Andy Lohani is in a serious funk. The Yeti shifter is looking for love, or at least some loving, and when he meets Jenna Durham one dark night, sparks fly. She’s beautiful, sexy and hot for him. Getting her in his bed is job one. Unfortunately, she’s Normal and he’s really…not.
Accountant Jenna Durham doesn’t believe her brother’s crazy theories about Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster. But she agrees to check out a bar in northern Pennsylvania where her brother says Bigfoot hangs out. At least she’s getting an expenses-paid weekend away.
When Jenna meets seven-foot, blond and blue-eyed hunk Andy, she realizes she owes her brother one hell of an apology. Because she has a huge crush on the Abominable Snowman. And what he can do between the sheets is not something a girl could soon forget. But if she wants to keep him, she might have to give up her Normal life for one on the Fringe…

This book is a true reflection of my gigantic nerdy side.
Yes it is completely weird and kind of cheesy. But I really enjoyed this story about the man who is a Yeti and how he found love. Even though this story was not quite as good as Bigfoot's story in book one .... This book mentions Doctor Who ... Suddenly my geekiness takes over completely.
A fun, light read for all those who aren't too shy to admit they still believe in the supernatural. (Unicorns are real!) ;)
Jenna believes her brother Joss is crazy, just as many other people do. He is always on the hunt for some mythical being that few people believe exist. Jenna allows him to convince her to go look for their favorite bar. Joss is convinced that Bigfoot hangs out there. Jenna needing a little extra cash and some excitement in her boring life goes on this wild Wookie, er goose chase. Jenna is after all “sick of living in a world without wookies.”
Andy has been in a funk. He’s tired of the meaningless one night stands and if he were really honest with himself he is a bit jealous of his cousin Tim. Tim has found true happiness with a special someone and Andy has decided he wants that too. He is just a bit shocked when she drives up to his favorite hangout and he discovers she’s a Normal.
Andy and Jenna are both ginormous geeks wrapped in very sexy packaging. They make for an awesome couple to read! Their inner dialogue will have you giggling the entire book. Together they make a great pair. They are so different, yet they are certainly perfectly matched.
The Bigger They Are will work as a stand-alone. Tim and Carrie have very small roles, but I recommend reading their book too. This is a very sweet erotic series. The characters personalities make you smile. The Fringe beings have some interesting problems they have to deal with. They are attempting to blend in with a world where they are very different.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves erotic romance that features shifters, yet looking for something a bit different. You'll find a sexy Yeti with the looks of a Nordic god in these pages.
I like the nerd talk because it's a bit different and I guess even if you didn't know some of those reference, you'd still get it but it was funny how I knew about Doctor Who because I just discovered the show when it's been around for 50 years and seeing it mentioned in this story made me smile. Wish it was longer but I appreciate it for what it was.
This was the first book in this series that I read. I really enjoyed it. Jenna goes to help her brother write a story about supernatural beings living in Pennsylvania. There she meets Andy, a Yeti. Andy, along with other supernatural beings live in an area called The Fringe. After getting up close and personal with Andy, Jenna realizes that being Normal isn't as much fun as living on "The Fringe"
My Rating: 3.5 stars - Liked it a lot - recommend (B+)
It seems to Jenna Durham that she is always helping out her twin brother, Joss, when he needs money, and he always needs money. So when instead, he asks her to check out a remote location in Pennsylvania because Bigfoot may live there, she isn’t certain what to do. She adores Joss, but isn’t quite ready to believe that the supernatural world is real.
Jenna decides to take up Joss’s job offer and finds herself in the middle of nowhere, sitting in her car, parked in front of a rundown shack. When Andy, a giant blond god, strolls out of the structure and up to Jenna’s car window, she is ready to follow him anywhere. And Andy wants two things 1) to get Jenna away from the building that doubles as a bar for the “Fringe” beings (supernatural creatures) and 2) to get Jenna into his bed.
Overall, The Bigger They Are... is an enjoyable and fun story that doesn’t take itself seriously. The novella is full of quirky sci-fi references (which bodes well for a nerd-girl like me!), sexual innuendo, slap-stick humor and more pop culture references than I can count.
The first half of the story primarily focuses on Andy and Jenna getting to know each other via light banter. Although the humor had me chuckling out loud and the pop culture references were fun, after a while the constant references to comics, movies and TV programs began to crowd the flow of the story. And since I didn’t know all of the references, I felt like a third-wheel in their discussions.
However, the flow of the story changes about midway through the book when Andy and Jenna sleep together. First - they are HOT! I love Ms. Julian’s ability to write a sexy, erotic scene. Then, with the introduction of Joss’s friend, Mike, the storyline really picks up. And the uncovering of the “truth” to Jenna is highly entertaining (Andy is a Yeti shifter after all!). I breezed through the second half of the story and wanted to continue on. (Did I get a hint that maybe Joss’s story would be coming up soon?)
The Bigger They Are... is a FUN read! The story is full of humor and is highly entertaining. I recommend you pick up both novellas from the Lovers on the Fringe series for an amusing and enjoyable time!
