Siri Kolu (18.07.1972) on kirjailija, esitysdramaturgi, ohjaaja ja teatteriopettaja. Hän on koulutukseltaan teatteritaiteen maisteri ja teatteri-ilmaisun ohjaaja. Ennen teatterikoulutustaan hän opiskeli kirjallisuutta ja teatteritiedettä Helsingin Yliopistossa.

Kolu asuu perheineen Vantaalla pääradan varressa. Hän on vapaa kirjailija ja kouluttaja. Vuonna 2013 Siri Kolu valittiin Valtion kirjallisuustoimikunnan puheenjohtajaksi. Hän toimii myös Lukuinto-lähettiläänä.

Kolu rakastaa vintage-vaatteita, katastrofielokuvia, alkukantaisia vinttikoiria, kirpputoreja, viivattomia muistikirjoja, kokeellista esitystaidetta, vieraisiin kaupunkeihin eksymistä ja arjen keksintöjä. Siri Kolun esikoisromaani Metsänpimeä ilmestyi vuonna 2008. Hauskalla ja omaperäisellä Me Rosvolat -seikkailullaan Kolu voitti Otavan ja Kinoproduction Oy:n lastenromaani- ja elokuvakirjoituskilpailun syksyllä 2009. Kirja ilmestyi huhtikuussa 2010. Kirjaan perustuvat elokuva-, näyttämö- ja kuunnelmaversiot ovat tuotannossa.

Me Rosvolat -kirjan voittokulku jatkui, kun se palkittiin Finlandia Juniorilla 2010. Vuonna 2012 Siri Kolu palkittiin Kaarina Helakisa -palkinnolla ja vuonna 2013 Laivakello-palkinnolla. Vuonna 2012 Me Rosvolat voitti Hollannin tärkeimmän tunnustuksen ulkomaiselle lastenkirjalle, Die Zilveren Griffel -palkinnon. Vuonna 2013 Flemish Children’s and Juvenile Books Jury palkitsi Me Rosvolat Belgiassa. Me Rosvolat -kirjan oikeudet on myyty kuuteentoista maahan.

“Robbing’s our thing. That’s what we know how to do.”

Maisie is kidnapped on the way to visiting her Grandma. This might sound like the beginning of a traumatic experience for Maisie but it turns out to be just the adventure she’s been looking for during the summer holidays.

But this is no ordinary kidnapping; Maisie is stolen from the family’s car in front of her parents and older sister. And these are no ordinary kidnappers; the Robbersons are a family of bandits.

Wild Karl is the chief bandit and his wife, Hilda, is a reckless but enthusiastic driver and champion cook. They have two children: nine year old Charlie and twelve year old Hellie. Charlie wants to attend school, whereas Hellie embraces the bandit lifestyle completely. Hellie (my favourite character) is good at everything, although repurposing Barbie dolls is one of her specialties. Golden Pete, a friend of the Robbersons, is loyal to Wild Karl.

As a hijacked person, Maisie quickly learns all about the various ways to get the best loot. She also becomes part of the family, using initiative to come up with new ways of doing things. She knows that she’ll need to return home at some point but she’s not ready yet.

I was their prisoner, the loot from a robbery, and so I tried to look glum. Whenever I remembered.

Sweets are mentioned so much in this book that it’s possible you’ll get a sugar high just from reading. Kids will love the freedoms enjoyed by this family, who eat what they want when they want, can decide to go swimming on the spur of the moment and don’t have to do anything routine or normal, like work or attend school.

I found Maisie’s response to her kidnapping quite implausible. I can’t imagine a ten year old who wouldn’t be traumatised by being taken from their family by a bunch of strangers. The fact that Maisie didn’t even seem to miss her family and treated her kidnapping like a fun adventure added to this unreality. I had to keep reminding myself that I wasn’t supposed to be taking any of this seriously. As a kid I would have simply been along for the ride, no questions asked.

This book, the first in a series, has been translated from Finnish. I want to know how Golden Pete became involved with the Robbersons. I’m assuming this will be mentioned later in the series. I’d like to spend more time with the other bandit clans. I’m interested in reading the next book to see what’s next for Maisie and the Robbersons.

