Truly didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I did but I get it now!

Very in depth, and will require a second go around at some point. Parts of it are story and character development, all of the characters are fascinating. Other parts are more of an essay on the Napoleonic wars, and history in general. Tolstoy analyses what causes the massive movements in history, and challenges the views and methods of "modern historians".
