The honest, natural, uncontrived mood of the imagery targets individuals within the growing popularity of recreational cooking and domestic entertaining. Articles connect readers with the creative individuals behind restaurant meals, and encourage a simplified way of approaching their own entertaining at home.
Articles weren't as well-written as some of the other volumes, but I particularly enjoyed the ode to artisan cheese and the satirical piece on aesthetic camping - Kinfolk has no problem poking fun at itself while still celebrating the harmony of gatherings.
I think volume #1 was a #1 hit. But with subsequent issues the content seems to be getting not-as-great. Sorry ... I feel like I can't be a photographer and feel this way :/
