cult harassing the town. It comes to head now putting Cash and his little family in danger. The characters in these three books have been adorable and I it was an adventure worth taking to see these couples are getting their happy endings. Thank you, Aimee Nicole Walker, for giving us such wonderful and engaging stories.

Finally Nick and Cash get their story, and what a rollercoaster of a ride it is. Aimee has given us an endearing romance between two beautifully written characters who fell in love when younger, but somehow found themselves firmly in the friend zone. Twelve years later, these two are once again together, burning up the sheets, with Cash both unsure and nervous of Nick's intentions. This time around Nick is wiser and wants to overcome Cash's doubts, about how much he loves him. It was lovely how tender and warm Nick's feelings were toward Cash, in trying to prove his love and show him how much he cares. The story's truly an angst filled, ride of emotional turmoil. There's a lot of action, some homophobia, a description of some aspects of conversion therapy, and it's affects. On the other hand it's beautifully written with a gripping storyline, perfectly delivered. A lot of trouble is brought to Cash's door, but he proves himself to be a wonderful and brave protector, always there for his friends/found family. Nothing is too much, and I loved his kind and caring personality. Definitely a heartstrings page turner and well worth a read. The cover is first class and, I think is a great representation of our heroes. Already looking forward to the next book ☺☺

It was ok and at least I managed to finish it unlike the previous instalment. But the romance part was pretty much done, with them both already being in love with each other for a while. I felt I landed in the middle of it already. Maybe because I DNF book 2 I missed some part of the story about these two. Not sure and don't really care at this point.
And because I don't like the church side of the story one bit, 2* is the most I could come up with. A lot of skimming was done. Not sure I'll continue with this series.

This might be my favourite story so far in this series - Cash and Nick’s romance was beautifully written and full of swoon!

I’ve been so curious about these two and their history, and I loved the glimpses that were shared here. I’m talking 12 years of pining and trying to stay in the friend zone they’d decided upon after a weekend together… This story focused more on their now / future instead of the past though, and kept it low on angst, despite the years of pining.

Cash and Nick definitely had an abundance of chemistry, but instead of instantly making up for lost time, they made sure that they were on the same page first. I totally adored how tender and sweet they were together, and I loved how Cash took care of Nick, who was in pretty rough shape. It was beautiful to see how honest and open they were about their feelings for each other and the wants for their future.

There was a bit of suspense and intrigue from the continuing series plot, and I liked how things unfolded here. I felt like Aimee Nicole Walker did a great job of packing a lot things into this book without making anything feel rushed or incoherent. I found the flirting between the sheriff and Rue to be a lot of fun, and I’m really curious about them now.

I really enjoyed being back at Redemption Ridge, and I’m such a big fan of the found family feeling in this series. I honestly can’t wait to see more of these guys in the coming books!

Cash (50) and Nick (37) have one sizzling weekend together then for the next 12 years pine for each other, only to remain platonic friends, even though their chemistry still burns. Circumstances have an injured Nick unexpectedly arriving at Redemption Ridge and it’s not long before these two wonderful men actually honestly talk and learn exactly what they mean to each other. With age comes maturity so Cash and Nick communicate fully and constantly so there’s no miscommunication issues. The only issues they face are external to their relationship when a blast from the past tries to derail all that Redemption Ridge stands for.
I loved every moment of this engaging and enjoyable book. There’s plenty of swoon worthy tender intimate moments before the heat levels rise, some drama as the bad guys up their game, new additions to the ranch’s animal numbers and a long awaited and well deserved HEA. I can’t wait for the next two couples to get their stories told.

A Joyfully Jay review.

Saints Like Him is book three in the Redemption Ridge series, and the major series arc comes to a close in this book. Each book features a different couple and romance, but it’s necessary to read this series in order since the through plot develops more with each story. Cash has been an ever-present character, the man who started Redemption Ridge and brings second chances to convicts upon their release. Nick has also been present as a background character in the first book and playing a slightly bigger role in the second. Walker seeded the clues to their true relationship in the first two books, and it comes to a wonderful payoff here.

Saints Like Him is the third book in the Redemption Ridge series by Aimee Nicole Walker.

Tropes:
🤍 best friends to lovers
🤍 hurt/comfort

This book was so damn swoony!! We were so ready to read Cash and Nick’s story. And happy they finally got their HEA! We’ve known since the first book in this series that their love story would be epic and Aimee did not disappoint!

