I'm Barbara, I read. I write. I come from the northeast, born in Havre de Grace, MD, and grew up in Pennsylvania. In my teens we moved to the Space Coast area of Florida. Now I live in Middleburg, Florida (Jacksonville area) with my husband, Gene.

I've worked in the electronics industry, and most recently in healthcare. I give back by volunteering whenever I can, and in 2009, I received The American Cancer Society's HOPE Award for volunteerism.

The stories I write come from my heart. I'm never sure where they are going until I get there. Most often, a song begins to paint a picture that becomes a love story. Sprinkled through my stories are humor and sadness based on real life experiences shared with family and friends. I write with emotion, pulling from memories and events that made me who I am. My readers tell me they feel like they know the characters I share with them. I like to call my writing 'the sound-track of my life.'

A reviewer on Amazon recently said, "This isn't a romance, it's a love story." (readingmaven)

As a writer, I hope you continue this journey, travel with me, see what song inspires me next, and I hope that you see more growth with each page you turn.

I love to read; it's a gift that was shared with me by my mom - Alis. She introduced me to her favorites like Little Women, Christy, and the Nancy Drew books. Books are an escape, a journey into new and different places and I've been many places I never dreamed of. My favorite genre is romance. I to explore and support other authors who paint a picture through words that allow me to feel the story. Some of my favorites are Adriana Trigiani, Maggi Myers, and Nora Roberts.

Sweet Surrender is the heartwarming story of Logan Stiles and Delaney Morris – the perfect couple in almost every way, except that Delaney is afraid of commitment. The acrimonious relationship between Delaney’s long-divorced parents has made her especially wary of marriage. However, thanks to Logan’s devotion and patience, not to mention the example set by his amazing family, Delaney is able to build confidence in the potential for love to endure, and for committment to be worthwhile. It is this love and support from Logan and his family that also enables Delaney to face a shattering revelation about her past.

Sweet Surrender is a ‘feel-good’ romantic story that makes you want to snuggle up in front of a cozy fire with a hot cup of tea. I especially enjoyed the way that Barbara Stewart introduced us to the culture, customs, food and settings of the southern USA.

This was Ms. Stewart’s first book, written in just one month as part of last year’s National Novel Writing Month. As such, we actually see Ms. Stewart’s writing skills evolve as we progress through the book. There was a bit more narration (at the expense of dialogue) than I personally enjoy, but this too improved as the book progressed.

Overall, it was an endearing and engaging story that kept my interest throughout, and I am looking forward to reading Ms. Stewart's next book.

Sweet surrender by Barbara Stewart.
**Fate is a funny thing**
I got this book by Barbara in exchange of an honest review. Thanks Barbara for choosing me, I feel honored! <3
Sweet surrender is a very well written love story about Logan and Delaney.
**Life is so good, and I am blessed** Laney's mantra...I love it there is so much truth behind this words.....
Laney found out by accident that she was adopted and how difficult it is to find your birth-parents.
While reading this book you will learned a lot about the southern part of the USA (what I loved!).

When you read this book before (like I did) give it a new try, you won't be disappointed!

I read the book and liked it. After reading the others by the author, I can tell how far she has come in her writing.

I had the hardest time getting through this book. There is too much rainbows, sunshine and perfection and not enough angst or really not enough of anything. No one's lives can be as perfect as Delaney and Logan. The world created in this book doesn't feel like it's the real world and feels too much like the Truman show. My rating is based on personal preference. This just did not work for me.

Couldn't finish. No particular reason why besides it took forever to get in to and I read books so quick because I need that instant gratification. If I can't get into it... I drop it.

it was ridiculous in parts and sometimes read as if written by a pre-adolescent.
