Really enjoyed this one. The heroine was gutsy, flirty and loved how she was the one who proposed a marriage of convenience, she needed him to back off her business while he needed her respectability.
The hero was closed off and he had reason to be, his dream world exploded when it turned out his dad was a scammer and his mom a possible accomplice, who disappeared without a word. He has spent the last decade building his mining business but people have long memories.
Overall I loved their marriage, it was obvious it was more than physical between them and it was good that the hero didn't try to deny it.

MARRYING THE ENEMY is a story I thoroughly enjoyed. It provided light moments along with scenes that provoked significant emotion. The give and take in the dialogue between Ruby and Jax is very enjoyable. Nicola Marsh brought a heroine in Ruby who had no hang ups in getting close and personal with Jax. She is sassy and fearless while Jax, though an alpha and gorgeous turns out to be a sensitive hero. This story had both smoking hot sex, sensuality and emotional connection between the characters.

Cute and heartwarming
I really liked this one. Jax and Ruby were such a great pair. Ruby was such a lovely character, and I appreciated Jax. Plus the wedding as a business arrangement... Classic.

A gran sorpresa, qualche giorno fa, eccomi recapitare a casa uno dei quattro libri che hanno inaugurato la nuova collana dell’Harlequin Mondadori, l’“Harmony Kiss”…
Colgo l’occasione per ringraziare di cuore la casa editrice per avermi omaggiato di questo romanzo… poche pagine sono bastate ad allentare lo stress di queste settimane frenetiche e, credetemi, è stato un gradito svago… insomma il libro si è dimostrato degno dello slogan che ha accompagnato l’inaugurazione dell’Harmony Kiss: “Romanzi freschi, dolci e maliziosi…”.
Il libro a cui mi riferisco è “In un letto di diamanti” di Nicola Marsh e, se si ovvia all’orrendo titolo che è stato scelto dalla casa editrice - perché non tradurre alla lettera il titolo originale, “Marrying the Enemy” con qualcosa del tipo Sposando il nemico o Sposarsi il nemico, non lo so. Ma c’è di peggio in giro, quindi consoliamoci… almeno il titolo scelto ha qualcosa a che fare con la trama –, è stata veramente una lettura piacevole, distensiva, rilassante e a tratti anche divertente.
Come parlarvi di un romanzo di poche pagine – neanche duecento – senza spolierarvi?
Domanda difficile…
Mmm… Vi basti sapere che “In un letto di diamanti”, è un romanzo che si legge in poche ore, e non fatevi ingannare dal fatto che sia breve.
Come si dice, “nella botte piccola ci sta il vino buono” o qualcosa di simile… ebbene, se pur nella sua brevità, “In un letto di diamanti” è un romanzo ricco di contenuti saputi condensare alla grande in poche pagine e dove nulla è stato lasciato in sospeso o irrisolto, con un finale ben congeniato e degno delle più belle storie d’amore, con il suo sudato “e vissero felici e contenti”.
È stata una lettura rilassante, non impegnativa, insomma quel che mi ci vuole in questo periodo frenetico della mia vita, una lettura che mi ha fatto sorridere e che mi ha messo di buon umore…
“In un letto di diamanti” è un romanzo che CONSIGLIO a chiunque voglia svagarsi un po’, a tutti coloro che hanno voglia di una lettura non impegnativa e a tutti coloro che hanno bisogno di rilassarsi e di passare delle ore tranquille.
Insomma, un romanzo da portare ovunque, anche a mare e da leggere sotto l’ombrellone…

Primo libro che leggo di questa collana, e come mi aspettavo si è rivelata una perfetta "lettura da spiaggia", breve,scorrevole e frizzante! "In un letto di diamanti" inizia con un matrimonio d'affari (il titolo originale infatti è Marrying the enemy!): Ruby deve salvare la sua azienda di gioielli e pietre preziose dal fallimento, dimostrando a tutti di non essere solo una designer frivola ed egoista, mentre Jax per espandere i suoi affari deve riuscire a reintrodursi nell'alta società che l'ha cacciato quando il padre e la madre si sono rivelati dei truffatori. Tra i due c'è una grande intesa, entrambi hanno un carattere schietto e deciso e devono dimostrare il loro valore liberandosi dall'ingombrante ombra della famiglia che li ha già etichettati come falliti. La fine è un po' (troppo) affrettata ma visto l'esiguo numero di pagine c'era da aspettarselo XD

Non è un capolavoro, certe volte l'autrice si intorta in inutili ripetizioni, ma, d'altra parte, da questo tipo di romanzi sottiletta mi aspetto altro: confesso di non prestare troppa attenzione a certe sottigliezze linguistiche/costruttive.
Questa si è rivelata una lettura piacevole, estiva, frizzante, romantica, che mi ha intrattenuta gradevolmente per una serata di relax ed è ciò che voglio in questo momento: obbiettivo raggiunto!

An emotionally closed-off bad boy businessman with a chip on his shoulder the size of Australia meets his match in a sassy jewelry-designer heroine. He needs her connections, she needs his money to save the family business. A somewhat silly misunderstanding near the finish, but loved that the hero had a soft underbelly and that the heroine gave as good as she got. A solid read.

I shelved this book to read until I had the follow-up to it and just spent the weekend with both books (what a way to go). Loved it - great sparkly/sparky read and both Jax and Ruby are a great combination and it scorches - tear-jearking too but the ending ah just fab (I want one of those!!). More...

Inizia bene, poi diventa banale. Le schermaglie tra i protagonisti mi piacciono ma, per come sono stati presentati a livello caratteriale, i loro sentimenti emergono troppo frettolosamente. Sul finire ci sono un po' di incongruenze e i dialoghi si fanno inutili. Finale insipido, ma del resto è anche molto corto.

I thought this was a decent book. I enjoyed the characters and the marriage they went through for their benefit was sweet too, watching them fall in love. However it was super simplistic and really easy to read into. I knew what was going to happen, before it happened. Three stars.

i liked the book but ruby was too much the common slut type. i realise i did not like dat kind of heroine. also i did not think there were more between them other than sex. it's as if they decided they love each other bcoz they were explosive in bed