Cash and Nick met twelve years ago at a charity event. At that time, neither was interested in a relationship but their chemistry was palpable. They gave themselves one weekend to be together and that was it. A year passed before they saw each other again. The chemistry was still there but they didn’t allow themselves to give in. Both were immersed in their careers and knew it wasn’t the right time. As the years went by, they frequently met up as friends, and Nick soon became the most important person in Cash’s life.

Cash had been pining for Nick for years, but Nick didn’t want anything permanent and Cash valued their friendship too much to risk bringing up his feelings. Unbeknownst to him, Nick felt the same way. When he showed up at Cash’s ranch with his arm in a sling, and utterly exhausted, he felt like he was home.

Nick finally realized he was ready for more with Cash. He just hoped he wasn’t too late and Cash hadn’t moved on. He was determined to show Cash that he was all in.

They were finally ready to start their lives together when Salvation Anew, the local religious cult, started back up with their threats towards Cash and his men. When the threats came to fruition, Cash vowed to get to the bottom of whoever was behind it so that his men were safe and that he and Nick could move on with their lives.

Brilliant

I am loving this series, ranch life and hot ranch hands. They are a family, a chosen family, who are brilliant together, have each others backs, laugh a lot, are nosy and love to gossip and will bet on anything. Cash owns the ranch and most of the guys have been in prison and are turning their lives around with his help.

Since book one I have been dying to know the background between Cash and his best friend FBI agent Nick. It was obvious there was more to them but what. In this book we find out that they had a very steamy weekend together when they met 12 years ago but both were chasing their careers and chose the friend zone instead of pursuing a relationship. Seems they have been pining for each other ever since. The cover for this book is gorgeous and really sums up Cash and Nick and their deep love for one another.

When Nick turns up at the ranch unexpectedly, injured, thin and burnt out, Cash doesn’t hesitate to help him and welcomes him “home”. Seems like they both regret opting for friends not lovers and oh boy do they make up for the lost 12 years, they cannot keep their hands off each other and there are lots of really 🔥scenes and a lot of emotional ones as they delve into their past and talk about their hopes for the future.

The ongoing storyline around the religious cult harassing the town comes to a head and puts Cash and his family in serious danger.

There are so many adorable characters in these books and I am pleased to find out which couples are getting their stories in the next two books.

Aimee Nicole Walker writes such good and engaging stories and I highly recommend you read this series.

Book three of the Redemption Ridge Series did not disappoint. I have been reading the books in order, which helps as there are numerous members of the ranch that have a complex and rich history. Cash and Nick now get their story, and it is greatly deserved.

They have been best friends for over a decade, and except for a very brief period, they have put romantic feelings aside. Things are changing, and being just friends is no longer enough. I enjoyed that both men realized this, so there was no internal agonizing. They felt like an authentic couple, and I was so happy to see Cash get the love he so deserves.

His inspiration for this ranch is to give others a second chance. Cash takes in felons who are looking for redemption, and along the way, this group becomes a family.

There is a sinister force that is trying to destroy all that Cash has built. With Nick by his side, they try to stop further hurt and damage. Cash spends a little too much time in his head, worrying that he will be enough for Nick to want to stay, but Nick is a sweetheart and really tries to keep Cash grounded.

You will learn more about their dynamics, and I promise it will be an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this story, and I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Happy reading.

Finally, Cash gets his HEA.
Cash and Nick have been dancing around each other through this series, and finally we get to share in their HEA.
After one explosive weekend 12 years ago, Cash and Nick remained in each other's orbit, but as platonic best-friends. Secretly pining for the other, but at the same time supporting and having the other one's back.
Nick arrives unexpectedly at the ranch. He's injured and stressed, and Cash immediately goes into caregiver mode.
Truths and real talk are the order of the day, and Cash and Nick reveal their true feelings.

Saints Like Him as a beautifully written second chance romance. The moments between Cash and Nick are heartfelt. Gentle touches, quiet moments and scorching hot interactions.
I love that there was no miscommunication between the pair. They laid it all out on the line like the mature men they are.
Of course, there is still the "cult" Salvation Anew in the background, causing trouble. We learn more about them and the reason for their beef with Redemption Ridge.

