This was my son's absolute favourite book and was an easy choice to bring to the 'Secret Reader' session they had in his reception class. (A parent, grandparent etc were invited in to read a book of their choice to the class and none of the children know who it is going to be until you walk through the door)! I am not sure that his friends loved the book as much as he did, but the idea of this little monster not being intimidated by a big monster when the rest of the town was, and the monster facing up to him, makes for a good story. That and the repeated love of jam on nearly every page!

Such a great read for kids! It's funny how the ending turned out 😂. Love the colourful illustrations and vocabulary used in this. Love the fonts as well!
Some of the vocab used in this I considered quite hard for ESL students in the beginner level. Especially if they're not exposed to vocabs or reading books everyday. Nonetheless, it's a good read for kids!
