Duffy is from the wrong side of the tracks, Trent is old money. Duffy is a defense attorney, Trent is a prosecutor. The two couldn’t be more opposed. But sometimes opposites attract, especially when one’s a Dom and the other’s a sub.
Duffy’s impassioned representation of a client he believes to be innocent carries over into the bedroom when he demonstrates for Trent how fun—and consensual—rough sex can be. Soon these opposing attorneys are finding their way to a mutually satisfying verdict.
Bonus : Trent and Duffy’s story is framed by the story of Gideon and Cole, a younger Dom and sub who have made some mistakes but who will find their way to a happy power exchange relationship by following the advice of their attorneys.
Duffy is a defense attorney and Trent is a prosecutor, the first is there to defend Cole and the latter is on behalf of Gideon. Cole and Gideon are secretly boyfriends, secretly because Gideon isn’t out. They love rough play, there’s some kind of a Dom/sub dynamic. They are young and are experimenting. One night it went quite rough, and now Gideon’s parents accuse Cole of rape.
Duffy is a Dom and recognizes a sub from far, Trent is a sub. Duffy wants to convince Trent how these things can go in the bedroom, consensual, fun, rough, and finding your limits. This is how Cole and Gideon probably did this. So he shows him. Oh boy!
Trent was always smitten with Duffy, but now he wants to kneel for him. Duffy is a top-notch Dom, the way he approached Trent, and how he take care of him was awesome. I loved them both. They are such a great couple. The author did a great job writing this story in just 82 pages. It was hugely intriguing. I won’t spoil the outcome, read it yourself. Overall an entertainingly written story, with an original plot. I really enjoyed this one.
The latest story by this author held my attention from beginning to end. It’s sort of a enemies to story but I feel it’s more a competitor to. Trent and Duffy respect each other as opposing attorneys but they also have this competitive thing concerning the other. While both like winning I felt it was an attraction as much as a competition but then their careers does have the goal of winning. Duffy ends up representing Cole a kid who is accused of abuse of his supposedly boyfriend. While Trent is the prosecutor. Trent has a winning case even though he wonders if Gideon is telling the truth about what happened. Duffy makes it his mission to convince Trent to relook at everything, in the meantime things change between Trent and Duffy. While this is a serious issue and the possibility of this really happening the story also brings out how different relationships can work. Even though this is a short story I feel the author did a great job of defining the characters and the situations so that it was easy for me to picture. I’m now anxious to see what is next from this author.
I loved Opposed by T. M. Chris. I loved Cole and Gideon. I loved that Cole didn't hold anything that happened against Gideon. Cole is a natural Dome, and his boyfriend is into some dangerous BDSM practices. I loved the advice that Cole got from his attorney about taking classes with Gideon to learn how to be safe in giving Gideon what he needs. I liked the two attorneys, Trent and Duffy. I got a little tired of them wondering if one or the other had any experience in BDSM. It happened every time they were together. I have no idea why it was never brought up in a conversation between them. Overall, I enjoyed this book and would recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I did not enjoy this book at all. Basically, this book has 4 characters, two are 18-year-olds who are beginning a relationship, in which they have sex and then one of them basically goes on trial for rape again the other one. That alone took me out of the story. I know it alludes to this in the blurb but I was not really understanding what was going to happen. It was not a good story plot, the two young characters are truly just dumb but I could not really focus on the actual main characters because I was lowkey stressed about Cole and Gideon. Personally would not recommend and tbh the main characters are subpar as well.

I enjoyed the story and the resolution. I don't like to give away the plot but I will say that it was good to see a modeling of what a good consensual BDSM relationship can/should be. This was not to say that it was clinical and all about the rules. There were plenty of steamy scenes and never came off as preachy. It was also interesting to think about what can go wrong if you don't know how to be safe and sane with your kink! It's a good book for sure and I will read it again I am sure! I did receive an advanced copy of this book and choose to leave this honest review!
My first thought was that Perry Mason was never this sexy! I was sad that Cole and Gideon were having sex for the first time and it went very wrong when Gideon was too afraid to tell his parents that he was gay and Cole was charged with rape. Duffy and Trent were both very sexy and it was great that Duffy wanted the best for Cole and it was amusing how he got uptight Trent to unbend and admit to his submissive nature. Glad that Cole forgave Gideon and very glad that Duffy gave good info to both of them about BDSM and d/s relationships.
Wow! This was such an intriguing story of being afraid of coming out and having your secret boyfriend accused of rape. Cole loves Gideon and when his parents think he was responsible for raping him Cole says nothing and stands trial not wanting to out Gideon. Thanks goodness he has a defense attorney that works so well with the prosecutor and between them they ensure justice is served. What justice? You really need to read this book and find out. Loved it!
**I received an ARC with the understanding I would post an unbiased review.**
I really enjoyed this, it feels like a complete story for Duffy and Trent as well as for Gideon and Cole.
But it does deal with some heavy issues, and I think that it could have been given more time for those issues to be more fully and realistically resolved. I can see people being uncomfortable with the way Gideon's and Cole's situation frames Duffy's and Trent's relationship. I would like to see Gideon and Trent revisited some day. I have the feeling the resolution of the court case might also make some people involved with the courts heads explode, lol.
I really liked how being a Dom or a sub was handled, it's nice to see it presented as an inherent part of a person's personality rather than a role that is sometimes played at. Which isn't to say that it can't also be that for some.
A little uneven in the execution, but a very enjoyable story that I can see myself re-reading. A wonderful heartfelt ending for both couples.
A good romance for two couples in this. An important prelude as Cole and Gideon preform in a dominate play. Later, Trent is going for charges against councillor, Duffy’s client for rape. Gideon was in the middle of with being the said victim now in court. A hot dominate romance which pushes the power play into the courtroom. Their attorneys test the boundaries for themselves.
I worried that this book would be too short for the content and feel rushed as a result, but it was the perfect length to tell both its story and the framing narrative. It even included some wrinkles to the plot arcs that I didn't expect and appreciated all the more for how they added depth to the romance arc.
The relationship between Duffy and Trent was hot. They had both secretly been admiring each other for awhile, and it was nice to see them finally come together. However, the story revolved around a rape trial, which was rather disconcerting. I worried so much for each of the young men they were defending. There was a nice resolution.
Duffy and Trent, discovering things about each other, while working against each other,in a court of law! This story had me hooked right from the beginning and I loved it! I found myself rooting for all four main characters in this delightful novella, and my only complaint,is that I wanted it to be a longer story. I would like to say so much more about this but, I won't, as I don't want to spoil this for anyone! I received an arc copy of this story from the author herself and this is my honest review.
This book touched on a topic that had me worried I wouldn't enjoy it but it was just so well done. Very emotional and really steamy. Really worth the read if you like things hot.
Not too heavy, with a serious theme, and a newly developing relationship. I’m sure there are all sorts of legal rules/guidelines/ethic violations here, but it serves the story well, and makes for a good HEA.
This is a wonderful story with lots of steam, great characters, an excellent ending, and lots of BDSM fun! I particularly liked Duffy. Love this author's BDSM books.
Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. Fear is what catapults the arrest and imprisonment of a teen, it's Duffy's job to prove that Gideon lied by omitted the truths. Prosecuting this case was weighting heavy, something was off but mind is esle where because Trent shouldn't be fantasizing in the court room of the man across the table but that was a losing battle. What starts off as just proving to Trent that waa other alternative truths, leads to what is a very hot steaming sections. Once the case is closed, will their time together come to the same conclusion.
