Rebecca Chance was born in Hampstead to international art dealer parents, and grew up in the exclusive millionaire’s row surroundings of London’s St John’s Wood. Tiring of her cushioned, privileged existence, she ran away to Tuscany to live a wild bohemian life on a wine-making estate, where she lived in a 14th century villa in a Chianti vineyard, partying with artists, learning Italian, and picking grapes. But big city life was calling her, and after staying in Rome and Porto Ercole, she moved to Manhattan, lured by the glamorous single-girl existence and nonstop nightlife. She spent a decade living the Sex and The City dream in SoHo, equally at home in an uptown penthouse on Fifth Avenue overlooking the Metropolitan Museum, or downtown dancing on the bar of the Coyote Ugly for kicks. Eventually, a handsome American husband in tow, she moved back to London to settle down (as much as she can) and finally fictionalize some of her most exciting and glamorous experiences into her bestselling blockbuster novels.
Rebecca’s interests include trapeze, pole-dancing, watching "America’s Next Top Model", and cocktail-drinking.

A few days before Christmas several individuals are residing in a super-luxury London apartment building. Two of them have recently undergone plastic surgery, and have seriously disfigured faces, so are living in seclusion while their bruises and swellings go down. Melody is an ambitious actress, while Jon is a former CIA hit man, who has undergone facial surgery to disguise his identity permanently. The link between these two is the plain, pleasant, competent Polish nurse Aniela, who tends to their wounds daily and who befriends both of them.

In the glamorous penthouse at the top of the building resides the Russian tycoon Grigor, with his family, his band of goonish security guards and his bad-tempered PA Sergei. Grigor owns a UK football team, and he plans to celebrate the Festive Season with many of his players and their Wives And Girlfriends. Unbeknown to him, his estranged wife, the truly ghastly Dasha, has plans to bring about his downfall. Grigor recruits the building’s gay concierge Andy into helping with the very lavish Christmas festivities in a major way.

Thus Rebecca Chance sets up the five main characters of her story, Melody, Aniela, Jon, Grigor and Andy, through whose eyes we experience the goings-on in the building from 22nd December to New Year’s Eve in alternating chapters.

There is hot romance in the frosty air of wintry London, with Melody pining for her lost love, James, who is the current Dr Who, Aniela and Jon falling passionately in lust, and Andy getting his rocks off with one of Grigor’s soccer players in a vacant apartment.

There is also a generous serving of sleaze, courtesy of Dasha and her toy boy, Grigor’s stable of up-market call girls, and from the plastic surgeon Dr Nassri who puts in a brief cameo appearance. The many sex scenes are quite racy and titillating, thanks to the author’s skill in writing these encounters very credibly.

As well as being a well-constructed romance novel, Bad Angels is a great comedy. There are many episodes that had me smiling, chuckling, then laughing out loud. In particular, scenes involving the Russians are hilarious, as Chance exploits with gusto that well-known stereotype of the Russian Mafia thugs and the sleazy Russian oligarchs. She is equally mischievous in her portrayals of the cliched professional football players and their WAGs, with their breast implants, tight tops and caked-on make-up.

This is quite a long book at 500+ pages, but it is an easy, entertaining read. If I had one criticism of Chance’s writing it is that she goes on a bit too much at some points. There are very elaborate descriptions of Grigor’s penthouse and his parties, which become a little tedious. I thought some of the characters’ internal thoughts, ‘will she, should I, but what about X,Y,Z?’ are a bit too long and waffly. A tighter edit, resulting in the lost of 30-40 pages would have made the story a bit more gripping.

But that is a minor gripe. Bad Angels is a highly entertaining novel, full of interesting characters and lots of amusing scenes. 4★s

Okay, I am going to admit something very shameful here – This is my first Rebecca Chance book. But less than ten pages in I was literally screaming at myself “Where have I been and how have I not tried this author before?!”

Rebecca Chance effortlessly writes a book that has the reader gripped from the first few pages. I was completely hooked to the story, nobody could drag me away from it! I even took to carrying the book everywhere with me in case I had a few moments to fit in a few pages of reading, and I was staying up late at night in bed glued to the words! Wow.

