Alpha Jace Beckett is not willing to commit himself to a mate—even if his hold on humanity is quickly slipping away without the grounding presence of the final member of his triad.

Jackson Scott is beta and triad partner to Jace. Jackson knows they both need that one woman to complete their triad, love them, and give them a future filled with tenderness, caring, and cubs.

Laurie Young is their fated triad mate—a human who knows nothing of their world. They need her to accept their wolves and their mating. Her children would be theirs, and they would do everything to protect her from her abusive ex. They just have to convince her to stay with them and accept that they were fated to share a life together. She has to know that they loved and wanted her even before they realized she was carrying their baby.

Everyone was sh*tting rainbows in this book. The heroes were perfect and sweet and hung like horses. The heroine was a gentle kind soul who everyone just loved except for her evil ex who was super super evil. She meets the pack and they love her to death - after one day. All the kids think she is the bestest person in the world after she plays a game of football with them. Barf I have a toothache from all this sweetness.

The heroes meet the heroine and know she is their mate then it's all "we will love each other forever and become a perfect triad and have lots of babies". Cue no angst whatsoever. So they are werewolves? That's fine, the perfect gentle heroine doesn't mind. So you want to put both of your enormous dongs inside the heroine at the same time? Wait - what?

Yeah two wangs in the honey cave. At the same time. Not sexy at all, that just sounds painful and all I can think of are the words loosy goosy.

This book was hard to get through because of the saccharin sweetness and all the unrealistic love fests. I was either bored, annoyed or freaked out by nasty dual wang penetration.

Just a few complaints comments.

Everybody in this story is too perfect. The men are hot, sweet, noble, giving, and protective. The only hint of any issues from them died a very quick death. Laurie is all sweetness and light. She's everything that's good and kind, despite the hard life she's had. And she cries at the drop of a hat, regardless of which emotion is manifesting at the time. Her biggest problems are her self-esteem and her need to protect everybody by shutting them out. Her kids are strong and independent, as well as caring and protective. The villains are obviously the villains. (You can't miss 'em.)

It was all too much at times, and inspired much eye-rolling from me. That being said, I'm still going to buy the next one in this series. I'd like to see what happens in the other relationships that are forming. Maybe somebody in the next one will be a total jackass, which would be awesome.

I finished it but really struggled... I just could not get over the fact that this chick's eyes filled with tears or she cried over EVERY THING!!!!

I hated this book. Hate. Hate. Hated. This was the fist book I ever sent back for a refund. All the women do is cry in this book. In every single scene Laurie is in she is crying. "Her eyes filled with tears." "Tears filled her eyes." I tried to count how often these phrases are used but I lost count because it seemed like one occurred at least every other page. The grandmother cries, the other women cry. At a few points the men are even crying. And the majority of the tears aren't even over the sad events of her past. They're everyday interactions. She watches the men interact with the children (this happens several times), & there are tears. She watches the 2 young boys & the little girl play, & she stifles a sob. She sees a young child being held on anyone's lap (this one happens more than once from different perspectives) & everyone's crying. While there were tragic things that happened to Laurie, the majority of the book is sugary sweet candy land that isn't really sad. A game of tag, happy dinner parties, frolicking in the sun by a creek. And I'd never felt more like an outsider looking in on a book than while reading about all the characters weeping while fun & happy events were going on.

Where to begin?!

I hemmed and hawed about whether I should give this a single star or a double. The plain truth is that this book is really not very good. The premise is rehashed from thousand of others of it's kind. The characters were cringeworthy. The fuzzy warm feelings and love and kindness that flowed from all Laurie, Jace and Jackson knew was enough to make me poop a rainbow and give birth to a unicorn. I am almost positive that Laurie has some sort of lacrimal condition because she tears up over just about everything. And if I had to read one more person look at some one with open caring, obvious caring, great caring, complete caring, deep caring, open love, naked love, full love, obvious love, full love... ad infinitum Thesaurus meet Lynnette. Lynnette... you need a new best friend.