Mrs. Walker has promised us at least 2 more books in this series, and I can't wait to read best-friends Tyler and Owen's story next.

I highly recommend this series but suggest that the books are read in order.

1.5 rounded. Cash speaks weird. Really. Super unnatural and a lot of times just too much like an inspirational quote one hangs up on their wall. One of the funniest is when Rueben is in the accident, Cash says “I just want to be clear about something. I only care about Rueben’s safety. The truck isn’t important.” No?! Really?! It’s as if the rescue team were gonna prioritize the car until Cash gave him permission not to. Spare me lol.

The whole Salvation Anew thing was already outlandish but now it’s a whole other level. Like some guy created a cult just to get at Cash?! Really doesn’t make sense. The way Cash speaks wasn’t the only thing weird thing about this book. Also, the whole series and this book start with the friendship between Nick and Cash already established. In this book, some of their past was explored. But I failed to see what made them friends besides them sleeping with each other the first time they met and both of them liking it and individually deciding to keep the other around because they’re secretly pining for each other. Is that what more than a decade of being best friends is based on or did I totally miss something? I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the latter because I honestly wasn’t super invested.

Redemption Ridge Ranch’s family continues to grow.
This time it’s Cash’s turn to find his HEA. Cash Saint Sweeney is the founder and the herat of the Ranch and its redemption program, where he gives ex-cons the possibility of a work and a new life, as he’s been one of them and knows how much that means. Found family is a huge theme in this series, and people working on the ranch have formed a family bound by friendship, if not blood. And this is evident once again in this book as things come to a head with the cult that has been targeting the ranch for a while now.
Cash and Nick have been best friends for twelve years and in love for as long, but live circumstances work and a good dose of far of ruining a good thing by changing things have prevented them to go further than pining and spend as much platonic time together as they can. Now that Nick needs healing and the only place he wants to call home is the ranch and Cash’s arms, all bets are off and their love is able to finally shine!

SAINTS LIKE HIM is the third book in the Redemption Ridge series. I don't suggest reading it as a standalone because you will miss so much information from the other books that make this one so worth it. It should be read in the order the author intended.

Cash and Nick had one weekend to fuel the flame of their desires. One weekend twelve years ago that changed both their lives. They weren't in the same places in their lives that they are today. They put each other in the friendzone but remained the best of friends through the years. Cash has always been Nick's safe place when his job as an FBI agent became too much. And coming to Redemption Ridge when his life is in complete turmoil is the only thing he can do. The life Nick has built for himself has always felt like it's missing something... that something is Cash.

Cash has built and run Redemption Ridge for former inmates to go when they wanted to make something of their lives after prison. The people around him have become family and as happy as it makes him to have these people in his life, he still feels alone. He's been in love with his best friend for twelve years. They were both not ready to be in a relationship, but now Cash is terrified to move Nick from that friendzone because he's so afraid of losing him.

I am so invested in this series. I love everything about these characters and finally seeing Cash get his happily ever after, after so long, is so heartwarming. Nick and Cash had so much chemistry and love between them. Cash was so patient with Nick while he worked through his issues and Nick's way to reassure Cash every time his thoughts would get away from him was so sweet.

I can't wait to get Rueben and Seth and Tyler and Owen. I am honestly just so excited there is more to come from this world!!!

This is the third book in the series. You might be able to read it as a standalone, but the previous books are so good it enriches this book. I've wanted Cash's story from the get-go. Who is this guy who runs this ranch and is so good to his employees? We met Nick briefly in a previous book and we could tell Cash felt something. This book, we get it all. All the heartache, all the BS they each went through, and finally, all the love. These two are perfect for each other. I loved watching their story unfold. I love the guys on this ranch, they are all like family and everyone has each other’s back. I adore this series and I can't wait for the next book.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
4.5 stars of goodness

This is the third book in the series and I have been waiting for Cash to get his happily ever after... and it really had to be with Nick! I would recommend that you read the earlier books first, as the underlying story is ongoing and would add to the richness of the story in this installment.

Cash and Nick are the very closest of friends, but never cross the line because Nick's career in the FBI doesn't fit with Cash's ranch life. Sure, Cash could be anywhere with the money he has, but he believes in Redemption Ridge, and Nick knows it and would never expect Cash to compromise. But Nick is finally at a point where he really can't continue in his role anymore, so perhaps it is time to see whether all that chemistry they suppress is, in fact, still there.

