Introducing the Kryptonite Klaw! Superman is vulnerable to Kryptonite, but what happens when other dangerous superhumans are exposed to it? If Superman wants to stop Metropolis’s newest enemies, he must uncover Lex Luthor’s secret past!
An issue that pulls the unexpected and nicely stirs the pot for the next arc. Whilst this might not be the most memorable run so far, the Superman vibes are still going really strong and it's hard not to enjoy it.
The art by Jamal Campbell in this series is terrific. It's some of the best that I've seen, personally. I just love the look of the characters and the city of Metropolis. The art in the flashback by Nick Dragotta didn't impress me as much, but I thought it was neat that it changed. I'm not familiar with the Silver Banshee so I'm not sure what to think about any of that. I thought her normal form at the beginning was actually Livewire. These two new villains, Pharm and his assistant, are VERY creepy. I like this series a lot so far and look forward to the next installment.
IMO not the strongest of issues. But I want to know more about the evil scientists. I don't know if it's just that I don't like the art that makes me not enjoy this comic as much as the other Superman stories, or if I'm just disappointed by the plot moving SO slowly. I get it's spaced out on purpose and how things work in the modern comic age but I'm just not loving it this moment and I hope that the next issue picks back up for me.
This is my first Superman comic, but I'm enjoying it a lot. I'm really becoming a Joshua Williamson fan. The storytelling is just very good the plot is interesting too. I like the villains used a lot as well. Silver Banshee is so fun, and her dating Jimmy Olson is kinda funny imo (I've seen YouTube videos about how much Jimmy dates around) Marilyn Moonlight is intriguing too. Really enjoying it!
This new format stil feels strange after 4 issues. We have a longer main issue without backup story sold $4.99. But really nothing much happens. The art is beautiful and the overly optimistic Superman is fun to read, but the +$1 value is simply not there (all the more compared to the new format of Action Comics).
The way Joshua Williamson writes Superman and Lex has been the absolute highlight of this series for me so far! I’m sure I’m only like the millionth person to say this, but it’s crazy how much “Superman: The Animated Series” vibes this gives off. So happy that I’m loving a Superman book for a change!
Lex was a hero? I don’t know if I should believe that. I’ve also missed a lot of story around the Silver Banshee. What’s going on there? When did they fall in love? I don’t want to spoil the last page but it was so cute.
