Я - ааргх. Будем знакомы. Сижу в харчевне старины Трувора за столом, тихо, мирно, ничего не делаю, не шалю (разве что примус не починяю!) - читаю книгу. И тут ко мне, разумеется, пристают, машут мечами, ругаются вслух, а некий столичный задохлик мнит из себя графа... Результат предсказуем: я всех бью, получаю новую работу, лишние шишки - и лезу за нанимателем в самое пекло. Гр-р-р!
Чувствуете, полный набор фэнтезийных штампов? А потом еще и гномы с эльфами полезут, и Тайная полиция Империи, и лесная нечисть, и самая уродливая наёмница, и контрабанда ведьм, и сплошные тайны, и... Но давайте по порядку.
Итак, я - ааргх... Запомнили? Продолжаем...

Andrei Belyanin (Андрей Белянин) is a modern Russian science fiction and fantasy writer, who wrote at least 15 novels with many of then selling over 2 million copies. He is especially known for humour and parody in his fiction. Belyanin's novels are mostly ironcal chrono-operas, where the pun is based on anachronisms.

Belyanin is married. He had a son, Ivan, who was kidnapped in 2004 for sake of ransom. Although the kidnappers were arrested a few days after, Ivan Belyanin was found dead, as they killed him at the day of the kidnapping. The criminals, brothers Kirill and Ivan Kostylev, both were sentenced to prison.

Книга далека от гениальной, но она легкая и ненавязчивая, юморная и в принципе очень не плохая. Иногда, это именно то, что надо. Так что 4 звезды, тк в категории "легкое чтиво" она занимала бы ооочень высокую позицию.

Aargh is a race of troll-like creatures known for their strength, ferocity in battle and great dumbness. However, our hero is different - he is intelligent, smart and loves to read. It's alone enought to make the book interesting, but everything becomes even better when he, accompanied by a incompetent count, ugly mercenary, suicidal elf and two greedy dwarves, becomes involved into sinister plot treatenong the Empire... Funny and easy read.