Cash cannot believe how wounded Nick's soul and body are, and will do anything to make his recovery smooth – but he is very surprised that Nick seems to be flirting with him, and is uncertain as to how to deal with his feelings. He knows what he wants but is it real?

I loved these two men finding each other again, and being so perfect together. Before they can really settle down though, they have to eliminate the threat of the sect which is persecuting the men on the ranch and the local town. Little did any of us expect the reason behind their vendetta – it is a clever twist.

Delicious from beginning to end with lots of time to catch up on previous romances and to predict who is going to be the next subject of a bet! Thank you, Aimee Nicole Walker.

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]

Saints Like Him is the third book in the Redemption Ridge series. Cash Sweeney has been fortunate to make his way from ex-con to billionaire and have his ranch to help others find their new way. He’s also had the chance to watch his family find love. Where he comes up short is being so deeply in love with his best friend, Nick Scott, but afraid to take it further. Nick Scott is so relieved to finally be home on the ranch with his best friend. He has also been harboring intense feelings for Cash but the time has never been right. The stars seem to have aligned and the two men find themselves willing to give being together a chance, but outside forces are pushing back at their newfound happiness.

Cash Sweeney has a heart of gold and is willing to settle for happiness being found with his family on the ranch and in the friendship he has developed with Nick over more than a decade. He is so afraid that his feelings would scare Nick away that when Nick comes forth with strong declarations of a future together, Cash hesitates. Nick doesn’t take his hesitation as a bad thing and finds himself dedicated to proving how good they could be together. Nick has returned to the ranch to heal not just physically but mentally as well and decide what his future holds. The only thing he knows for certain is that Cash is his past, present and future.

“Seeing those clothes in the suitcase this morning was the epiphany I needed. You wanted me to be sure, and the evidence was right there in front of me. No what-ifs or maybes. I’ve been yours since we met.”

This addition to the series made me so very happy. Cash and Nick have so many levels to their intimacy that shines brightly in their interactions in and out of the bedroom. I love that they have this established friendship that builds into more. I appreciated that their relationship was relatively low angst and although not perfect, we didn’t get unnecessary conflict. The found family at the ranch want nothing more than to see their boss happy and welcome Nick with open arms. The continued strife with the religious cult hits its boiling point with the ranch and its workers not coming out unscathed. We have two pending books hinted at and I just can’t wait to see more MCs get their HEA.

4.5 stars for Cash and Nick allowing themselves to bask in their happily ever after.

This series has not been stand alone stories and the latest is no different. Someone else mentioned it felt like an extended epilogue and I think I can agree with that. We find out why Salvation Anew has been causing trouble for Redemption Ridge and get to see Cash & Nick finally decide to stop dancing around each other. It’s satisfying from an overall story perspective but may leave some readers wanting for something more robust.

I love Cash – how level headed, caring, and strong he is. He obviously cares about his guys and his community, willing to do just about anything to help them and to right any wrongs he can. We’ve known since the beginning that there was something going on between him and Nick but we didn’t know exactly what. And we finally find out. I can’t decide how I feel about Cash with Nick though. For someone who has come across as so put together for so long, it’s a bit of a disconnect to see him so unsure and vulnerable. On one hand it’s reassuring to know that he has a weakness for someone so important to him but it’s also a little discomforting. Kinda like life.

We also find out a lot more about Nick & his feelings about Cash and we get small glimpses of their time together. The connection they have is strong enough to survive 12 years of separation and the hardships that life gave them. But those long years of only being friends also means that when they finally decide to chance their friendship for what their hearts have been craving they slide right into being a couple. There’s very little drama but a whole lot of sweetness as they show each other how much they care with special gestures, small and large.

I don’t know if this is another of those times when the fact that I’m a straight female means that I ask “is that sexy” or “do people really say that” more than once. I don’t think I did that in the first two stories (and I didn’t mention it in either review) but I did notice it in an unrelated book I read by this author. It may be the way Walker writes or it may just be me :)

Steamy and emotional, Walker brings her readers the resolution to this couple that they have been waiting for. And sets up future stories wonderfully – I can’t wait to see what trouble Rue can cause or what makes Owen & Tyler finally get their act together. Looking forward to more of the men from Redemption Ridge.

