With his job and relationship on the line, Felix has his work cut out of him. Enter Max, his brother's pushy best friend and Felix can't figure out if he's a hindrance or his savior.
Felix is a wedding planner, whose job is on the line, and must asks help from the last person he wants to ask help from. His brother's best friend, Max Dawson, made Felix's life miserable when they were growing up. Unknown to Felix, Max has been crushing on him for years.
I saw other reviews only gave this around 3-stars. I could understand why. Yes, the characters don't always make sense. Yes, some of the things were over the top. Yes, Martin (Felix's boss) was too much of black-and-white villain. However, after a string of so-so books (even DNF one of them), and all of them published (which means they're properly edited), this FREE story comes as a consolation.
I have no issue what-so-ever with the mispelling or the grammatical error. I'm not an English native, so I'm not very nitpicky about that. Plus the story is charming, and that trumps over the lack of editing. I love the fact that Felix is clueless with Max's feeling. I love the scene at the zoo, and how Felix asks Max whether he can adopt a giraffe *cute*. I love how the bride is not portrayed as a crazy bride, instead she becomes Felix's best friend. I love Felix's older brother.
When I smile happily at the epilogue (), it was a sign of it being a wonderful story *sigh*.
Towards the end I was hoping to find out some more complex reasons behind the actions of some of the charecters, but they weren't very complex (or well explained). Martin was a bit too much of a villain, too - it was too simple to hate him.
I’ve read so many great unpublished books lately that I kind of got used to great quality when it came to these stories. So it makes reviewing this a bit difficult. But still, I’ll take into account that this was written by an amateur writer and try not be too harsh. That being said, I think this is an ok read. I got to finish it, which is not what I can say about all published books I read. You can tell the author is new at this, there are a lot of things missing from the story, the characters don’t always make sense, they don’t really develop thought the story. There are times when everything is so predictable and times when you get hit with things that you really don’t see coming, and not in a good way. I can say that I did find some things kind of funny, but then the author took them a step too far, thus making the whole package not work for me. I guess it was just …childish. Not the worst thing I read, but it wouldn't be something I really recommend if you want something well written.
Fantastic! A mm mills & boon! To every detail - the millionaire who's secretly in love with the mc but been hiding it by being a dick, the silly angst, the needing help and bad current boyfriend etc etc.
I don't think it's particularly that good, but I just really liked it.
