Rate this book
Maia is a panther slayer. She grew up in the Temple of Lacheses because her mother gave her up. At seven she met with the Goddess who resided in the Temple for her position to be decided. "This one will be a panther-killer. Take her away." and so she began her life as a sacred hunter, a female in a band of men who protected the villages.

At nineteen she kills the sacred white panther that has been killing the villages dairy cows. It's heart keeps on beating so as a ritual she must eat it. Thus begins the journey of Maia as a panther shape-shifter

This is not a simple panther shifter story. This is much more monumental. Gods and Goddesses and temples and virgins.

Maia, an orphan born in a temple, sent to live as a panther-hunter when she is 7, grows into a young woman, who is a gifted hunter.

On a panther hunt she kills the sacred white panther to save her companions and everything changes.

The author packed a lot into the novella but I think she needed a better editor as there were some basic mistakes in grammar and formatting.

Will look out for further books by Ms Wilcox.