Kaipasin jotakin kevyttä ja hauskaa luettavaa juhannukseksi ja maailmalta tulvivien uutisten vastapainoksi. Omasta hyllystä löytyikin Me Rosvolat -sarjan ensimmäinen osa uusintalukuun. Koko sarjan olen lukenut muistaakseni kaksi kertaa kokonaan (lukuunottamatta aivan uusimpia osia, jotka olen lukenut vain kertaalleen), mutta kyllä tämä edelleen naurattaa.

Kirja on täynnä letkautuksia ja näppärää sanailua, puhumattakaan rosvojen omista lyhenteistä (KoPo TT eli kokoporvari, Toivoton Tapaus nauratti uuden hallituksen ensimmäisiä päiviä seuratessa)
Olin myös unohtanut, kuinka paljon kirjousta löytyy reseptejä ja erilaisia ruokaan liittyviä pelejä, suklaakutosta olen halunnut kokeilla siitä lähtien kun Rosvoloita ensimmäistä kertaa luin!

Juhannuspuhteena jatkoin sitten kirjan toiseen osaan heti tämän loppuun saatuani, onneksi koko sarja löytyy Bookbeatista!

Mukaansa tempaava kirja, kirjoittaminen oli sujuvaa erilaisine tapahtumineen. Vilja Vainisto ryövätään Rosvolan perheen mukaan. Vilja sopeutuu joukkoon nopeasti. Mielenkiintoinen lähtökohta ja ainaiset prinsessat uupuvat, joten senkin takia saa ison plussan. En tietysti ihan ole kirjan kohderyhmää, mutta tykkäsin. Voisin ajatella lukevani tämän esimerkiksi töissä lapsille. Täytyykin muistaa lukea jatko-osat.

What a brilliant book.
Maisie is kidnapped by the Robberson family when they hijack her dads car.
Maisie finds she likes being with them more than her own family.
He learns how to hijack cars, throw a knife.
She prefers them to her own family.
This is a great book, full of laugh out loud moments and plenty of moments i sat there with a smile on my face.

Esta lectura infantil, divertida, ágil y tierna, se lee con el sabor que solo las cosas extravagantes e inocentes aportan. Es un libro con una edición maravillosa, que nos permite acompañar a Vilja en ese viaje no esperado gracias al que descubre cómo disfrutar de la vida, de los pequeños detalles, de romper con la rutina, de escuchar a los demás y de valorar lo que se tienen.

Es verdad que no es una historia al uso, y justo eso la hace más interesante. Imaginad un asalto a un coche en el que viaja una familia que tiene como consecuencia, además del robo de enseres y comida, el robo de una de las hijas; imaginad que esa niña de diez años empieza a conocer a la estrambótica familia que la tiene prisionera y empieza a disfrutar del vómito de alienígena o a descubrir qué son los pedos de ratón; imaginad una vida nómada para cumplir un sueño o huir de una realidad; todo eso y muchísimo más está en esta pequeña gran novela que creo es muy adecuada para lectores de 10 años.

Capítulos cortos con títulos esclarecedores, un bonito viaje, deseos, sueños e ilusiones, y todo de la mano de una gran observadora que todo lo piensa, todo lo apunta y de todo aprende.

Me ha gustado mucho y me gustaría que mis hijos pudieran apreciar esta historia también. Tengo el segundo libro en casa y no tardaré en leerlo.

Olipas se hulvaton. Ehkä lastenromaani, mutta pituutta ja asennetta riittää aikuisihmisenkin luettavaksi. Me Rosvolat ei aliarvioi lukijaa, ja käänteet koukuttivat yllättävän tehokkaasti. Suosittelen (aikuisten lisäksi) hyvin lukeville lapsille -- tekstiä on aika paljon -- tai koko perheen kesken ääneen luettavaksi.

Jes! Olipa positiivinen yllätys tämä Me Rosvolat. Menoa ja meininkiä piisasi. Oli varmaan finlandia-juniorinsa (2010) ansainnut. Kuuntelin äänikirjana, ja Hannu-Pekka Björkman lukijana kenties lisäsi tekstin laatua huomattavasti. Tuli samoja fiiliksiä, kuin lapsuuden leirikoulujen öissä, kun leiriohjaaja laittoi c-kasetilta pyörimään äänikirjoja, ja niitä kuunneltiin aina puolille öin asti. En muista mitä kuunneltiin, mutta jotain tosi jänniä tarinoita.

