The book opens with Scarlet—a shy accountant with a boring life—packing for a camping trip. The trip brings with it several revelations about her life, especially that now she has Bo, an ex-demon soldier in it.
Bo has left his post as the commander of a demon army and is now acting as Scarlet's protector, a witch who beguiled him the moment he laid eyes on her.
Demon Protector is a fast-paced story that has passion entwined within its folds.
Author Lauren Pilla created an enthralling world in which a battle will hopefully rid the world of demons' dominance. Scarlet plays a great female protagonist in it, and Scarlet takes no prisoners.
Demon Protector is a marvelous story with a twist I didn't see coming and an idea that is worthy of becoming a series!

Bo is a demon who grew a conscious, not a good combination in his world. So he turns rogue and begins to help the witches his boss is determined to slaughter to gain their power. Tall, dark handsome and very French, Bo is a charming choice for a hero. He protects Scarlet and entrances her at the same time. I can’t say I blame her, but with everything going on it was hard to believe it was love and not just lust.
Demon Protector is an entertaining read, with red hot sex and an interesting concept. What it lacks in depth it makes up for in description. If you’re looking for an action filled quick read, this is the perfect one for you.

It's a "Five Cups of Love" read!
This was an adventure that gripped me. Will she get away? Will he be able to get over his past? Will she? I must say that the well thought out character arcs of this story was the driving point. Each must grow and change in their own way before they can find their happily ever after, whether that's together or apart. The author does a great job of incorporating the sexual aspects of attraction between the couple as well. Each scene held something a little different which made the story flow easier and seemed less repetitious. The demon was a unique character and addition to the paranormal genre.