I'm a long-time fan of Aimee Nicole Walker, reaching back to her Curl Up and Dye series and beyond. I loved the first two books in this series and was eager for Cash's story, which is a sweet friends-to-lovers romance.

The mystery-suspense subplot in Saints Like Him is part of an arc from the first two books, so you probably should read them in order. There are things that happen in this book that will spoil the suspense from the first two. They're excellent reads and I highly recommend them.

In Saints Like Him, the two MCs started out as a hookup 12 years prior to the beginning of this book and they stayed friends. Each had caught feelings for the other, but neither said anything for fear of losing the friendship. When FBI agent Nick hits a bump in his career, he heads to Cash's ranch. I won't completely rehash the blurb here, but I'll say it doesn't take long for the two to fully connect and much of the romance storyline is their exploration of what that means for them as a couple. Those readers who don't like angst in the relationship will appreciate that there's little of it here, or at least I didn't think there was.

What tension there is in the story mainly comes from outside, the cult-like group that plagued the previous books. For me, the reason I didn't give five stars, the two storylines didn't overlap enough throughout the book to give it a cohesive feel. It's still a thoroughly enjoyable book, though, don't get me wrong. The writing is excellent, there's plenty of steam, and I love the two main characters as well as the rest of the supporting cast, but when the story was focused on the lovely romance between Cash and Nick, or the antics of the rest of the cast, I didn't feel the tension of that outside threat. I almost felt like I was reading two books at the same time. I enjoyed them both, but I would have liked a bit more crossover between the two stories.

There is quite a bit of foreshadowing about the next book in the series, but that doesn't take away from this book, which ends in a HEA for this couple and a HFN with no cliffhanger for the rest of the crew who have not yet been paired up.

"Saints Like Him" is a captivating exploration of love, maturity, and the challenges that come with rekindling a romance that once slipped through the fingers of two young hearts. The characters, Cash and Nick, share a history of youthful love that somehow evolved into a deep and supportive friendship. The narrative takes readers on an angst-filled rollercoaster, delving into emotional turmoil with a beautifully written and gripping storyline.

One refreshing aspect of the story is the mature communication between Cash and Nick, a departure from the miscommunication tropes often found in romance novels. Their willingness to openly express their feelings adds a layer of authenticity to their characters and the narrative. As the two men contemplate giving their relationship a second chance, external forces threaten to unravel the foundations of Redemption Ridge, the backdrop against which their love story unfolds.
The inclusion of a mystery-suspense subplot adds an intriguing layer to the novel, connecting it to the overarching arc from the first two books in the series. It's worth noting that reading the previous installments may enhance the reader's understanding of certain plot elements, as events in "Saints Like Him" reference and build upon the suspense from the earlier books.

The stars may have aligned for Cash and Nick, but the external challenges they face keep the narrative tension high. The author skillfully weaves together themes of love, maturity, and suspense, creating a well-rounded and engaging story. While the book stands strongly on its own, readers are encouraged to follow the series in order to fully appreciate the intricate connections and avoid potential spoilers from the preceding novels.

Overall, "Saints Like Him" is a compelling read that will leave readers eagerly anticipating the next installment in this emotionally charged series. I was provided a copy of this book by the author, and am leaving this review that reflects my opinion of the book voluntarily.

Saints Like Him surpassed my expectations, and oh my. The first part of the book with the reunion full-on hurt/comfort after this decade of pining and repressed feelings on both sides and the touched starved trope.

Everything was so tender.

I couldn’t get enough of it and it was just PERFECT. And very necessary for Cash and Nick’s well-being and strength. Our cast of colorful characters at the ranch were the perfect balance between not being too overwhelming and being mischievous after seeing the recent development in their boss love life (finally!) and Nick is fits at Redemption Ridge like it was meant to be (which it was, but still).

This was a book very much focused on Cash and Nick’s relationship, fortifying their duo, healing Nick and building an aura of composure and safety around this power couple. Rest assured, they do well receive the love and recognition of their found family, family, friends and community after everything they’ve done for them, especially for Cash (whose past is also revealed)

I was super relieved the looming threat of the Salvation Anew cultists that was at the heart of the first and second installment of this series was not at all the spotlight here. The issue was relegated near the end of the book and thank god for it because I was constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop and everything was taken care of by the competent authorities while making some elements of it keys elements of a future pairing story (hi Burke and Rueben!). Very well done.