Kiellettyjen asioiden tekeminen - mikäs sen kiehtovampaa, uskoisin, että myös monen lapsilukijan mielestä. Päähenkilö Vilja on 10-vuotias, ja hänet varastettiin Me Rosvoloiden päällikön "Hurja-Kaarlon" ideasta hänen lastensa Helen ja Kallen kesäkaveriksi. Kun sellainen nyt vaan tarvittiin. Piti sitten varastaa lapsi! Toki Viljan isä ja äiti huolestuivat varmasti, mutta he jäivät tässä kohtaa täysin taka-alalle kerronnassa pitkäksi aikaa, ja seurattiin vain sitä, miten Vilja alkoi vähitellen kotiutua rosvojoukkoon iloiseen. Oliko kyseessä jonkinlainen Tukholman syndrooma?

Rosvolat olivat siis maantierosvoja, wtf! He kaahasivat autolla ylinopeutta, kiikaroivat edessä olevan auton mahdollista ryöstöpotentiaalia, ja sitten kaahasivat sen viereen, ja saattoivat varastaa liikkuvasta autosta asioita, kuten ömm: sipsipussi, suklaapatukoita, barbeja, National Geographic lehtiä, kalaa (hyi mitä terveysruokaa!), karkkipusseja, lihapiirakoita ja nakkeja, yms. Eli kaikkea muuta paitsi rahaa, joka Rosvoloiden mielestä oli "hiirenpieruja". Tässä kohtaa olin jo rakastunut kirjan juoneen. Tässä sekoittui niin kivasti tihutyöt ja hullunkurisuus, että lopulta Rosvolat olivat pikemminkin surkuhupaisan vaarattomia voroja kuin jotain pelottavia rikollisia. Toki he usein pakenivat poliisia aivan tosissaan.

Viljan vanhemmat tietenkin ilmoittivat poliisille lapsensa kidnappauksesta, ja lehteen tuli jotain juttuja. Vilja soitti isälleen muka avunpyyntöpuhelun (vähentääkseen hänen huolta?), jossa näytteli olevansa pulassa, vaikka oikeasti tykkäsi jo enemmän olla Rosvoloiden jengissä kuin oman perheensä luona. Siellä hänestä vain kasvatettiin hienostotyttöä, jonka piti osata soittaa klassista musiikkia. Rosvoloiden meiningistä hän tykkäsi. He ajelivat ympäri Suomea ja telttailivat milloin missäkin. Lopulta oli joku "verkostomarkkinoijien" kokoontuminen, jossa kilpailtiin erilaisissa hullunkurisissa lajeissa. Tässä kohtaa olin hieman pudonnut juonen kärryiltä, mutta kuuntelin silti eteenpäin.

Rosvoloiden sisäinen kulttuuri oli myös täynnä huumoria; aikamoisia persoonallisuuksia siis. Äkkipikaisia ja ronskeja, mutta kuitenkin pohjimmiltaan aika lempeitä. Aikamoista macho-meininkiä paikoittain. Nukkumapaikkojen jaosta päätettiin iltaisin aina jatsipelillä, ja Hurja-Kaarlon piti antaa voittaa, ettei riitaa kehittyisi. Vilja sitten kuitenkin voitti hänet, aijai. Ruoaksi ei kelvannut oikein salaatit, vaan piti olla rosvopaistia, lihapullia, ja niitä sinappiviivoja niiden päälle. Karkkia piti aina olla huimat määrät.

Kirjassa kertojana oli Viljan ääni. Hän havainnoi tapahtumia, henkilöitä ja puhuu muistelevaan sävyyn.

Kirjan lopussa Vilja sitten vapaaehtoisesti palasi kuitenkin takaisin oman perheensä luo, syksyn, ja koulun alkamisen, kynnyksellä. Rosvoloillakin, jotka eivät helposti lähteneet hempeilemään tai tunteitaan osoittamaan, tuli tippoja linsseihin eroamisen hetkellä. Vilja kuitenkin pyysi, että Rosvolat tulisivat varastamaan hänet uudestaan mukaansa seuraavana kesänä, kesäkuun 1. päivänä. Jatko-osalle pedattiin näin tilaa.

