Awesome Sauce!

That's right I think this latest offering from S. A. Archer and S. Ravynheart is Awesome Sauce. My best friend turned me on to this series and this is one of his favorite battle cries when he loves something to the nTh degree. I don't think I will ever get tired of anything these guys write! If you love an adrenaline rush, you will NOT be disappointed in Enchanted. Not one tiny bit. Put on your favorite ass kicking music, grab your favorite adult bevy and get ready to have your heart rate blow the fuse on the encephalogram when you read the latest story featuring London and a sexy, mischievous Unseelie named Kieran.

Our favorite heroine London prides herself in being an independent, never-need-to-rely on anyone private investigator, but she has found herself caught up in a rather intricate web of Sidhe magic. She's been Touched you see. Not your average touch, but one that can only be delivered by any one of those brilliantly, beautiful magical beings that are the Sidhe. Once a human is Touched they are a goner; they can't get enough of it and it becomes an addiction (see the connection yet in the previous titles to this series?) For humans the Touch is supposed to feel mind blowingly amazing; from sharing simple feelings to out-of-this-world sexual. So this is London's plight. She was unwillingly Touched by an Unseelie, earlier in the story. Now she is determined to find another Sidhe that will give her what she craves.

If you've read the previous books in the Touched series, Cursed and Addicted, then you might have an idea where this is going. London is one hell of character. She could just give in, give up, give over, but that isn't our girl's style. Not at all. She manages to put a plan in motion to find a Sidhe and boy does she find one in Kieran. Not wanting to spoil too much of the story here, but did I mention that once these two slam into one another it's much like a nuclear reaction going off? And the authors manage to throw in a kidnapping or two, a race war between a few not so pleasant werewolves and then the climax. And you are just going to have to read this novella if you want to know what that entails. One tiny hint: a blast from London's past is going to show up and he is NOT HAPPY.

I found myself having to put my Kindle down, screaming OMG and taking a walk around the living room while reading. That's how much of an effect Enchanted had on me. And a book that can hold my attention from start to finish is no small feat. Run! Don't walk and download a copy of this story! You will not be disappointed.

London's addiction to the Touch has put her in a rather, let's say, morally ambiguous position. She's doing things she never expected she'd do - in this case, kidnap an earthborn Sidhe to ease her longing for the Touch - and yet, with the curse eating away at her, she has no choice. It's either find a Sidhe or die.

Her storyline has always skated between both Lugh's and Donovan's (through Malcolm) but she's finally meeting Donovan face-to-face. She's learning things that she probably didn't want to know about how she contributed to Malcolm's imprisonment. *sniffle* Malcolm's my favorite, you know. Poor kid. Anyway. I feel for London. She didn't ask to be dragged down by the Touch and now it's making her do things she never thought she'd do. How she ultimately finds a way to balance her need will be interesting.

A strong entry into the overall arc, I can't wait to see where we're taken next.

Woefully short

Great story but incredibly short. I feel like this is similar to a TV series rather than a movie series. The 4 Stars is because of length.

Six weeks since her last fix and London's desire for the Touch of the rare and hidden Sidhe is becoming a need to her life and sanity. London has found there are Sidhe in a glamoured club, which she has staked out, waiting for one to leave and kidnap for his Touch. Not sure what to do, when she's captures a Sidhe, to get his Touch and not have him vanish on her instead, she binds him with silver cuffs and calls her Vampire friend Selena to help. Taking him to Selena's warded manor home, but there are others there that are interested in the fey as well...werewolves. London's little mess up could start an all out war between the races.

This short story has it's action with it. Fighting and lots of running for their lives. Fighting of human, werewolves, vampires, and fey. Nice to keep the story moving forward, and learning about the different races present in this series.

Rash thinking is fuzzed by the overwhelming desire for nothing but the Touch. London comes to the realization that her desperation for the Touch has drawn her to have blinders and limited thought as to what she is told... she will believe anything even obvious lies and did things she can't change which is making life harder. London is starting to come to some truth, and has to learn to accept it. Finding the Touch might be harder now with the truth out, but maybe, just maybe, there might be one tiny chance of an ally in the end, if she plays her cards properly.

London is willing to fight for her fey here, but also what helps her is the nervousness of the Vampires. We learn they are always prepared and London being a close friend to Selena has let her in on the secrets in their home. There is always something around; weapons, secret rooms, and escape routes everywhere that can be used in the dire emergency.

Oh! Shame on the authors. Evil as they are! They left me with a cliffhanger ending! Shame, shame. lol. I am now in need of the next story to see what troubles are heading London's way. It should be out in just a few months.

