Dark Entity

Rate this book
Years ago, under the illusion that a demon could be bargained with, a man begged for the beast not to kill his daughter.

Instead the man exclaimed that he would bring a sacrifice, a chosen individual every three months to where the creature resided. Take them and not his daughter and the demon would be fed for the rest of its days.

Pleased with this offer, the demon agreed and waited for the sacrifice. Unbeknown to the demon, the Chosen, as they were referred to, were laced with a powerful sedative to lull it to sleep. It was a dangerous plan but one that ensured the survival of the local town of Fourhe.

Sure enough the creature was never awake long enough to terrorise the locals as each successive Chosen sedated the demon, know as Limit, to sleep the moment he woke.

It was a dangerous game, one which seemed to have paid off for the time being. Over time, Fourhe was adamant that Limit was contained and that the cycle could never be broken. That is, until the ambitions of a High Priestess began to disrupt this delicate stability.

I recently read Dark Entity, written by Emma and Christopher Byford, which is part of 'The Fusion Series'. The story takes place in a town called Fourhe where the people are forced to co-exist with something terrible. It follows a tormented family who have lost much in this imaginitive world.

From the moment I read the first page I was thoroughly hooked. The book is extremely well written and well edited and flows in a way that kept me gripped to the end. The characters in the story definately tug on the heartstrings and you feel for them instantly.

The Lore, which is explained at the begining of this short story, is easy to follow and understand and does not suffocate you with information. Later in the story, the introduction of the Angels is laced with humor and a sense of brotherhood, with all the squabbles that come with it. It sets the characters up for more explanation later in the series.

It is a story most ages will fall in love with, from the young adult to the older audience. All can enjoy this book.

A great read for angel and demon lovers!

Angels, a demon, a sorceress, and only one man left standing. A sacrifice is made, a bargain with a demon has been broken, and a huge battle rages.

This short story starts with a bang and stays that way to the end. I would like to say more, but I don’t want to give away the story! The Angels are tough, the demon is angry, humans have made a mistake, and there is a price to pay!