The characters are brilliantly written. Rebecca Chance writes each character with so much depth and personality that they all spring to life. The amount of detail given to every character was perfect as I could clearly see them all in my mind, and it made the story so much more enjoyable as I could picture every single scene and got lost in the story. I don’t want to say too much about the characters or storyline as I don’t want to give anything away, but the writing is fantastic, the story is fast-paced and at the end I felt like I had been on the most thrilling ride of my life.

Bad Angels has everything you could want in a bonkbuster. There’s a lot of sex, and I mean loads! Drop your 50 Shades of Grey and pick up this book immediately, because the sex scenes in this book are a whole lot sexier and steamier, trust me! In Bad Angels we are also given lots of glamour, celebrities, a gripping storyline and scandal – Perfect for readers who want to sit down and escape into their books for many glorious hours! As for me, I’m now off to purchase Rebecca’s other books! This book is fun, it is saucy, it is dangerous and it is steamy – a must-read.

Melody is a famous actress recovering from reverse cosmetic surgery at an expensive and glamorous wharf building in London. Melody wants nothing more than to look like her before self, and to get her boyfriend back. At the same wharf, another individual whose identity is a mystery, is also recovering from plastic surgery. Aniela, who is a nurse looking after both patients over the Christmas period, is intrigued by the mysterious individual, not only because he is a faceless person, but also because Aniela's heartbeat picks up just looking at his body.

When the owner of the Kensington football team, the oligarch Grigor Khalofsky, decides to throw a last-minute Christmas party for all the residents at the wharf (whoever is still in the building over the holidays), Andy, the concierge staff, leaves no stone unturned to make this the most memorable party for anyone attending, as per Grigor's request.

As usual, Rebecca Chance writes a funny, sexy, salacious, and dazzling read where so many people cross paths with each other, with some blackmail and hot romance thrown in there. Every character gets an ample amount of time, and I loved reading everyone's backstory.

The writing was witty with lush descriptions and just amusing to read. The book held my interest at all times. The only thing missing was a murder, but otherwise, this was a delightful read.

I enjoyed the appearance of the McKenna (Devon more than Deeley) sisters, even though I didn't enjoy their book.

Bad Angels begins with Melody. It’s the 22nd December. Last year she was voted the most beautiful AND sexiest woman in Britain but when we meet her, she’s not only bruised and splintered but she’s also very miserable. Trying to put right the mistakes she has made, as part of that, she’s had reversals of the procedures she had to have done for a movie.

We find out more about Limehouse Wharf through nurse Aniela. As she checks Jon’s wounds, she suspects he is hiding something. From Jon we find out about his background and the past he is hiding.

Grigor is full of bonhomie but underneath that lies an acute sense of survival. Dasha, his estranged wife, has knowledge about Dr Nassri which is a very powerful tool! Andy, the concierge, shares Grigor’s love of Christmas and becomes instrumental in putting into place all the things that symbolise the season.

Once our characters are in place, we become involved in their lives. Narrated in the third person in alternating chapters, the reader identifies with them all. As the days pass, leading to Christmas and New Year, the plot and sub-plots build causing conflict and tension.

I really enjoy Chance’s writing style… and once again, she has given me pure escapism! With Melody I had the opportunity to experience the acting world, Jon gave me a sense of espionage and Grigor into his luxurious world. I loved Aniela’s character – the way she could read body language and how balanced and centred she was. I also loved that Devon from Bad Sisters (you can read my review here) is in a scene. Great to hear how she was getting on!

The sex was an interesting mix – an inexperienced male, gay sex (if this offends you be warned but it is very well written – including the emotions), a brief window into S & M and an orgy.

There is plenty of conflict to engage the reader. Not only with the leads but also with secondary characters. Even though the majority of the story takes place at Limehouse Wharf, there is so much happening there is no time to be bored. Alongside the action there’s the party on Boxing Day and the magnificent climax on New Year’s Eve where everyone got exactly what they deserved. What more could you want for an escape at this time of year?

