Mats Wahl (1945-2025) was a Swedish author. He has published 43 books but also written several plays for the theatre, TV programs, novels and movies. Vinterviken (in English: The Winter Bay) is one of his most famous books, which is also a film.
The author of this book is Mats Wahl and the title is Mötet/The Meeting. The book is fiction and the genre of the book is realistic fiction. My mom said I should read this book next because she really recommended it so I ended up reading it.
The story takes place in a fishing camp. The central characters are Emma and Daniel and sometimes the parents or other people which is Sara, Isak and Anders. There is not really a challenge for the central characters. They do not change or evolve through the story. The general plot is that Daniel can't live without internet and his family and another family is at a fishing camp without internet. There is really not any conflict in the book. I don't want to spoil anything interesting that happens in the the book. Emma's mother has died and Daniel's parents are divorced, now they are on a fishing camp where Daniel think everything is boring.
The story didn't make me feel any special. The plot was exciting and believable. The characters seemed real. Nothing was really funny and nothing was really scary. The story made me feel like I was in Daniel's shoes. I did not really learn anything from the story. My favourite part of the book was when Daniel noticed there was no internet there and he got disappointed an mad. I liked to book, the reading age is 9 to 13, I rate the book 10 out of 10. I thought this book would be really boring but it was quite interesting.