But those really aren't the worst of it. I think despite the brain damage I was giving myself by making myself finish the book because it was a part of my July Book Challenge the real problems I had with it was actually the relationship between the main characters.

So why the second star? I gave it two stars for just one reason and one reason only. I totally was amused to no end the method of claiming the mate. I have read a lot of these menage shifter books and at least this differed from the typical method. I can't say that it intrigued me in any way to think hard enough to want to imagine it in great deal, but hey a cursory thought on it was enough for me to give it a second star for originality.

I would probably rate this story closer to a 3.5 than a 3 star. I like the concept of the story with the triad mates. It was interesting but there were a couple of things that kept me from rating the story higher: (1) Laurie's vacillation between they want me/they want me not irritated me. It got old about the fifth or sixth time of her questioning their desire for her; (2) None of the non-shifters found the use of "mate", "alpha", or "pack" at all strange. I don't think it was questioned even once. Neither by Laurie when she first arrived on the ranch or later by Nikki, Mia, or Dean. They were just way to accepting of the weirdness. The dialogue was a little quirky in some spots but overall I enjoyed the story and read the book in one setting.

I liked the story's premise with the triad mates, the combined DNA, the Fates...but, it didn't grab me the way that I wanted it to, and the sex was just ho-hum. I actually skimmed a lot of that. It just didn't do it for me. I wanted to like it more, but there was just something missing. I'm not sure what it was, but there it is. I will say that I was surprised to find that Laurie was just so helpless. I feel like she would never truly be an Alpha female because she just didn't seem like enough of a fighter to me. Maybe she's going to get stronger as the series goes on.

I am interested in the next book because I liked the female lead, Nikki, in this book. I'll give the series one more try but if it still doesn't grab me, I think I'll just let it go at that point.

This book was kind of ridiculous. A ménage consisting of two male wolf shifters and a human female. My rating is actually based on the fact this book picked up in the second half. It was very sappy. The Hero's were way too emotional for alpha men and the h cried for every little emotion, be it sad or happy. I do love a book where the H is completely in love and will do anything to make his h happy, however this was just plain crazy. Ok now let me mention the mating/bonding..WTF! It was creepy and cringeworthy. And can someone PLEASE explain what the hell a "mating knot" is? My saving grace was the HEA. This book has several more in the series and they are on my TBR list, however I am going to read as many reviews as I can before I continue. IF I continue.

I wanted to love it but found it lacking. Issues would come up but were never resolved. The characters were too accepting of weird stuff. I'm sorry but people question the world around them more then that. I don't need all my questions answered but I do like to understand why. Between the ex and the tea I was left wondering what was the point and what happened.

I liked how the Hero’s weren’t controlling. Most shifter Romance’s have OTT controlling alphas that are really assholes. These were really sweet and made sure she was fully informed before they claimed her.
I didn’t like that they kept a secret about her own body for half of the book. I was a little upset that they were taking advantage of her in the beginning with them being in wolf form.
Her...she was very sweet but cried in every scene. Her emotional episodes from pregnancy were just the same as when she wasn’t. It was very annoying.
I didn’t care for the writing style but I didn’t have to read about douchey heroes so I dealt with it.
Also, it was way too long. It may have been fine if they would have been dating doing the get to know you thing. You know, having an actual conversation.

Laurie Young comes to the Circle Three Ranch for a long over due vacation. As the mother of grown twins, stressed by the continual harrassment of an abussive ex-husband who has left her feeling unattractive and worthless, Laurie has no idea her life is about to change forever. Then it happens, he smells the third to his and Jackson's Triad. She is here among this small group of stangers. His instincts lead him to find her and claim her. Then he finds out she in a small, skittish, curvy human. As he and Jackson try to woo Laurie, Laurie fights her attraction to very attractive, virile men. She believes there must be something wrong with her, that this attraction is so against nature. Jace and Jackson work to show Laurie the attaction is natural to their people and that they both are attracted to her. When her ex-husband begins threatening Laurie's blossoming self-confidence and romance the stakes become even higher.