I would like to thank the publishers for providing a copy in exchange for an honest review.

TBH I found this hard work at first. Five protagonists: Aniela, a private nurse; Jon and Melody, her patients; Andy, the concierge at the exclusive block where they are recuperating, and one of the residents, oligarch Khalofsky, who adores Christmas. Although set over the last ten days of December, and with a focus on Christmas decor, this is not a festive story. What it is, is a thriller, a multiple love story, (f/m & m/m) and ultimately an enjoyable feel-good tale

Bad Angels and Killer Heels are completely different. Killer Heels is more on fashion, the bitch-boss from hell, the fast-paced city of Manhattan, whereas Bad Angels focuses on films, plays and celebrities, the not-so-peaceful tranquillity of Limehouse Reach. Both different plots and set of characters but the only thing that makes it a "Rebecca novel" is, undoubtedly the sex. Shhhh.

Honest to truth, Rebecca Chance is quickly become one of my favourite bonkbuster writers. She has a certain flair in writing through her characters and that's really something if you're writing from different points of view. Although she writes from various perspectives, she cleverly incorporates the storyline into the character's personal lives, as the characters' backgrounds are woven together to allow the plot to have more depth.

Bad Angels was a really enjoyable read for me as it was a perfect mix of sex, scandal, blackmail and of course, murder. Although it proved to be a saucy, scandalous Christmas-themed novel, it was totally worth staying up to finish it. I wouldn't want to give much away but every character has their own side of the story, which builds up to an epic finale. The suspense towards the end was palpable and utterly thrilling as I was so hoping for the ending I want, though it didn't end the way I wanted it to, only better.

I'll go through each character briefly to give you a feel of what to expect in this sizzling novel, though you'd be surprised. Melody; sweet and innocent but unfortunately naive. Serenaded by the siren song of LA and the glitz of Hollywood, gets a terrible makeover and has returned to London to fix the mistakes she had made. And also to win her boyfriend back. Aniela, Polish nurse, hardworking, caring but lives a sad, morbid life of taking care of rich, broken patients until she meets Jon, man of many mysteries. Grigor Khalofsky, host of legendary parties and very bad man, but has a good heart at the same time. And his wife, oh my. That cow, I hated her so much.

I do have a particular favourite part, sorry: parts. I have so many! From the sizzling hot gay sex scene to the wonderfully romantic part where Melody wins James's heart back. Sigh. Just like Killer Heels, which a part of it focuses on homosexuality, Bad Angels did have that particular element and it was so good. It really plays a part in today's society as more and more homosexuals are coming out. I did enjoy the last part, so much drama and what an action-thriller!

Bad Angels was THE bonkbuster for me this year. Sorry, Rebecca. I loved Killer Heels as it was so high fashion and glamorous but nothing can beat the sparkle of a delicious saucy Christmas read. Naughty, sexy and downright irresistible! And keep watch, guys. Rebecca Chance is one to look out for. Her next one will be about naughty Princes and their royal mess!

I was a little disappointed with this read as it did not deliver a feel-good romance that I was expecting for the Christmas season. Three storylines crossed over in the novel and the one featuring the actress, Melody Down, was a little static and predictable. The storyline featuring Anelia and Jon was a little more interesting and my interest in them is what kept me reading. Bad Angels read a little like the novels written by Jackie Collins which feature a lot of sex, scandals, and extravagant behaviour. I was looking, instead, for a novel which focuses instead on the positive characteristics of people. This is not a story I would read again. The romance in the novel was okay, but the sex scenes appear too frequently for my taste.

I happened upon this book in our work library and was surprised I had not read or heard of Rebecca Chance before now. The book didn't pull me in straight away. However a few chapters in and I gound I loved plucky Aniela and was rooting for her. Melody was someone I had a little sympathy for, and Jon a total mystery. The other characters were a mixed bunch who a gutsy darker side to the plot. To my surprise I didn't turn from the odd glimpse of s & m or the gay love scenes. I didn't find much humour in the story but it worked as it flowed nicely from one character to another.
I enjoyed Rebecca's easy reading, style of writing and will happily read more of her work in the future.