Varsin mainio lasten lukuromaani, joka ei aliarvioi lukijaansa. Juoni on sopivan lennokas ja Rosvoloiden perhe vallan sympaattinen. - Tykkäsin myös kirjan välittämästä maailmankuvasta, jossa raha tuo vain lähinnä ongelmia ja perheen tulee pitää yhtä, vaikka kaikkien unelmien ja toiveiden yhteensovittaminen vaatisikin vähän suunnittelua ja sumplimista.

Me and the Robbersons is an award-winning Finnish middle-grade read that was published in 2010. Translated into many languages, it is finally available in English thanks to The Little Tiger Group, Stripes Publishing and translator Ruth Urbom.

Summer is going nowhere and has been the usual disappointment of broken promises for Maisie. A trip to grandma’s was about exciting as things were going to get and was complete with family arguments and Maisie getting blamed, as always.

But before they have arrived at grandma’s, bandits have robbed the car of clothes, beauty products, sweets and most surprising of all, Maisie. Finding herself aboard a van driven by a lady with a liking for speed and a family led by Wild Karl, Maisie is about to have the adventure of a lifetime. An adventure that she has been seeking her entire life and she is determined to enjoy it. So much in fact that when the police, rival bandits and her parents are closing in, Maisie is not quite ready for everything to come to an end just yet…

Given the harsh lockdowns and stay at home orders that we have all had to endure over the last year and a half, the Robbersons bring a wonderful dose of freedom and adventure that children have so desperately been craving.

The Robbersons deliver a thrilling and fast-paced madcap adventure full of hijinks and hilarity. Far from being your typical bandits, the Robbersons bring anarchy and their own unique brand of crime to the country roads of Finland and readers will love being part of their world. They’re not interested in money or valuables, above all else they value sweets, especially the ever-so-rare alien puke, and will pretty much go to any lengths to satisfy their sweet-teeth. Speeding around the country roads, stopping off for a swim whenever they feel like it, regularly indulging in a rather unhealthy diet of crispbreads, pasties, meatballs and sweets, and evening games of Yahtzee to decide sleeping arrangements are all part of daily life. It is a very unconventional life of freedom and frivolity centred around family and whose days are determined by their needs, be it food, another Barbie doll or a new cardigan (captain’s coat) for Wild Karl.

You’d think that being abducted by bandits and thrown into the back of a van would be enough to frighten and concern most kids. But Maisie isn’t most kids and she quickly finds the Robbersons are the perfect counterfoil to her rather boring and all too ordinary life at home and are able to offer her the adventure and excitement that she has longed for. Like Maisie, readers will find themselves warming to the memorable bandits and despite their law-breaking ways it is hard not to root for them. Young Charlie wants to forgo a life of crime on the road for a more regular childhood experience of school. Something that his older sister, Hellie, is completely baffled by. She rather enjoys the bandit lifestyle and has become an expert in knife skills and in giving make-overs to stolen Barbie dolls. She has her sights firmly set on on leading her own gang of bandits. Their parents, Wild Karl and Hilda are awesome. Hilda is the speed-freak who longs to spend a night in a proper bed and Wild Karl is the chief bandit who everyone just goes along with to keep him happy, no-one likes a grumpy Karl. Together, they make quite the dysfunctional team.

Me and the Robbersons is pure enjoyment and escapism and is a read that allows children to live adventurously at a time when the global pandemic has severely limited our own adventures on the roads with sweet-stealing loveable bandits.

This books is such fun and very random. A family of bandits hijack a car and steal a girl to stop their own kids from bickering, scared at first Maisie soon feels the rush of fun the family have stealing, robbing and hijacking people and finds she is much happier with them than she would be at home with her own family, giving her the best summer holiday ever.

Okay I knew this would just be a fun read and it really was, though it was so odd and so random but so funny and really easy to read. It’s such an adventure and somehow the way it is written makes what these bandits do sound fun and exciting. Which is what’s great about the story, you feel exactly what Maisie feels.

The book holds such a strange array of characters, the leader Wild Karl the boss and the discussion maker, the crafter of all crimes. Charlie who wants to be a grown up bandit but also wants to go to school and have a normal life. Hellie the fast, knife throwing don’t cross me girl who likes taking Barbie dolls and giving them makeovers in her own strange ways. Hilda the mother and reckless getaway driver who is way tougher than you’d imagine. Golden Pete the most odd ball character in the story, I’ll let you find out about him. Maisie who changes her thoughts on everything she ever knew and learns everything there is to know about being a bandit. These characters just some how all managed to work and added something uniquely themselves into this story.

