This book was interesting and a very easy read, however I didn't find anything truly enlightening from a management perspective. Perhaps I've helped teach too many sales courses and participated in too many management meetings. I did like how it examined both the good times and the times when the company was experiencing growing pains. It is also nice to have a transparent view into the defining operating priciples of the organization. Overall, worth the read but it probably won't spark any 'oh wow' moments.
I have always been impressed by the quality of Creative Memories' product, but now I am even more impressed by the company itself and its founders, Cheryl Lightle and Rhonda Anderson. Cheryl and Rhonda are obviously two women of solid values, and it shows in the company they helped found. Everyone shoul read this book and learn how it's possible to be successful AND have a values-based business. (Note: Values does NOT necessaritly mean the company has to have a religious goal in mind.) If more companies in the US followed the principles upon which Creatime Memories was founded, we would not be in the financial and moral mess our economy is in these days.
This was written by the founder of Creative Memories, Cheryl Lightle. She writes about the very beginnings of the company and how Creative Memories revolutionized the modern scrapbook industry.