The premise of the story was good, but I was put off by the 'naughty bum sex' in graphic detail that I honestly found unnecessary!

TBH I'm surprised I finished this book.

There was more sex than story, or at least story that seemed to go anywhere ... bit disappointing tbh. I was hoping for Jilly Cooper-esque and got more low budget porn.

This is a really good book. It is full of everything from drama, sex scandal, and romance. I did find it hard to get into at first due to the multiple characters introduced but soon got gripped and then couldn’t put it down. This book would make a great film. I also think the writer could easily write further books based on the individual characters themselves.

Really sad that I didn’t enjoy this book. The ending was good but it took so long to get there, less characters would have been better. Shame because her other books are amazing. Just felt like it could have been 200 pages shorter to get to the story!

The only way I can describe Rebecca Chance books is that they are similar to her covers with the glitzy shoes on them. Imagine being online shopping and seeing a sexy new pair of shoes that you just HAVE to have, you go through the excitement of waiting for them to be delivered, and then the first time you wear them is sheer joy, sexiness and glamour all rolled into one! I feel the same way about a gorgeous pair of shoes as I do Rebecca Chance books. Sorry for that but I just HAD to describe them as there are sometimes no other words to get across the way a book makes the reader feel!

Her latest offering Bad Angels is by far her naughtiest and is certainly a brilliant read. The first thing I must point out is that this book DOES contain scenes of (very) graphic sex. It doesn't bother me in the slightest but if it's not your bag, then please don't buy it and then complain about it! Rebecca Chance is the Jackie Collins of the current book world in my eyes. She does it all, glamour, sex and celebrities. It's all complete and utter escapism and these sorts of books I just love.

This latest offering introduces us to the first two main characters. Melody Down is an actress who has slightly lost her way after falling for what Hollywood had to offer. After too much plastic surgery she comes back to England to have her original plastic surgery corrected and is recovering in Limehouse Wharf. Also in residence at Limehouse is Jon Jordan, an assassin for hire who is also convalescing. The glue that moulds these two together is the in-house nurse Aniela Fatyga. Melody was an easy character to get right into; slightly overwhelmed with the mistakes she has made you can't help but feel a little sorry for her as she tries to correct her past mistakes. Jon is another kettle of fish and is very cautious of all those around him. Rebecca Chance's very vivid description of Jon Jordan is something else though, and for anybody else who reads this book he will no doubt be a hunk of the highest kind (phew...as I wipe my brow).

The no-nonsense nurse Aniela is a funny character who is actually my favourite. She is a woman that isn't traditionally pretty but has that something about her. I loved the fact that we get to see how these three meet and get to know each other very early on. The other characters are Andy the concierge for the building who I loved from the get go and the Russian oligarch Grigor Khalofsky who lives in the building. So much happens in this storyline that I was alternating between blushing and laughing and found myself reading it in just under a day and a half. There are no hidden meanings to this story; it's just a brilliant `Bonkbuster' at its best!

I can honestly say that this is one of my favourites from Rebecca Chance so far. It did have me hiding my book whilst I commuted on the train (for the incredibly raunchy scenes anyway), but it also had me hook line and sinker in terms of not wanting to put it down. It has everything I love in a book like this. Lots of glamour, lots of celebrities acting inappropriately and bucket loads of sex. What more can I say, the perfect Bonkbuster that I suggest you pick up from your nearest book shop ASAP.

Having spent the last week and a bit reading all of Rebecca Chance's books before the release of Killer Queens, I can now say that Bad Angels is the most outrageous of the lot! And definitely my favourite. It had a fantastic cast of characters and some unbelievable storylines.

I loved the setting of this book. Limehouse Wharf is a huge skyscraper in London housing apartments which only the vulgarly rich can afford. Next to the apartment block is the Canary Clinic where rich people come to have work done before recuperating inside Limehouse Wharf in one of the two apartments that the clinic own. Inside apartment one is Melody Dale, an actress coming home from LA to get her former face and former boyfriend back. Melody was probably my least favourite character and the one I cared least about.