With threats to Laurie from within the pact and without Jace and Jackson do all within their power to keep her safe and find the ones who pose a threat to their familiy. The story will keep you enthralled from the first paragraph. This series is one that will have you checking often to see when the next installment is schedule for release. Lucky for you Book 2 - Babies for Nikki is already out and Susannah's Saviors is scheduled for release on February 19th. I have already ordered mine and avidly awaiting the day I can download it to my Kindle.

Lynnette Bernard is a kind and generous person who enjoys hearing from her readers. She puts a little of herself in each of her novels. She wants everyone to know that you deserve someone who will cherrish you for the treasures we are. We all need a romance that will make us stop and sigh on the hope that we will find such a romance for ourselves. They may not be perfect, but our own heroes are out there looking for us. Until we find them or just to remind ourselves why we love our mates enjoy Lynnette's novels. Each one is a treasured keeper to be read again and again.

Lynnette Bernard is from a large and loving family and is also a talented author without a doubt, but she is also a survivor of life. Lynnette began writing her first book at the tender age of 14. She has known rejection of her work like most authors, but never gave up. She eventually was signed on with Siren Publishing, a smart move on their part. She has two series going at present but if you go to her website, http://www.lynnettebernard.com/ you will see she has many different novels swirling around in that busy mind of hers. I wish there was a quicker process to getting the raw ideas from her thoughts down onto paper (or computer). She is a writer through and through, like most authors she would probably bleed words if you were to cut her.

When she gets a moment to relax she likes to read almost anything she can get her hands on or go to the movies or the beach. Her greatest joy is her family, her children, brothers, sisters and mother. The strongest and greatest infuence in the making up the characteristics of her male heroes is her father. Many of the characteristics of her heroines come from Lynnette herself. In each and every book family is the main driving force. Children are nutured and loved just as Lynnette and her family cherish their children, as should we all. Her stories remind us that love shines bright in the darkness of adversity. It is how we face life's trials that makes us the people we are, fault and fallicies included. Bending is allowed but not letting it break us completely is how we grow in strength and character. Using that premiss I can honestly say Lynnette Bernard is one of the strongest women I know.

Lynnette Bernard believes in happily ever after just as most of us do. We know love is not perfect, but it can be the best thing in our lives. Sometimes we do not get it right the first time, but if we are lucky we do find it, until then we have authors like Lynnette to keep the hope of finding it alive in all of us. The creed Ms Bernard lives by would be the quote: “The heart knows what it needs.” She truly believes and lives by this quote. Lynnette said it best herself when she stated, "Every one of us has a basic need for acceptance, kindness, and love. That’s why every one of my books will always have a Happily Ever After, and the men and women will be kind and loving toward one another. Life is too hard. In my books, kindness and love will reign." Lynnette Bernard could be your neighbor or co-worker, a woman worth knowing.

I had recently be gifted a copy of Lynnette Bernard’s Cowboy Series and fell in love with those characters and her writing style. I made a comment that I wanted to check out her paranormal series but was concerned because I didn’t know if her style would be enough for me to really invest in a paranormal book. She kindly offered to give me the series in exchange for an honest review. I mean let’s be serious, if you can get a reader who doesn’t understand or like shifter stories to like your book, and then you know you must be on to something right?

When I received the series I thought I would give the first book a quick glance. I had a to do list a mile long, but I was curious about Laurie’s Loves. Unfortunately for my to do list, nothing really got done yesterday because once I started the book I couldn’t put it down. Even woke up at two this morning to read some more and was up again at six with kindle in my hand. What made this addicting for me? The human element of the story. Even the shifters presented themselves to me as human beings with the same emotions, fears and angst that I have; therefore I could connect and identify with them on so many levels. Now I am not a pro at the shifter genre and there were a few loose ends in this story that I still wonder about, but overall I am hooked and a proud card carrying fan of Beckett’s Wolf Pack series.

