Bombshell Poetry from the Underground is a collection of poems chronicling Roberts' years as an actress and poet living in New York and Los Angeles. From the gritty underbelly of the lower east side of Manhattan to the woodsy imagery of California, the writer juxtaposes beauty and grief, love and loss, the bombshell and bohemia.
Taylor Roberts is an author, actress, and fashion model. She has appeared in several films and television shows alongside the top performers in her field. Bombshell Bohemia is Taylor's first book of poetry.
Taylor Roberts breaks into the poetry world with force and confidence, providing dark, Gothic metaphors and wonderfully feminine imagery. Her verse is highly structured, stepping out of the comfortable free-verse voices that have prevailed over contemporary American poetry and taking us back in time. The writer manages to capture the psychology of a modern woman, complete with complex voices of the past, like a modern loft apartment filled with antiques. The book is a short collection that leaves you wanting more. I am excited to see what future works Roberts has in store.
I am so happy that I finally was able to read Bombshell Bohemia. There is so much depth in every line that the author writes. The poems are poignant, situational, themed into the depths of the human soul. My favorite was "WELL WROUGHT". Definitely strong with metaphors and physical writing conjuring amazing images. There are some striking lines throughout the entire work. Creative conjurings that you would have never thought of on your own! For instance, who would have thought that the sea swelling and moving could be compared to being hormonal? These lines that I mention will change your ideas surrounding writing and what can be accomplished with the deliberate choice of words. Truly amazing writing, like this, will move your soul and make it spurt with epiphanies and feeling. Awesome job Taylor, my friend!