"Fun, Witty and Quirky!" It is so great to find a treasure like this!. I love a book that will make you laugh and smile while reading it!. The story line is amazing and the Characters are fantastic!. Jenna is a spunky young woman who works at a boring job of an accountant. But her twin Brother Joss is just the opposite he is always trying to prove things like Ghosts and Big foot are real. He even lands a Job trying to proves these lol. Joss gets sent to Ireland and he calls Jenna needing help. He has learned of a possible yeti sighting. He wants Jenna to go investigate. He will pay her way and even pay her two thousand dollars to do so. So Jenna goes to Tioga County to check out the story. While there she meets a super sexy very tall Anadi Lohanial Aka Andy. Jenna falls hard for Andy only he has a secret that can change her life!. You will so love this Quriky and sweet Romance !!!. It is a must must read book!
(Nearly forgot I'd wanted to read this-- amusingly enough, reading the HOAX HUNTERS GN is what tweaked my memory.)
Plot-wise, I think I liked the first book better (partially because I have a hard time swallowing the idea of Jenna's brother as an actual threat). I think I liked Tim's personality better, but Andy's pretty darn appealing, himself. His one-man pity-party at the beginning of the book is pretty damn funny, and if anything, he's even steamier than his cousin. He's also got an appealingly goofy sense of humor, which helps keep the tone light.
This series strikes a nice balance between silly and steamy. It's light-hearted and fun and just the right amount of geeky. I *really* hope she keeps writing these.
(P.S.-- JUST noticed this is the same author as of the (WILDLY different, but also very well-written) Salon Games book. Whoa. I think I have a keeper!)
The first 33% moves at a glacial pace, in part because it's a bit repetitive, but mostly because the pace of the in-universe action doesn't match the real-life pace of the prose. You know how you can have a lot of thoughts/feelings in a split second that would take 10 minutes to convey in words? Well, for a while there, we get seemingly every split-second's worth of thoughts/feelings. Fleeting actions like a touch or a look seem to go on for ages, giving you the mental picture that they're just awkwardly frozen in place for the minutes it's taking to read all their wandering thoughts. Answers appear paragraphs from the initial question. (eg: “Are you okay?” followed by *apparent huge pause.*) At one point, h suddenly kisses H, omg! …and then we get six paragraphs of internal monologue before her tongue actually touches his lips. I got to that and was like, "what the hell? her tongue is only now making contact? what have they been doing all this time??" I kept having to remind myself: it's only been a split second.
The pace eventually picks up, but by that point, I'd had time to notice a bunch of Little Things that, added together, were casting a pall over my reading experience: • Didn't hate the characters, but didn't really connect with them, either. The Andy character wasn't very fleshed out compared to Jenna. What little I got I mostly liked, but his personality seemed patchy, like chunks were missing. • Honestly, the whole plot needed way more of suspension of disbelief than I was expecting. Which is kind of saying something, considering. But yeah. The whole thing just wasn't as (relatively!) believable as the first book. I felt a little silly reading it, tbh. • There are a lot of geeky refs to establish their shared nerd cred, but a lot of them were just shoehorned in there and felt super forced. Which was kind of grating. • A few too many current-at-the-time-of-writing pop culture references. Makes it feel dated already, and it's only been three years. • The conflict toward the end was… random. Not sure I fully understood it, and it wasn't clear exactly how it was resolved. • And I dunno, something about the constant harping on Andy's "exotic" appearance at the beginning made me… uncomfortable. It's not exactly glaring, but once I noticed it I couldn't un-notice it, and it just put me off the h ever so slightly. Like, the whole "where are you from? no like, where are you from originally," thing had me squirming. I just had to make a point to try to ignore it. (Thankfully, it fades.)
Upside, the sex scenes worked for me. The first one especially— nice. I tingled. Hooray for sexually self-possessed heroines and the men who sit still to be loved by them! Points for that! (Alas, points deducted for the surprise spanking later. That's usually an instant dealbreaker for me— I'll typically chuck a book mid-sentence for that— but I REALLY wanted to give this one a chance, so I kept on. At least it's just the one swat, but still. Stop doing this, authors.) There were also a couple of brief funny moments, and I did warm up to the characters a little more by the end. Grammar and editing were fine; no crimes against English. So there's that.

Andy is looking for that special someone. He is tired of the one night stands and scaring people because he is a Yeti. He is one sexy man who is jealous of his cousin for finding the woman that completes him. Jenna doesn’t believe in the paranormal. Her twin brother is all about it and has spent his whole life chasing after one story or another. When her brother asks her to go and check a bar out to see if it is a place filled with the paranormal, she at first doesn’t want to but she does anyway. All that changes when she notices a man walk out of a bar that is over 7 feet tall.
This is my first Yeti book and I loved it. I wish I had read the first one which was about Big Foot. Who knew that finding the person for you could be so hot and make you believe in anything. This author is a new author for me and I loved how she wrote this short story. Makes me want to truly believe that there are Yeti’s. If I saw a 7 Foot man walking around it would make me think that maybe he is one. The characters in this book just made me laugh. I laughed over the fairy whose name was Fry. Just imagining him drinking moonshine past out in a gremlin. The author just made everything so real and made it easy to imagine this really happening.
I can’t wait to find more books by this author just to see what other things she writes about. She is a great story weaver. I hope that there will be more in this series. If she wrote about Big Foot and a Yeti finding love I wonder what could be next. I couldn’t imagine taking one home and interducing them to my family. Well now that I think of it, it does have some great possibilties. No one would be crazy enough to mess with me if I had a Yeti. This book was something I will be keeping on my kindle to read again. It has a great love story and some pretty hot scenes.
So if you love something that is a little different and want to read a great paranormal then this book is for you.