Enchanted

(Touched #3)

Summary

All London wants is her life back, not something easy to accomplish with her addiction to the Sidhe Touch constantly gnawing at her. This time she's found an earthborn Sidhe who just might take the edge off her craving. If she can keep the other predators like vampires and wizards from claiming her prey, that is.

A round of applause for Archer and Ravynheart! They’ve done it again! The world they have created never fails to grab me and completely immerse me in it.

This instalment of the series really keeps you on edge, it’s very fast-paced, which I found in keeping with London’s fierce desperation to satisfy her addiction of the magic found in the Sidhe Touch.
I really felt for London, her being burdened with the ‘Curse’ of the touch, which controls her life and drives her to kidnap and ultimately into risky and violent situation, involving a gang of unruly and brutal Werewolves, that potentially could cost her life and the life of the young kidnapped Sidhe Kieran.

The Unseelie also make an appearance witch I enjoyed seeing from a different prospective and seeing a glimpse of the young, once vulnerable Malcolm change into a feral Sidhe bent on vevenge. I truly love the way all the 3 series link together, so that you can see all the characters collectively and in a different light. (Rise of the Unseelie)(Touched)(Champion of the fey).

Archer and Ravynheart have created a combination of intense Kick-ass action - that I always imagine in slow motion - a strong heroine, Vampires, Werewolves and of course sexy Sidhe ... Really, what more could you ask for? ;-)

I am now waiting eagerly for the next instalment!
Keep it the great writing guys!

Enchanted runs parallel with Bloodhound, the fourth book in the Rise of the Unseelie series. What is fascinating about this novel is we really see just how much her addiction has affected her by the third book. In Cursed we see that London's moral boundaries are more black and white, but book three whatever is left of her morality is nearly gone as she lets her addiction to the Touch take over.

It's excellent character development and quite opposite from what you see in most urban fantasy heroines. I like that she's not really a heroine according to the traditional definition, but not really a bad guy... or gal. Archer and Ravynheart do a phenomenal job at making you really sympathize with London. Despite making life difficult for the unseelie fey you can't help but want to see her survive.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to her character as the series continues to progress but now that she's inflicted the wrath of Donovan, and the unseelie fey are hunting her, I can't imagine it will be good.

It was also interesting to see Kieran's reaction though to being kidnapped. He didn't react nearly as much as Malcolm and while frightened at first there was also a bit of sympathy for her character as well. I'm definitely looking forward to see how Archer and Ravynheart will work that angle into the story.

It's been a while since I've read a series that has captivated me this much and I can't stop raving about it. Every time I think I have it figured out there's always a new twist that completely catches me off guard. Forget everything you thought you knew about the fey, vampires and werewolves--this series completely redefines urban fantasy and the supernatural monsters that go along with it.

This is a free e-book I read over vacation. It's the third book in a series, so there's plenty of backstory missing. The part I found odd about this book is its length. It was more of a novella than a novel. There are many books in this 'verse by this author, so I'm pretty sure the author is trying to make a living using a different model than most - sort of the Dickens model of serial stories - almost a chapter at a time. It also seems that every mini-series uses a different perspective, so the effect could be quite entertaining if you really got into this author. This story didn't win me over, but I'd say there's a 50% chance that any given urban fantasy fan might like the author. Nothing wrong with the writing, it just was too little of a taste to hook me. I didn't have enough info to fall in love with the characters.

Premise: London PI has been addicted to Sidhe-touch by an unscrupulous now-dead Sidhe, so she's hunting another one to take him prisoner and supply her with the magic touch she needs to stay sane. Her plan has some holes, and everything that could go wrong, does, in really bad ways. She's fucked 6 ways to Sunday, basically. Sucks to be her.

Out of all the characters of this series, and you would think with Sidhe, vampires, and other creatures I would be more apt to want to be one of those, but I found myself more aligned with London. I cared more about the only main human than any other character and I couldn't tell you why, because I truly loved them all. I guess it was because of her humanness and her lack of gifts, strengths or powers. She has courage while going up against beings that would tear her apart with just her wits and a gun. I felt every moment of her struggle. Whether it was the physical struggle to stay alive or the inner struggle to do what she thinks is right even at great personal cost.

I can't say enough about this series. If you like urban fantasy then stop right now. You can't get better than this.

The fantasy and comedic wording was a little too much for me in a contemporary setting. I wasn't that enamored with the characters and overall I felt London to be a little too crass for my taste

Note. I received this book free from amazon. Also I did not read the first or second book in the series.