Laurie is the mother of two young adult twin children that she has raised by herself from day one. Her husband was abusive and jealous of the time the kids took away from her. He had no love for anyone. After saving every penny she took a vacation to the ranch where she meets Jace and Jackson, along with their whole pack. She had been torn down by her ex so much, she didn’t see herself as anything other than old, fat and stupid, along with very ugly. What the guys saw was their beautiful mate and they were determined to claim her as soon as possible.

Jace was jaded, vowing to never find the mate that would calm his wolf and be able to contain his emotions; he fought daily to remain a fair alpha for his pack. Jackson was the beta, second in command and he was much more laid back and easy going than Jace, but he could feel the struggle flaring inside his triad partner. Jace and Jackson have been able to talk to each other since they were kids, not verbally but through their thoughts so when Laurie came onto the ranch they both knew she was the one they had been searching for their whole lives. Will they be able to protect her when someone wants her dead? Will they be able to accept that Laurie is a package deal? Along with her love they will have to accept her friend, children and yes even the threat of her ex-husband.

You will be introduced to many members of this pack family and watch as Laurie just naturally fits in with each person. She has a unique kind of love and compassion that draws people to her but she also has enemies that want to destroy her and insecurities that will keep her paralyzed in life. This book wasn’t just a love story; it had action and drama that will keep you turning those pages. It is also a story of letting go of the past, releasing the fears and burning the old tapes that play on repeat in your mind, keeping you from taking risks and finding your happily ever after. I was so engrossed by this book, I quickly started book two before I even thought about how to write this review. This pack of humans/wolves have fascinated me, drawn me in to their world and even made me a bit jealous that it is fiction and not someplace I can go to in real life. I look forward to reading the whole series and getting to know each of the characters better.

I never like giving such a low review, but I have to say this book bored me to tears. The "drama" was easily solved. The connection between the H, H And h was superficial at best. I found my self not even caring about the supporting caricatures. I forced my self to finish this book due to the price I payed for it. I can't say I'd recommend this book. And I won't be buying from this author again. This could have been a really good book but it just fell flat.

I get that this is an Erotic novel and thus the main topic's supposed to be the sexual relationship between the main characters but... It got old really fast. Don't get me wrong it was hot as he!! but most of the time I just skimmed through them in order to continue on to the next scene.

This story had a wonderful plot and secondary characters which was what let me salivating for more and wanting to skip the sex scenes in order to get to those. This story would have been even more incredible if there had been a balance in the storyline between the sexual scenes and the rest of the story. There were times when a really interesting subplot was introduced but you were left wanting because right then the trio would slip into a sex scene that lasted like 40+ pages. 8o| It was really frustrating!!!

I've read many Erotic books that have an incredible balance between the storyline and the sexual encounters that leave you really satisfied with both aspects and with a well rounded feeling. This book could have been like that because the author had the storyline to back it up and make it even better. It seems she just chose to focus on the sexual aspect of the trio's relationship more.

Oh well, onward to my next reading selection... It may or may not be book 2 of this series. Although thinking about it, I might insert another author for my next reading before I tackle Nikki's story because if it'll be more sex than storyline I think I better take a break from this author's style of writing before tackling her next book. Otherwise I won't get to enjoy it and just get frustrated again. Don't get me wrong, I like me some hot sex scenes in my romance novels, but sometimes there's a point where if you pass it things can turn too much porno and loose the romantic aspect of things. Well, at least that's my opinion.

Later gator!