Inside the Canary Clinic's second apartment is Jon Jordan, a former hitman. Looking after these two characters is Aniela, a Polish nurse having troubles of her own and who is more than happy to spend Christmas and New Year alone looking after these two patients.

Also with an apartment in the Wharf is Grigor, a Russian oligarch who owns Kensington football club and is in town to throw a huge Christmas party for his football team. At the start of the book you find yourself wondering how all these characters are going to interact but it soon becomes clear with the introduction of Grigor's estranged wife who turns up at the door of Jon Jordan with a proposition. Other characters include Andy, the Wharf's concierge, Sergei, Grigor's right hand man and Wayne, England's most famous and best footballer. The book also features a gay storyline and I absolutely loved the

Overall though the book was outrageous and immensely enjoyable which is all you want from books like this. It was a long read though and I did feel it could be shorter. I stand by what I said earlier though and this probably was my favourite Chance book so far, and finished just in time for the release of Killer Queens which promises to be another fantastic book.

One final thing I feel is worth mentioning is that whilst Chance's books are standalone reads, her characters appear to live in the same world. She likes mentioning previous characters in her books and this one gave away a bit part of Bad Sisters. So people new to Rebecca Chance should start with Divas and read the books in order to avoid potential spoilers of other books and because they are amazing!

Firstly I’d like to thank Sophie at ed pr for sending me this paperback book to read and give an honest review. I was really looking forward to getting stuck in after reading and enjoying Bad Girls and Killer Heels by the same author. I love the distinctive covers on books by Rebecca Chance but this is my particular favourite as the heels are very similar to a pair I have in my own shoe collection.

Set over the Christmas period, I quickly fell into the storyline. The characters were all appealing which made me want to know more about them – Melody seemed very lost and lonely and after reading about her life I instantly cared about her welfare, I just wanted things to go as she had planned. Aniela was fab, she was a straight-talker who ended up being one of my favourite characters, her reaction to Jon was very amusing and I found myself hooked on their relationship throughout the whole book. Grigor’s obsession with Christmas was brilliant, he regularly made me smile with his festive singing and Christmassy decorating.

Something else I really enjoyed were the inner thoughts – I always like to know what a character is thinking and what isn’t being said so this was a perfect addition for me. The book gave an interesting insight into the sleazier side of acting/football and the fascinating yet dangerous world of an assassin, the author successfully mixed all of these different scenes together and made it feel normal! The gathering on Christmas day was a good example of this, I loved seeing how everyone’s lives began to intertwine.

The ending was really fast-paced and action-packed, it made my heart beat faster as I pictured the exciting scene unfolding before me and I wondered if it would finish in the way I hoped it would.

This bonkbuster is not for the faint-hearted, it contains in-depth sexual scenes of all kinds including gay sex, this is something that I haven’t come across in many of the books that I’ve read but it was all well written and just added to the overall effect of the book. The author tackled many difficult subjects with ease and I was pulled into this dark yet glamorous world as though I had always been there.

This is an alternative Christmas read with a dark and sexual edge, perfect for fans of the increasingly popular erotica genre.

A festive tale with a difference…

I was lucky enough to be given Rebecca Chance’s new festive novel at the Simon and Schuster bloomer’s event that I attended back in October, so when December rolled around I thought I would give it a go! Having not read any of Chance’s other novels, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had been told that they were definitely on the racy side, and I was not let down on that front, but what I wasn’t prepared for was the intricate storyline. The plot of this book could be compared to a Hollywood movie. The twists and turns that go on, and the seemingly unbelievable things that the characters get themselves into are just phenomenal. I have no idea where she got some of her ideas from, but it is definitely one of the most exciting and original storylines that I have encountered in a long time!

