I really liked this series with Red's story in the 1st 3 and then Yellow in the next 4. The story is about the journey with Red receiving a Pokedex and a Pokemon from Professor Oak, a researcher of Pokemon. Red meets Blue and starts collecting Gym Badges to prove he is as good as Blue is. When the final battle between Red and the leader of an evil organization Team Rocket, Giovanni, his story comes to a conclusion. In the next 4 mangas, Red has disappeared and his only surviving Pokemon, Pikachu, goes on a mission with Yellow to go find him. When they get caught up with the plans of the Elite Four, Yellow must use his powers given to him by the Viridian Forest to save the entire region. This series was funny, and epic and had the best writing and storytelling than most other manga these days.

This is actually the 3rd Manga(Japanese Comic Book) that I have read. I love the Pokemon games, the books, the collectible cards, and the show. It features the main character, Red, with his friends/rivals, Yellow and Blue. Of course, the Pokemon are also the main characters. Pokemon like Pikachu, Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, Snorlax and way other more.

The manga that the Pokemon deserves and infinitely better than the piss poor anime, this series made me fall in love with Pokemon all over again. Changing the Pokemon story arc recipe so that the morals and alignments of each character aren't so black and white, focusing on more than just one trainer with their differing ways of training, and fitting a new story as well as an abundance of familiar characters into a short series are just a few of the ways this series improves on Pokemon as a whole.

Rtc. The main connecting theme of this arc is essentially “ecofacism is toxic, and an easy trap to fall into. Humans may have destroyed the environment but we still have the ability to fix what we’ve done, and it doesn’t mean humanity is wrong to exist”. An unexpectedly relevant theme to today’s world, especially with COVID reigniting some ecofacist ideology.

1st, 6th & 7th volumes were 5 stars but the others were 4 stars.
Half way through I didn’t think I was going to continue past volume 7 but I am now very interested to continue on. Got very addicting towards the end!

I am a hardcore fan of Pokémon and this manga change a lot of "untouchable" subjects in the Pokémon canon, BUT I love the essence of the battles and the relation between Red and his Pokémon.

Very nostalgic! Pikachu is pretty much a yellow bean and it’s adorable

Overall a great read. Some minor annoyances in characters and story-wise but the positives definitely outweigh the negatives.

Because the Pokemon world just can't get any bigger, better, or more expansive in its universe--here we have yet another adventure that's everything I want in my own life. Am I technically old enough to legally drink in the United States? Yes. Do I still imagine my life as a new Pokemon trainer setting out for the first time with her trusty sidekick? Yes.

I had fun reading it as a kid. Had fun reading it as an adult. Volume 3 was probably my favorite. Yellow is amazing.

There is only one complain I have with this series: Why aren't they longer!?!?!?

'Nuff said.

Good take on the series. May get Gold and Silver saga in the future since it's not an expensive purchase

I love pokemon!! I've always wanted to read pokespe, and last year, I went to disney and bought a bunch!! It was the best choice I ever made. Pokemon has been my special interest (and still is -- thanks autism) since I was in 2nd grade.

When i first played pokemon heart gold, I faced red atop of Mount Silver. I've always wondered what his life story was and fantasized about it, along with his pikachu. My old best friend would talk to me about him and we'd pretend to be Gary and Red while fighting.

Being able to see Red's journey made me super happy. When I go back to Disney World, I plan to buy more pokespe while continuing my tradition of buying pokemon plushes (so far i have minccino, snivy, pikachu, and eevee).
