Saw at Dallas Theatre Center
The audience laughed their asses off.
I was convinced that more theaters would produced it.
But I don't think that's happen.
I look forward to seeing Rosenstock's next play..

I read this play in High School, and even did a scene from it for....something. I remember I loved it and thought it was one of the greatest plays ever written. Now that I am old and jaded.....I do not think that anymore, but with the right director and cast who -get it- then I can see it being quite strong on stage.

This play doesn’t feel totally fleshed out, and I feel it handles only a surface level discussion of depression and the work of art therapists. And like….. what is going on with the tiger?

Depression can be funny. That's one lesson. It can also overtake us and change us into different people. People make poor choices sometimes, and sometimes we have no idea what's behind those choices. Sometimes people make rational choices and the consequences are devastating. Excellent play. Funny, heartbreaking, introspective.

Interesting take on being a young person, and depression, and sisters. Not sure if a rising tiger is the best way to tie everything together but it may be a metaphor that doesn't get as fleshed out in the reading of the play as it should. Hoping I'll get to see this onstage soon.