I do have to admit that I found the book a little slow to get started. It is a hefty 516 pages, and I didn’t find myself gripped until around about page 200, however, once I got to grips with all the different storylines that were going on and warmed to some of the characters, I really began to enjoy the plot, and HAD to keep turning pages in order to find out what was going to happen. The descriptions of the events and the settings are really in-depth, and that is something I really enjoy as a reader, and as for the sex scenes, they too were well described, and didn’t feel smutty or tasteless, but realistic and completely believable!

The book is written with each character getting their own chapter, and that chapter describing events that went on from that characters point of view, which, I think, always makes for a slightly quicker read as each chapter is not overly long. I really enjoyed this aspect of the book, although I did find that there was one character I didn’t like, so tended to skim their chapters occasionally to move on to one of the other residents of ‘Limehouse Wharf’. Overall I would say that this book has something for everyone, crime, sex, plastic surgery and of course, a touch of romance! I would definitely consider reading more of Rebecca Chance’s novels in the future.

This is an action-packed bonkbuster and the guys are fit and ripped, the sex is hot, heavy, frequent and varied, and yay for that! But Bad Angels is much more. It has the signature qualities of Rebecca Chance books like her previous Killer Heels which make it a bonkbuster with value added. I've never bothered with other writers of the genre before as the characters always seemed vacuous and boring. However Rebecca Chance creates a range of characters with many types of backstory and body shape, with wishes, dreams, fears and failings, so that we care about what happens to them and can identify with them, following them into outlandish experiences and settings, and either cheering them on, or desperate to see them get their comeuppance. We get bitchy crazy villainesses and larger than life bad guys, but we also get human stories amid the affluence - characters from all walks of life, sexual preferences, and levels of society. Chance isn't scared to go into territory from which the fashion world she seems to know so well would run screaming: as well as skinny celebs, both likeable and unspeakable, there are all sorts of taboos of the genre shattered far and wide. Read it and you'll see! As in Killer Heels, too, crime is part of the rich and sensuous mix. No spoilers here so I'll say no more about that... A fine balance of moneyed fantasy, crime, believable emotions, comedy and truly hectic action both sexual and otherwise is kept by quite simply good writing, pacy, tight, and well-constructed. There is a sharp intelligence observing this incredibly wealthy fantasy world, and a subtle underlying warmth and sense of ultimate values which shines through. Rather like Arnold Bennett, the author seems to love her characters, which makes it easy for us to engage with them, and makes this book with its bizarre Christmas setting a truly festive feast for the senses. And unlike Arnold Bennett, the sex is hot, heavy, frequent and varied... oh I said that before, well it's worth saying twice!

Bad Angels is another naughty but nice read from Rebecca Chance. Set over Christmas and New Year, Bad Angels is full of the excitement and joy of the season, courtesy of Khalovsky and Limehouse Reach's concierge, Andy. Khalovsky is like an overgrown kid as he enlists Andy, who equally enjoys everything about Christmas, to transform the place into a winter wonderland with over sized trees, wreaths and a railway track to transport his guests' children around his vast apartment. I loved their energy and enthusiasm as they tried to engage those around them in the festivities.

But Bad Angels isn't your typical fun festive read as Dasha Khalovsky goes on the rampage, plotting revenge and murder. I spent most of the book switches allegiances with Dasha. To begin with I thought she was a wonderful pantomime villainous bitch - witty, vengeful and used to getting what she wants but it soon transpired she was ruthless and more than a little unhinged. As mad as Dasha is, she creates some brilliant action packed chapters towards the end of the book.

One of my favourite characters was the concierge, Andy. He is introduced quite gently to begin with as he helps Khalovsky transform Limehouse Reach for Christmas but I was pleased when he featured more and more and ended up with his own storyline. Alongside the elaborately rich and famous, Andy is normal and down to earth and, most important of all, secure in who he is. The one-sided rivalry between Andy and Khalovsky's PA, Sergei, was very amusing.

I also really enjoyed Jon and Aniela's storyline and their blossoming relationship is rather sweet once you get past the rampant bedroom antics! Although Andy, Jon and Aniela's stories were my favourite, I didn't find any of the storylines or characters weak and enjoyed them all.