Super satisfying overall, I’m impatiently waiting on the next books: Owen & Tyler, Burke & Rueben, and potentially Keegan after having done a whole lot of healing.

100% recommended!

4.5 ⭐️

It’s been a long wait for these two, and I don’t think I could have asked for better for them. They’ve already been pining for 12 years, so there was no need to continue that angst into their book for any big amount of time. If you’ve read the series up to now, you’ve felt Cash’s and Nick’s heartache and longing. So, as a tender-hearted person, I was very happy that their story was low angst, and we got to see them finally come together and BE together for the whole book. I can’t stand books that have so much buildup and then we only get to see the MCs as a couple for a fourth of the book.

This book also wraps up an overarching plot, but brings new relationships and characters into play. The action is more in the last third of the book, but that doesn’t make it any less entertaining and engaging. Just getting to see Cash and Nick find their future together was beautiful…and steamy. They have such deep love, passion, and respect for each other.

I enjoyed seeing an older-ish couple. Cash is 49, almost 50, and Nick is 37. It was nice to see more mature ages finding love, and I thought this author did a great job of making them fit their ages, both physically and emotionally. Nick is coming down from a burnout and minor accident. The burnout—and what led up to it—has caused him to struggle mentally, which has also had an impact on his body. It’s not glossed over, and Cash’s dick doesn’t magically heal him. His mind has to heal before his body can begin to. I liked this approach to Nick’s character and the reality of it.

One thing I really love about this series is the found-family aspect. These guys are just there for each other no matter what. There’s no judgment and they genuinely want to help each other grow and succeed.

If you like found family, low angst, medium-to-high spice, and some mystery/action, you’ll enjoy this series. I can’t wait to dive into book 4.

SAINTS LIKE HIM is the third book in the Redemption Ridge series. I don't suggest reading it as a stand alone because you will miss so much information from the other books that make this one so worth it. It should be read in the order the author intended.

Cash and Nick had one weekend to fuel the flame of their desires. One weekend twelve years ago that changed both their lives. They weren't in the same places in their lives that they are today. They put each other in the friend zone but remained the best of friends through the years. Cash has always been Nick's safe place when his job as an FBI agent became to much. And coming to Redemption Ridge when his life is in complete turmoil is the only thing he can do. The life Nick as built for himself has always felt like it's missing something...that something is Cash.

Cash has built and run Redemption Ridge for former inmates to go when they wanted to make something of their lives after prison. The people around him have become family and has happy has it makes him to have these people in his lives he still feels alone. He's been in love with his best friend for twelve years. They were both not ready to be in a relationship but now Cash is terrified to move Nick from that friend zone because he's so afraid of losing him.

I am so invested in this series. I love everything about these characters and finally seeing Cash get his HEA after so long is so heartwarming.

I was given a free copy of this book.

4.5*s of goodness

This is the third book in the series and I have been waiting for Cash to get his HEA... and it really had to be with Nick! I would recommend that you read the earlier books first, as the underlying story is ongoing and would add to the richness of the story in this installment.

Cash and Nick are the very closest of friends, but never cross the line - because Nick's career in the FBI doesn't fit with Cash's ranch life. Sure Cash could be anywhere with the money he has, but he believes in Redemption Ridge, and Nick knows it, and would never expect Cash to compromise. But Nick is finally at a point where he really can't continue in his role anymore, so perhaps it is time to see whether all that chemistry they supress is in fact still there.

Cash cannot believe how wounded Nick's soul and body are, and will do anything to make his recovery smooth - but he is very surprised that Nick seems to be flirting with him, and is uncertain as to how to deal with his feelings. He knows what he wants, but is it real?

I loved these two men finding each other again, and being so perfect together. Before they can really settle down though, they have to eliminate the threat of the sect which is persecuting the men on the ranch and the local town. Little did any of us expect the reason behind their vendetta - it is a clever twist.

Delicious from beginning to end with lots of time to catch up on previous romances and to predict who is going to be the next subject of a bet! Thank you Aimee Nicole Walker.