I think this book would be so great for children who are just looking for something so odd and funny and just an escape book that will take you on the most random but fun adventure ever. It will make them laugh, they’ll want to finish it once they start and they’ll really get stuck into Maisie’s adventure.

I didn’t love this story but I did enjoy it, it was an interesting and different read and I liked the adventure the story took me on, the unique characters that we met along the way. It’s was a good read.

This is a humorous, slightly crazy story about a young girl being kidnapped by the Robbersons and joining them on their subsequent adventures.
The Robbersons are not your usual type of robbers. They only steal what they need (mostly sweets), they enjoy driving fast in their battered van and stopping off for lots of swims! Maisie is taken because the Robbersons children need a new friend.
Maisie was desperate to return to her family at first but she soon started to have fun with the Robbersons and join in with their hijacking, stealing and criminal ways. She starts to have the best summer holiday of her life! Will Maisie's family catch up with the Robbersons and rescue Maisie? Will Maisie help the Robbersons improve their hijacking skills?

This is very different from our usual chapter books but it was action packed with fun and adventure and written in a very humorous way. You do have to slightly suspend belief as Maisie doesn't seem to be at all bothered about being kidnapped or reuniting with her family. The Robbersons are actually a great fun loving family despite their criminal antics though!
This story was written in Finnish originally but has recently been translated into English.

Este libro pertenece al club de lectura "vámonos a dormir" que formamos mis hijos y yo. Y no ha cuajado. Todos, niños y mayores, tendemos a aceptar las cosas increibles siempre y cuando resulten creibles en el contexto de una historia. Pero no se si es por la traducción (el Finlandés se me escapa) o simplemente porque es lo que hay, pero el libro cae reiteradamente en el absurdo.

Como yo soy una persona adulta y los adultos vemos el mundo de una forma extraña que El Principito no entiende, la puntuación de los libros del club "vámonos a dormir", la otorgo según el impacto que causa en los peques. Y estos han dictado sentencia: "¿podemos cambiar de libro?". Es la primera vez que ocurre.

Se trata de que ellos se aficionen a la lectura y eduquen su imaginación, así que, como no podía ser de otra forma, ha pasado a la lista de libros inacabados. Pero ojo, que a nosotros no nos haya entusiasmado, no quiere decir que a otras personas no les pueda llenar. Quizás parte de la culpa ha sido mía, y de mi capacidad de entonación lectora.

Vamos a por otro, pasamos de bandidos a piratas.

Me and the Robbersons is a recently translated Finnish adventure story perfect for kids of all ages this summer!
Our main character Maisie is smart and witty and is forced to think on her feet after she gets stolen by a rogue bandit family during the summer holidays.
There are so many funny antics and humorous goings-on that this book is definitely a perfect one for even those who are newer to reading or find it more daunting. When you also take into consideration the short length and easily digestible writing style it's even clearer that this is a great recommendation.
I did enjoy our ragtag group, however, I do think we could have done with a little bit more in terms of character descriptions to help us visualize them. That being said there were also some lovely messages of family, working together, and being appreciative for what you have in life, which I also enjoyed.
A simple but lovable story and I hope the rest of the series also gets translated relatively soon.

Hold on to your sweets and chocolates there are robbers about on Finland's highways and back roads! Maisie thinks that she is set for a boring summer holiday at her grandma's house when the Robbersons' lightening raid on her family's car throws her whole summer into chaos! Maisie suddenly finds herself stolen, along with the lollies her big sister was hogging and the other items the Robbersons felt could be better used by them.
Maisie soon discovers that life as an outlaw is actually quite fun and it is not long before she is taking part in these capers herself. As summer progresses Maisie finds herself less worried about being found and more worried about being caught. After all, she has many more crimes to plot with her new family! It seems they needed her as much as she needed to have an adventure.


This is a fun story in the spirit of Pippi Longstocking or Roald Dalh and a fabulous caper for an independent reader 7+ or a bed-time story for younger children who love an adventure!

A wacky sweet wholesome book about the robbersons family that specialise in stealing sweets.

