***Detailed Review***

A solid read with a lot of soul searching.

SLOW HEAT definitely brought this series back to life for me. I was not a fan of RUN WILD. I actually didn’t know there was going to be another book until I just happened to spot it at the bookstore. I just had to give it a try as the back really seemed interesting.

Maggie O’Malley is put into a bad situation with her crooked uncle that has landed her in the hot seat with the police and some crooked law breakers who want her silenced over the account books.

Micah Jones is a top assassin but when his last job lands him, his uncle and father in danger of being found, they decide to split for a year and take a break.

Now, he’s working at KFA and its his task to bring Maggie in. Although unsure of her innocence at first, it doesn’t take Micah long before he can see Maggie’s innocence. When she comes to him wanting to hire him to find the real thief, he agrees knowing this will put more attention on him, not something he needs.

But as the sparks heats up between them, so does the case and Maggie isn’t safe. More questions are being raised about his identity as Greg King begins piecing the puzzle together.

Before Maggie, Micah never gave one thought to his career choice. He was raised and breed to be the best assassin he could be, but now, Micah is thinking of a life with Maggie, but fear no one can accept him.

Greg and Haley King sure didn’t give him a chance when the case ends and the truth come out. Knowing it’s unlikely, he tries to have one last night with Maggie and see where it goes, but it ends when his dad and uncle barge in and let the truth out.

Still, just minutes from returning to his old life, after saving Haley, but putting the final nail in his coffin, Micah still can’t let go. Seeking a church, he lets his sins out and has a clean slate as he and Maggie take off together from the cops.

Micah Jones works for KFA, a bounty hunting service. Micah’s latest target is Maggie O’Malley. Maggie just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. She is a book keeper for her Uncle. Unfortunately for Maggie her Uncle is conducting some shady business. Maggie decides to hire Micah to clear her name.

Slow Heat is the latest book in the Bounty Hunters series. I am enjoying this series. Besides, what is not to love about this series…romance, strong male and female leads, and a good storyline. Of course, I must admit that for me it is all about the guys. The guys can track me down anytime.

I really liked Micah. He was the bad boy that did reform and turn into the good guy in the end. While, it was easy to see the chemistry between Micah and Maggie, it still took me a little while to see them together as a couple. However, it did not take but the first love making scene for me to quickly see that Micah and Maggie were good together. This book should be called Scorching Heat and not Slow Heat! It is that hot and good.

Disjointed, story seamed to stutter at times. Didn't really care for Micah until towards the end.

Maggie O'Malley, the bookkeeper at her uncle's club, finds herself in a little bit of legal trouble when she's suspected of being involved in the money laundering her uncle is suspected of running through the club. In an attempt to clear her name, she hires the Micah Jones, the bounty hunter who barged in her office the day of her uncle's arrest. As they work to clear her name, they give in to the undeniable attraction they have for one another. But what Maggie doesn't know is Micah's past is about to catch up with him and that could be more dangerous to her than what her uncle is involved in.

I liked Micah because he was that broody, silent type of hero that we soon find is all soft and squishy on the inside. Micah is hiding out as a bounty hunter while he waits for the heat to cool over an assassination is he was hired to do is uncovered to be a CIA agent. He's constantly looking over his shoulder and tries to keep to himself, but there is something about Maggie that he finds he can't resist.

Maggie has always been the responsible one and someone her family can count on to take care of others. So when she finds herself in a lot of trouble because she did what her mother wanted and worked for her uncle, she finally decides to start standing up for herself. Micah may not be the best person for Maggie, but he has a way of complementing her temper and loud outbursts. He may not be the most expressive person, but he gets Maggie and helps her discover what she wants out of life.

The storyline behind the money laundering was one that I was less than thrilled with. It didn't have a lot of umph behind it to keep my interest. The same could be said about the storyline with Micah's father and uncle. All I wanted was more of Micah and Maggie, and a little more of her family sprinkled in. Everything else, I could have left behind.

I love a hero with secrets...it always makes for a spectacular, heart-breaking black moment...which are my FAVORITE kind!! And Micah not only has secrets, but he is quite the wild man in the bedroom...Oh My! But Maggie was able to hold her own with the big boys, with that Irish/Italian temper and spirit...she gave as good as she got.

This was my first Lorie O'Clare romance, but alas, will not be my last! I am so diggin on these Bounty Hunters and the ladies who fall for them...poor Maggie never stood a chance. Micah had her under his spell from the beginning.

"Why did you kiss me? You didn't have to kiss me to make a distraction. If agents were watching us a simple hug would have created the same impression you said you wanted. You didn't have to kiss me without even preparing me if you didn't mean it."

(He grabs her and kisses her again)
"When I do something, I mean it," he informed her, and captured her gaze the moment she looked up at him. "I've never done anything I didn't want to do."

Yeah...and that was just the beginning! If you are looking for a romance that has a little action, a lot of drama and some very steamy love scene's, then Slow Heat is a need to read.

Started off okay, and the characters were likeable, but at the end the author seemed in a hurry to tie things up neatly and give the main characters a happy ever after, which didn't ring true to the rest of the story as far as I'm concerned. I would've liked to see the hero be a bit more unsure he could really change so completely, and the heroine be willing to take a chance on their relationship anyway.

I really loved this one to. He's use to being on his on. Raised by his father, uncle and grandfather. I'm guessing no real love there except for his training. While hiding out he met his match in the form of a short female who isn't afraid to tell him how she feels. With her he has a lot of first such as smiling and caring. Great book I highly recommend.

The first half of this book is slow, mostly expounding on what a bad pass assassin Micah is. At first I thought Maggie was a classy heroine but then she turned into this termagant with a foul mouth and a violent nature. The second half picks up the pace, the story unfolds, the soul searching and h.e.a. come together nicely.

This book did nothing for me. I ended up skimming and skipping around. I finally finished it, but don't ask me what it was about.
