Setting: studio in warehouse in Ybor City in Tampa Florida;

Theme:

Characters:
Angela Harris: marketing; own marketing firm; no time for men – she took one lover in college, but was disappointed and never had sex with anyone else; began to suspect Jack as being Dani’s father; has never gotten Jack out of her blood; parents loved her and her sister, but spent a lot of time traveling;

Jack Sullivan: famous photographer; doesn’t believe in love; but has a hole in his life, and when gets invitation to class reunion, he goes hoping to see Angela; growing up son of divorce, and too many boyfriends and ‘uncles’;

Chryssie: Jack and Angela’s classmate; not well liked in school; had a boyfriend; on night of prom, she and Jack out of sorts with their dates and left prom together… woke up in the back seat of Jack’s car, without clothes and with empty beer cans; she is pregnant; lives her life fully, bringing her daughter with her everywhere… when died, her will named Angela as guardian; she never told Angela about her night with Jack; she never told Jack about Dani;

Danae ‘Dani’ Hart Harris: Angela adopted her when she was 4 years old; she is now 9 years old; energetic, sweet, loving;

Summary:
In High School Jack and Angela are sweethearts; but she won’t have sex with him; he blows up at prom (not knowing she had decided to have sex with him)…

10 years later, she wants to get him out of her system, and perhaps judge whether to ask him to take a blood test to determine if he is Dani’s father; he is tired of the jaded, give-me women he knows and decides he wants to see Angela;

So one night turns into a weekend of sex – with some gentle words and touches thrown in; she leaves him thinking they are done… he leaves knowing he is tracking her down… but when she returns, and her VP left the firm with their biggest client, and she is at risk of losing her 2nd best client, she calls Jack – to ask him to be the photographer for her client – knowing that would cinch things; he agrees, but wants her to do as he asks when they are alone – to unlock her passion;

They get closer, but she doesn’t tell him of Dani – until Dani arrives home from camp early (with her sister and cousins); he takes it in stride – and then is excited to possible be Dani’s father…. Ahh

Erotic scenes – sexy leather on a Harley; sex against the door; etc.

This was sweet rather than sexy. The sex could have been a lot hotter if the author had just put a bit more ummph in it. I felt like she was going to lead us there, but then she kind of just glossed around it.

The story is about love lost and love found. It had a nicely wrapped up ending, and you know that everyone lived HEA. However, I felt that the conflict was wrapped up too quickly. The whole book was about letting the guy not find out about something, then he finds out, and the story is wrapped up about 10 pages later. That was a bit of a let down.

It was a fun read, I didn't hate it, but it's not one that I would read again and again.

couldn-t-finish

Couldn't finish. The dialog is kind of cheesy, I just can't get into it. And honestly, the h (a virgin) is getting into a torrid affair with a man whom she really shouldn't (can't divulge why without revealing a spoiler) but she does anyway?

This was a sweet read, a light romance book with enough heat and a couple story twists to keep it interesting.

I checked it out from my digital library, and free is good.

Is it the best more brilliant thing I've read? Not really. Did I enjoy it? Yes, I really did.
