This is an extremely short book...about 15 pages. Jamison has been summoned by his neighbors to run a promotion for their business, MagicMatch. MagicMatch is a dating service with actual magic making it 100% accurate. When their border, Connie, loses her job, they don't ask questions. They just decide Jamison and Connie will make a great couple and push them together to promote their business.

For an incredibly short book, it packs a lot in, but does leave a lot of questions. I wasn't sure where the magic came into play, unlike the first book in the series. The couple has been attracted to each other before the book, but when they get together they combust into a lusty scene of love.

That's about it. We don't see them move on. It just ends there and that is why I had to dock it a grade level. It's just too short and I wanted more.

With the use of magic, Deborah, Dorothea and Delia have successfully matched every person using their online matchmaking service – MatchMagic. However, even with that success, the three witches know they need more customers to ensure their business’ survival. Delia is also concerned about Connie Stanton, Deborah and Dorothea’s border, who’s lost her job. The witches know Connie plans to move out because she can no longer afford the rent. But they’re not having it and they come up with a plan to help Connie make money and also increase their business. The witches decide to use the promotional services of Jamieson Smith, and part of the agreement is that Connie work for him. Connie has no complaints with the arrangement but Jamieson is leery. He’s a confirmed bachelor who lives by certain rules of dating: “Never use the word love. Never date the same woman more than three times….” But he’s lusted after Connie for months and though he knows that working with her will be a complication there’s nothing he can do.

Several months ago I reviewed the first of this series, Enchanted, and I really liked it. I was expecting the same from the sequel, but I was disappointed. There was a hint of magic in the first book, but absolutely none in the second though three of the characters are witches. There was nothing wrong with the set up of the story. Though I’ve read plenty of stories where the male and female protagonists have lusted after each other from afar, it is still possible to give this plot device a twist and keep the story fresh. This plot had the same potential but unfortunately the story was rushed. Once our hero and heroine were alone in the same room the passion ignited, the clothes came off and that was it. I missed the little bit of magic from the first book. I wish Ms. Renard had slowed down the pace of this story and added more plot before throwing the couple into each other’s arms and starting their sexual romp. [www.darkhavenbookreviews.com]
