Discover the magic of Snow White in this petite edition of the classic fairytale, created especially for little readers with just a handful of words and bright, enchanting illustrations.
This traditional fairytale is told in a simplistic format that allows for the reader or listener to use their imagination to complete the events of the story. Large pictures and colorful text bring the events to life. This is perfect for early readers or young children because it allows for them to develop alphabetic principle and phonemic awareness.
Each "page" of this board book captures an event in the story with just one or two words. Bright illustrations and a novel approach which allows for the reader to use their own words to tell the tale.
Once there was a princess with a green stepmother whose shocking actions forced the girl to run into the woods where she met and lived with seven dwarfs. When the queen found out Snow White was still alive, she plotted to kill the innocent little thing.
I'm trying to put my finger on just what's wrong with this series of fairy tale board books. I think it's just an overall thing. The art isn't great, and the choice of text is sometimes kind of perplexing. I get that they're trying to tell the original story, but some of the words (like "Wild pig" and "Poison apple") just don't seem like necessary vocabulary for the tiny tots who read at this level.
Cute illustrations, but only for the tiniest tots.
Veg*n parents note: The book includes a page featuring the "huntsman," complete with bow and arrows; a wild pig is hiding in the bushes off to one side.
A darling rendition of Snow White with illustrations that tell the story accompanied by one to three words per page, this is perfect for little toddler girls.