The robbersons drive all true the country with there bandit van on the lookout for the next big sweet heist. They have a couple of tricks to steal the sweet the fastest and everyone in the family has a special role to preform. One day when they heist another car for sweets they accidentaly steal a child. Maisie ( the stolen child) swears to herself to escape on the bandit festival but sooner if possible. But will she? Or does she rather stay with the robbersons when she gets to now them?

This was such a quick and cute read! its full of adventures and you better have a lot of candy with you while reading cause this book will make you hungry. ?I highly recommend this story if you like whacky adventures, Sweet and unlikely friends

M'ha recordat al tipus d'aventures de la Pippi.

Explica la història d'una família de bandits força adorable i com canvien les seves dinàmiques després d'haver robat una nena, qui aconsegueix canviar la seva manera de cometre els assaltaments.

M'ha encantat com el cap de la banda és alhora dur i infantil, per la qual cosa tothom intenta no portar-li la contrària i que es senti a gust. En general els personatges trenquen força amb estereotips i es veu una petita evolució en la manera de fer.

Compta amb una trama molt dinàmica i els jocs que fa tant amb les paraules com amb els noms dels capítols és genial. He trobat fantàstic que la Vilja estudiï el seu modus operandi de los Bandídez i en faci llistes analitzant-los.

Genial el joc de Dados de chocolate.

Me and the Robbersons was a beautiful whimsical book that middle grade readers will adore!

The story followed Kaise as she is stolen by the Robbersons and learns to live life the bandit way while also learning meaningful lessons and forming a strong bond with the family.

This book was funny, unique and brilliant in all ways! The writing had a sort of magical feeling to it that gripped the reader and didn't let go. The plot was very creative and definitely very unique! The characters were incredibly well rounded and funny which made me root for all of them.

Overall this was an delightful book and a pleasure to read. I would definitely recommend it!

Aivan mahtava kirja! Tätä lukiessa haluaa, että Rosvolat ryöstävät minutkin kesällä! Todella loistava ja hauska kirja jota kivasti rytmittää Viljan kirjoittamat muistiinpanot omaan muistikirjaansa.
Kesäjuhlista tuli mieleen Nummirock, vaikkakin Nummessa on paljon ystävällisempää ja yhteisöllisempää porukkaa kuin rosvojen kesäjuhlilla.
Hahmot ovat mielenkiintoisia ja dialogi on hyvää ja oivaltavaakin ajoittain. Varsinkin Hurja-Kaarlo on herkullinen hahmo.
Seuraavat kirjat menevät kyllä lukulistalle! Haluan tietää mitä seuraavana kesänä tapahtuu!

Oikein hyvä lastenkirja, joka jaksoi huvittaa sekä lapsia että aikuisiakin. Tarina oli sopivan anarkistinen mutta toisaalta jäsennelty, jotta se ei tuntunut rasittavalta. Tarinassa oli tosin muutamia epäloogisuuksia, jotka harmittivat. ( Miten Rosvolat eivät ymmärtäneet rahaa tai osanneet käydä kaupassa? Hehän olivat eläneet ihan normaalia elämää ennen ryhtymistä rosvoiksi.)
Joka tapauksessa oikein hyvä lastenkirja, joka houkuttaa tarttumaan jatko-osiinkin.

Story: On an ordinary June summer day, Maisie is kidnapped by a family of robbers.

Language: Near past, Finland countryside, adventure. A lot of action happens in the background.

Characters: Maisie is young and analytical and people pleasing. The Robbersons are not so bright and rather one dimensional.

I read this over two days. It felt like an 80's kids movie, so I wasn't surprised to find out a movie had been made.

Funny and full of crazy adventures! Children will relate to sensible Maisie as she unexpectedly finds herself attached to the colourful characters making up the Robberson family. Lots of challenging descriptions and amusing situations for young readers to embrace with humour! I had the movie going on in my head with this engaging book.

Als kind ging ik dit boek samen met mijn moeder lezen en ik weet nog hoe leuk ik het vond. Na een lange werk of school dag heb ik soms niet genoeg energie om te lezen, maar een kinderboek lukt dan wel. Dit is echt een super leuk boek! Denk voor 8 tot 10 jaar het leukst misschien.
Super leuk hoe ze met elkaar omgaan. Het einde had van mij alleen wel net iets meer over de familie mogen gaan.

Great book, great translation! This is cute and exciting and very, very nice to read. I was missing something at the end but that really only was a little thing.