I loved how Cash and Nick finally got their act together and admitted that they were in love and was so glad that Nick decided to resign from the FBI after suffering burnout and becoming impotent. He also had to deal with the fallout from the investigation into Kieran's case. Turning up at Cash's ranch with an injured shoulder from an accident made Cash very protective and it was amusing how Nick and Burke held a kind of pissing contest over Cash's affection though you knew that Cash only had eyes for Nick. And then Salvation Anew started up again with planting false evidence of thefts and it was so painful to see Keegan who was so lost that he joined that group and then was bullied by townspeople who hated them and so glad that Cash stepped in but Keegan didn't reach out then. The accident that hurt Rueben turned out to be an murder attempt since the brake lines were cut and it was Cash's truck he was driving. And then Keegan shows up and he is in a terrible state and told them that the cult were gloating about the truck crashing and how they were going to do more. It was Nick's idea that the leader of the cult had a personal reason to go after Cash and then you learn that he was the father of man that Cash knew from dirt bike racing who had robbed store and Cash had turned him though he was charged as an accessory. What was so enraging was that the father had disowned his son for being gay and then filed a wrongful death suit after Mike was killed in prison. Then he started his cult and went after Cash when Cash became successful. I was glad that he was arrested and his hateful nephew and that Keegan would eventually be all right. Looking forward to the books about Burke and Reuben and

If one cover photo fits a book well, than it's this one.

It's a story of hurt, love, feeling lost and finding home and one I hoped for since book 1.

Nick and Cash had one hot weekend, 12 years ago, and since then put each other firmly into the friend zone while unknowingly to each other pinning for more.

When Nick arrives at the ranch, injured, burnt out and with determination that 12 years are long enough to wait, Cash is just there, offering him everything he needs and craves.

I love Cash's simple acceptance that Nick's feelings are genuine and that both want the same thing, going forward together instead of staying alone. Bit by bit, Nick is healing and looking at a bright future again.

The majority of the book is their love story, some threads from the two previous books are picked up and do give a surprise conclusion. It adds to the story but it's really more a love story and a mystery.
With so long being friends, there is not really a lot of character discovery but enough is descripted and revealed to ensure both Cash and Nick are shown with depth and history.

I just want to take both and wrap in bubblewrap to keep them safe and happy.

Cash's found family is there as expected and it's lovely to see that they also just accept Nick into their fold as Cash's man, some ribbing included.

We will return to Redemption Ridge and I can't wait for the next book.

This is book 3 in the Redemption Ridge series and I absolutely loved it! While I think you could enjoy it as a standalone, reading the earlier books first will definitely enhance the experience. This is the story of Cash Sweeney and Nick Scott. Cash is an ex-con who is now a self-made millionaire. He is giving back to help others like he was helped by creating Redemption Ridge. Nick is an FBI Agent and suffering from a severe case of burnout. These two are best friends. But twelve years ago, they spent a sex filled weekend together and generated enough sparks to set the world on fire. But they both realized, that they had challenges to meet and being together at that time wasn't possible. So they fell into a best friend situation as part of the something was better than nothing thinking. Nick is injured and has a driving need to see Cash. He is terrified that he has kept his walls up too long and that he has missed his chance to tell Cash how he feels. Cash on the other hand has been waiting 12 years and is prepared to wait for another 12 if he has to. When they finally get together, it is explosive. This is their story. We also get closure on the trouble being caused by Salvation Anew and a link back to book one. This book is very well written and easy to read. I really enjoyed it and I can't wait for the next book in this series.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was so good. One of the things I like about this series is there are no stupid misunderstandings. So Cash, who is the owner of Redemption Ranch has been pinning for Nick who is and FBI agent and also Rory's brother, for 12 years. We come to find out that Nick has been pinning for Cash as well. Nick finally comes home and straight into the arms of his Cash. Nick does come with some baggage. He was injured in an accident and is dealing with some personal issues that he is worried about it affecting his relationship with Cash. He shouldn't have worried as Cash accepted him just as he was. We also have the overall ARC still hanging over their heads, but we find out what is behind all of that & that mostly resolves by the end of the book. I love Rue and Seth and how Rue keeps proposing to the Sheriff who did have a thing for Cash. I can't wait for their book. Poor Keegan was so very injured, due to him being part of the religious cult and it's going to be a long time before he is healed. I can't wait for Owen & Tyler's book as they have some talking to do. I do recommend reading the books in order as not only you see the couples, but there was that overall ARC & you would be lost if you pick it up in the middle. I can't wait for the next book.

I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest opinion
