Virtual reality, psychologists and foreign powers. This subject did not interest me and I did not finish reading this book--too confusing.

I went into this book not sure what to expect, and I wasn't completely disappointed. The premise is very interesting in a "this could actually happen one day" sort of way. There was an abundance of profanity and violence, but what do you expect when you're dealing with the mob, right? And that's not a bad thing either, I rather prefer thrillers/violence to romance any day.

Like other reviewers, I also found the music references to be distracting. While I can completely understand using a soundtrack to set the backdrop of the VR scenes and even the "goodbye" scene with Bryce; telling the reader what's on the stereo at every turn was almost too much. At times, I felt less like I was reading a novel and more like I was reading a paper written for an English class.

The grammar mistakes were also very abundant. (The plurals of CD and DVD are NOT CD's or DVD's. Also, it's a "drawer" not a "draw". I even found an instance where doors needed an apostrophe, but one was missing; completely changing the sentence, and distracting me from the story for a bit after that.)

Seeing the other excellent reviews of this book leads me to believe that these mistakes may have been a result of shoddy transcription from print to eBook? At any rate, since misplaced apostrophes are a peeve of mine, it took away from the overall reading experience.

Based on story alone, I would have given this a 4. Based on the writing, runaway apostrophes, and spelling mistakes, this would be a 1. Overall, as a whole, I'll rate it a 2.

My husband says after the first few dozen mistakes he would have stopped reading and moved on to something else. If you can get past these errors, it's worth a look.

Since it's an eBook, maybe a revision to correct the mistakes in our future?

LA psychologist Joel Fischer is a bad man. He's also brilliant, and a sociopath. When Joel develops the DreemWeever, he creates a device that takes manipulation to a whole new level. When the device is stolen before he can deliver it to the Russian mobsters who commissioned it, things get very ugly, very fast. As Joel's people race against the clock to retrieve the device, certain truths begin to emerge, fiction blurs into reality, and loyalties are tested. If you like fast-paced thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat, Mindjacker is for you. It's a wild ride, packed with musical references, taut as a drum, a great read that'll keep you turning the pages right to the end. Highly recommended.

This is a book with a soundtrack. There was so much music going through my brain while I read, that using an mp3 player would have only gotten in the way. I was too busy to read it in one sitting, but I would have if I could have. The main characters were charming, twisted and lots of fun. The psychologist and the Russian mob supplied the tension. All in all a very enjoyable read.

A stolen car, a missing prototype meant to supply a never before experience. Virtual reality so real, you can never go home again. Reboot, reprogram and voila new person. Or perhaps just a virtual vacation.

Excellent....Entertaining, fast paced story that will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Non-stop action, fast cars, a great sound track (that will have you digging through your old classic vinyl), and subtle humor that sneaks up on you when you don't expect it. A totally enjoyable ride that will be impossible to put down!
