Great guide to the music industry, the writing is a little bit dry and difficult to understand at times (for non legalese fluent people like me at least) but it is to be expected as it is mostly regarding laws and regulations but it sets out a great overview of the music industry in the UK especially.
This book is definitely worth reading through! The topics covered in this book can help beginners understand the basics of music business or refresh business concepts for professionals.
4.5 stars. Phenomenal guide for anyone wanting to enter the music business. I just wish it was written in an even more accessible manner as at times you get lost in the complexities of the UK law.
This book could be considered the UK-based companion to Passman’s ‘All You Need to Know About the Music Business’. The author of this book is a lawyer, specialising in music and entertainment law, and has knowledge and experience. Constant updates in new editions mean the cases and laws examined are relevant. Highly recommended.
