I gave this book the "old college try" but it just didn't do it for me. It wasn't that I didn't like the storyline-- it was actually interesting. My issue was the way it was written. Everything was told to the reader instead of letting us in on it while it was happening. There is very little dialogue within the first 25%-- which is all I could get through.

Plus this book contained probably my biggest pet peeve in books-- when the h/h "fall in love" after seeing each other once or twice and exchanging a few sentences. That just drives me nuts. I'm not a fan of books that pretty much take place in someone's head.

I was really hoping to like it too. I just couldn't get past this particular author's writing style. To be fair though, it is a personal preference.

I'm far too cynical to really enjoy a book like this. Typical plot structure, so no surprises but easy to read when you're on a beach, etc. There are a few things an editor should have caught - the first of which was on the first couple or pages.

I am giving this book 4 stars mostly for its potential. It is a good paced romantic suspense, with a good cast of characters. I have to admit I fell in love with this close knit family. There are a few flaws keep this from being a really great read. There needs to be a little more character development, you fall in love with them, and need a little more from them even though there are sequels to this book. There is also a need for a little more description with certain scenes. I really wanted to picture things in my head, but just couldn't quite get there. Other than that, I loved the good balance of suspense, romance and a good forward moving pace. Too many romantic suspense books drag things along with unneeded dialog or twisting and turning that does nothing for the story. There are good bones in this book, and as the author continues with the series, I hope she grows and develops this world into a great story.
If you want a fun light romantic read, I would definitely recommend this book, and series. This author and story has great potential.

Emma and Jake

Emma owns a cafe downtown, her dream come true. But somebody is trying to kill her. Her brother Mike is a cop and used to be in the military. His military buddy Jake is visiting and Mike asks him to help protect her. Jake calls in the rest of his security military guys to help protect her sisters. Jake and Emma are attracted to each other. A delightful love story !!!

Oh dear God. This was quite possibly the most trite and asinine book I have endured in a long while. Emma Bennett’s “supernatural super power”? Becoming crippled with pmt like symptoms whenever anyone is threatened with death. Meets the man of her deans who (the author may have mentioned every other page) has a very manly physique. The dialogue is littered with gooey lovey-dovey nicknames. If the over the top (much anticipated by the two protagonists through the first part of the book) sex scene wasn’t so graphic I’d have assumed this was a 2nd rate teen or a poor Mills and Boone knockoff novel. In short I will not be rushing to buy the next instalment.

Sweet

Emma and her family are gifted. Emma’s gift is intuition, and the ability to see a ghost.
Jake is a friend of Emma’s brother, he’s also the man her brother asked to help when Emma and he sister are chased by a knife wielding “giant”.
It’s not the last of the danger to Emma though, and Jake is more than willing to help...

A sweet romantic suspense, that introduces the Bennett family- a family with a little ‘extra’.
Those who enjoy paranormal suspense, and paranormal romance will enjoy.

I have been provided with a copy of Intuition by the author for an impartial review. This is the first book in the Bennett Sisters series and it was just a great way to start off a series. I just loved being introduced to these new characters and getting to go along for the ride with them. I just fell in love with each and every one of them and I just had so much fun reading this story. I can’t wait to read the next one in the series.

Predicatable and a little annoying

Luckily this wasn’t my first Series of Kate’s or I may not have kept reading. Characters “Fell in Love” too fast. For a woman that is so tough, she isn’t very smart. Mostly predictable. Just as suspenseful. Just wasn’t as well written as some of the other series. I’m hoping book 2 gets better or I might move on to another series. I will not give up on Kate as I feel the Lost Souls Society was such a fantastic series. I still have hope.

trouble not far behind

I like the Bennett sisters. They are really something sticking together and trying to make things work. Emma has trauma from when she was a little girl and it shows up in different ways throughout the story. Jake has trauma from when he was a teenager and that’s why he is overprotective. We see why they need each other so badly and how they work.

A close knit family they had secrets.Emma is determined to keep, as is someone wanting to quiet her. Jake a bodyguard to protect, and maybe more to love. Good and enjoyed the audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Typically when I go through lists of books to get next I go for the free ones. Something about this book caught my eye though so I decided to give it the chance and spend the 99 cents.

First off--I loved Momma Mae from the first page she was in. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more about her, only because there were hints about her life. It does however sound like things might come up in the sequel. Typically though, I don't read multiple books with different views of characters. Not that the others would be bad--but I just fall for the characters and don't want to let them go.

One of the things that greatly turns me off about books is when couples have known each other for like a week and are professing their undying love. I get it--sometimes you just have that feeling about someone. But let's be real--it doesn't always happen like that. So I was pleased that this relationship actually had some time to develop.

My one complaint is how certain things felt rushed--the end. It had this great steady pace throughout the novel, but then completely shifted into this quick end. That bothered me,but it was still good.

Overall, I was happy with my purchase and happy to recommend to another.

This is the second time I am reading the Bennett Sister's series because I enjoy them so much and also because of the new Bennett Family book just released.

The series follows each of the Bennett Sisters Emma, Abby, Claire as they deal with crisis in their lives at the same time as meeting their Mr Right.

Emma Bennett is the owner of Starlight Cafe. It's her dream come true the one that truly happened. She has recently broke things off with her ex (of 3 months) and her intutition is receiving PMS style symptoms when she or one of her siblings is in trouble. After having dinner with her sister Abby, they are chased after by someone wanting to cause her harm. Not knowing who is behind the threat or why, her brother Mike decides to hire his old Army buddy Jake to shadow her.

The more time spent together, the closer she lets down the shield around her heart and when her friendly ghost gives her nod of approval, they admit their true feelings. But all is not well, Emma still needs to confess her true abilities to Jake - unsure if he will reject her once everything is revealed.

With two identies threatening her livelihood, Jake and Emma must work together to overcome all barriers.

Delightfully cheesy. A light, paranormal romance with gorgeous girls, hot guys, and a bit of danger.
Jake is a private security expert, who happens to be visiting his army pal, Mike when Mike's sister Emma is attacked. Predictably, Jake turns into a bodyguard for Emma and they fall in love within a few hours (ok, two or three days). Jake has his hands full, trying to protect Emma, who has a tendency to run from problems. But when the chips are down, he comes through for her, for their happily ever after.
I wasn't expecting much from this book, just something to pass a few hours. There were some inconsistencies in the plot, and there was't much depth or complexity to either the characters or the plot, but it somehow works. Really, my feelings for the book are the first two- delightfully cheesy.

I would actually say its a 3.5/3.7
I really enjoyed it, especially because I am super obsessed with the Kathleen Turner series, which this reminds me alot of. I wish the author would have elaborated more. it seemed the HEA were rushed. I needed a bit more suspense. Plus I didn't feel like Jakes reactions and feelings were "mainly" enough lol I felt he was a bit of a sissy lala about his emotions. I would recommend it though :-)
