This book was amazing, I couldn't put it down. I found myself crying whilst reading this which was odd because I have never cried in a book. A tragic story but a good one.

A lot of lovely detail about families, relationships and past family life. I thought the characters were well developed. It's a little dated now but a good read for those that enjoy gentle historical fiction.
