I wasn't prepared for the way this books was produced, i was expecting another bok in typical format, wrong.
This book comes in a format which reminds me of the mighty filofax which did the rounds in the late 80s and early 90s.
The book is very well laid out, in fact it really is like an instruction manual in many ways, though the instructions relate to happiness, not some pine wardrobe from argos! The book is the most interactive book i have come across since, well, i dnt know, ever maybe?
As soon as you open the book, your right into it, instantly, there is no messing about, the interaction begins just inside the cover, with a fold out Life Map, which the reader uses to write down things they would like to happen in their life, or change etc.
There other big pop out interactive feature is the Mind Map, now, i tried to do one of these when reading Susan Jeffers book, Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway, recently, but i couldnt do it, i managed it this time easily, in fact i found the entire book so easy to read that i read it within 2 days, which is getting fairly typical for me now.
To further enhance the interaction, there are audio visualization tools available to listen to on a website, the address is given in the book, which makes a wonderful accompaniment to this book.
If you are looking for a helping hand in life, you could do worse than buy this book, its a fab addition to my bookshelf, though i will admit, i found the file format of the book annoying simply because i like to read in bed, and its a bit bulky, but thats not enough to put a downer on this fine work.
I have read many books of this genre recently, and this is definitely one of the best, its content is nicely laid out in good decent bite sized chunks, and does not repeat itself too much, which some books in this genre tend to do.
I loved all the visuals and interactive activities in this book. The author gave straight forward guidelines to living a better life and give you the tools to make change happen. Even the layout of the book is visually appealing and it was exciting just to open it. This by far is the most helpful self help book I've read.
Repeats itself a lot and I'm not convinced that everything inside isn't all hooey. "You will get everything you wish for because science!" But I figure, hey, it can't hurt to try. If it doesn't work, I'm no worse off than when I started, and if it does work, score!
