Great point of reference

Great resource for those wanting to get their feet wet in the knowledge pool of human resources. However it is NOT a substitution for coursework and other sources such as HRCI, SHRM etc......I encourage readers to glean from other sources Google if you have to but this is a great source to start. It had some great points that are still usefully today.

Didn't have what I was looking for actually - I was looking more for how office managerial and organizational duties, things like that. Wrong book for me but I think this would be great for someone who is in the position of running a business with their own employees.

I did skim through this one however it did give me the gist of what human resources is about.

The only issue with it for me was that most of the American laws and policies don't apply to Australian businesses but there are similarities.

A pretty good, easy read, packed with important HR information in layman's terms, not legalese. Great for small business owners.
