This book was very good. It's the fourth book in this series and I definitely see the series increasing in quality with every edition.

The first book was called "Ghost Town" and while it was okay, the main reason I liked it was because it had the most references and descriptions of the Jersey Shore - a place near and dear to my heart. (I grew up going to various beach towns on the Jersey Shore with my family) Sara moves from CA to New Jersey with her Dad and they rent the top two floors of an old Victorian house, much like you would see in Cape May, NJ, I think, from Lady Azura.

Lady Azura is a psychic and I could never really understand why Sara was so reluctant to talk of her powers to Lady Azura. At the very least, it seemed logical to me that Lady Azura would be understanding of it, unlike Sara's Dad, whom she feels would not understand. So Sara has been going around seeing Spirits for the span of 3 books and no one knows. I felt bad for her, that's a lot for a 12 year old to deal with.

Book 3, "Mischief Night", was a very good Halloween story. The very real Haunted House that Sara has been living in is the perfect setting for a Halloween Party. This was also the first book that we had any indication that things might not be what they seem. But the hints were vague and I did not see what was coming.

In books like this about kids with special powers, the parents are often clueless. Up until now, Sara's Dad has seemed like your typical, well-meaning, but totally clueless Dad. But as it turns out, he's not that clueless after all to what's been going on, and he even has a few secrets of his own! It turns out that Lady Azura is not just your random landlord! That was a pretty amazing turn of events.

This book, especially, is the best one so far due to the lovely Christmas theme. With Christmas approaching, Sara seems to be seeing a lot more Spirits than usual. She learns from Lady Azura, that there is a window of opportunity for Spirits to visit Earth in the 12 days before Christmas. It seems that they have this time to come back and visit or check in with their loved ones, even if most people cannot see them. But even if we can't see them, this is why we often think about our loved ones so much more and may even feel their presence with us more at this time of year. I really like this explanation very much, and it even seems to make Sara less afraid of the Spirits she has been seeing. Usually she runs away and doesn't want to speak to them. But I think now she is learning that she can help these Spirits, and their living loved ones in a way that most cannot.

This book had a very mature tone to it. I was getting the feeling that this series might just be on that Harry Potter level with appeal to all ages because of the excellent writing. With each book I read, I only want to read the next one that much more! I'm looking forward to #5, which is called "Moment of Truth."

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE PART ABOUT THE OLD COUPLE AT THE MALLLLL & LADY AZURA’S PART WITH FRANKLIN. SO FREAKING CUTE.
The only downside was that Sara was way too slow on this book ngl. She was like ‘I won’t help you bc I don’t know what you want, bc I don’t know what the word betrothed means’. Like GIRLLLL you have a phone, just look it upppp.
But yeah 🙂‍↕️. I’ll repeat these books are entertaining and FOR CHILDREN, so the decisions made by the author are understandable. I can’t be a harsh judge since I’m not the target audience. Plus this books are taking me out of a reading slump :).

Sara has an interesting holiday season.
She learns more about the people in her life and who Lady Azura really is to her.
It was the first time I heard about Chriskindl. I would have liked more information on her.

Sara is happy in her new home in Stellamar, NJ. She has friends and a maybe boyfriend. She is happy that her father has found a girlfriend even though said girlfriend is the mother of the resident mean girl at school. And she has found kinship with Lady Azure, the landlord who is a psychic and knows Sara's secret. Sara can see and talk to ghosts. As Christmas approaches, Sara learns that there is a window of time when the spirits of those who have moved on can come back to visit their loved ones. Will Sara get a ghostly visit from the mother she never knew?

I love Sara and her friends. I love the funky seashore town she lives in. And I really love ghost stories and these are very good. There is the beginning of a sweet romance. These are great for tweens.

I like these books. They are great for 10-13-year-olds that are starting to think about friendships. They are clean and enjoyable to read. Since the main character can see ghosts, she often has some problem she is trying to solve for them. In this book, she gets to help her own great-grandmother and it is touching to see how she handles her dad dating a woman with a child she does not like and how she tries to understand her dad's feelings and not just her own. There are some good lessons to be learned in this book. Really great reads.

This was another good addition to the Saranormal series, which I'm slowly working my way through. This one takes place at Christmas time and a longheld family secret is finally revealed to Sara. This secret has definitely helped progress the story line, and I'm interested to see where it will go now. Things also progress with Sara's love interest, Jayden... so lots of change and progress in this entry to the series!

True rating: 4.5 stars.

This series is consistently outstanding, each book being well-written and each plot differing from what has come before. Best of all, it is easy to get behind Sara and root for her. She's one of those characters who, if you met her in real life, you'd instantly take a liking to.