Liked the book but thought it was a little long for a comedy/romance/bad guys. 516 pages is like when I read Gone With The Wind! Or something like it. I found it entertaining and kept cheering for the man that just wanted to go live in the country on his ranch. Sex scenes were good. But the story about the young actress seemed to get kind of stuck in here and there and not given more time. Maybe it just felt like it didn't belong in here because it really didn't interact with any other of the characters, for the most part, except the nurse. I got a little overwhelmed by the constant overkill of designer names for everything that was being describe. You could save a lot of pages just by cutting most of that out! It seemed like letting the reader know that we were reading about the super rich with a few designer names thrown in would have been enough, but it goes on through the whole book. The writer seemed to put a lot of time with the weight and size of everyone. The man with the surgery is all about his rock hard body, yet, by the time you finish the book, his face is still unrecognizable and we never find out what he looks like. The real letdown for me was, that this book was 516 pages long, but the last chapter was like jamming everyone in at the last minute and "TA DA"! They all live happily ever after. I thought that if you write a book that's over 500 pages, you could at least finish out everyone's story with more detail and move them along. Instead, well, you get what you got.

Bad Angels was sent to me for review by the publisher, and I'm very glad they did. It's not quite what you'd call erotica - I believe it's classed as a bonkbuster. Basically, it contains sex scenes which are a little graphic, but not too full on.

The book tells the story of a luxury apartment building in London, which houses celebrities, oligarchs and other people who have the ridiculous amount of cash required to live there. There's also a very high quality plastic surgery clinic next door, and it owns some of the apartments so those who wish to recuperate in extreme privacy may do so - and there are also nurses at hand to administer their after care. It's Christmas time, and there's an awful lot happening in Limehouse Wharf. Broken hearts, divorce, marriage, attempted assassinations, love, unexpected love... it's all going on.

I really enjoyed Bad Angels. I haven't read anything by Rebecca Chance before, but I'll definitely seek out her work in the future. Her writing flows really well, it's very engaging and the humour thrown in had me laughing out loud on more than one occasion. It's a long book, but it certainly didn't feel that way - each chapter had me eager to read the next, to find out if the residents and staff of Limehouse Wharf had a happy Christmas and New Year. Definitely recommended if you like your books with sex, scandal and humour.

I probably just wasn't in the right frame of mind for reading this since it otherwise has good reviews, it just wasn't my cup of tea. I couldn't get into the silliness, it's June so I wasn't feeling the Christmassy-ness (my fault!), I noticed straight away the lengthy descriptions of the luxurious surroundings, use of as many designer names as possible and in-context-but-in-your-face-knowledge-dropping(e.g. randomly pointing out that child gymnasts are selected for training up based on their parents height and previous family genetics with the hope that they don't grow too tall right before a short man jumps over a table to kiss someone)- and then through the rest of the book each one of these points grated a bit.

The storylines and different characters all clashed, leading to a silliness that is obviously funny for other reviewers, but that I just couldn't get into - separately, some of story arcs were an easy read.

My very first ever rebecca Chance novel and i have to say i'll definately be looking in my local library for her other novels.
If you love romance,drama,laughing...and most importantly sex! then this is the novel for you.
I love all the characters but especially Aneila, she reminds me of myself....
I like the fact that it portrays the gay sex scene as well as hetrosexual relationships, but did find the footballer coming out a bit cliche. I can't see this being reflected in real life til attitudes in sport change dramtically.
You really believe that there are Russian woman like Dasha and this is actually quite scary.
All in all this is a cracking read and am looking forward to Killer heels, which i've already ordered now!

The characters are entertaining and appealing - either because you can identify with them or love to hate them - but they are not particularly believable because they are too one-dimensional. The plot is action-packed (and not just of the sexual kind !) but fairly predictable and lacking in realism.

Bad angels is one of those books that you just can't seem to put down and once it's over you wish you had read it more slowly. It's a fabulously devilish naughty read that gets your pulse running. A definite recommendation for any one who loves a naughty read. Already waiting for the next Rebecca Chance instalment.