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

~MINOR SPOILER ALERT~

Laurie's Loves happens to be the first book I have read by Lynnette Bernard, but it will NOT be my last. This story was so powerful. The writing was great with some major sexy alpha males and the one woman that makes both of them feel things that they never thought to feel. Lynnette takes us into the world of wolf shifters who are looking for their one true mate. Jackson and Jace are triad partners and now all they need to be complete, is the one woman meant to be theirs.

They get that mate in a beautiful, shy woman named Laurie. She has NO IDEA shifters exist because she is a human. She happens to find the town where these shifters are only because she is looking for a nice place she can relax and enjoy her vacation from her nasty abusive ex. The moment Jace sees Laurie he knows right away from her scent what she is to him and Jackson and he isn't prepared for it at all. In fact he tries to fight it, but the desire and need for his mate is uncontrollable and soon he is falling in love with Laurie. Jackson on the other hand has no issues and he also knows that she is their destined mate, but instead of wanting to fight the attraction, he goes all out to show her how much he wants her.

I really loved the plot to this romance. It was thought out and fit the story well. The characters are definitely some of the finest. I love the compassion, the strength, the passion, and the love. The sex was just MIND BOGGLING GOOD! This happens to be the first story I ever read with double vaginal penetration and I was stunned on how erotic and sexy yet sweet it was. I gave this story a FOUR AND A HALF SHOOTING STARS!! Laurie's Loves is a definite favorite and I will be adding this to my books-that-must-be-reread-often shelf. Yes, its THAT good!! Well done Lynnette Bernard. Well done.

Laurie has spent her life loving and protecting her children from their self centered mentally deranged father, who has tormented her, her children and her only friend Nikki for the last fifteen year and made her life hell for the five years she was married to him. She needs a break so she books a week, she can barely afford, at a ranch where she meets Jace and Jackson. They are drool worthy but so out of her league besides the baggage she is carrying is enough to choke a horse and no man wants or needs that mess or her.

Jace and Jackson are triad partners and leaders of their pack. Jace things woman are only out for all they can get and has no desire to find their mate where as Jackson can't wait to find their mate so she can help ground them and keep them from becoming more wolf than man.

Laurie's Loves is a very compelling story that I have read so many times that if it was a paperback I would be replacing it for the next read.

When I first started reading erotic paranormal I read books like Lynnette Bernard’s LAURIE’S LOVES. Oh, sure, they weren’t always ménages but the stories were, and are, about werewolves finding their fated mates. A little bit cheesy? Perhaps, but I’ve got to admit a guilty pleasure – I still enjoy them, and I had fun reading this book.
So, put your rational side in a box, don’t look for everything to make sense as it would in your life, and accept that this is erotic fiction of the fairy tale sort. I had a ball reading this book and look forward to the next books in the series. Sometimes you read a book simply for pleasure, not to learn lessons or critique the story. LAURIE’S LOVES is one of those books. Enjoy.

After reading this book, it had me hooked into this series because of the characters and because of how well written this book was.

I loved how Laurie wasn't your "bottle blonde wanna be model type", by her description she was just your average woman. I love how this book showed that even though the woman was an older woman, she was still able to find love, and in Laurie's case, loves.

This book was a great beginning to a new series, I think it was amazing how you learn a little about the characters from the future books, but it doesn't over take the story at hand.

I have recommended this book to many of my friends!!

It was indeed sometimes a bit cheesy. At times it felt like the author wanted to nail all the cliché cornerstones of a romance: good-looking men (she was riding that fact very hard with multiple explicit mentions of how they look) who have some wealth and an insecure heroine tortured by her past. What really started to annoy me was the constant expressions of the terms "forever" and "for the rest of their lives"
Other than that the basic story was nice even though it was almost smothered by the aforementioned "faults" which made the suspense parts really small (the conflicts were solved a bit too fast for my taste).

2.5 stars.

Unfortunately this one didn't work for me. I liked the premise of fated mates forming a triad (because I was in the mood for some hot shifter ménage) but the details didn't quite work. The heroine's lack of confidence was annoying and apparent for most of the book - the "I'm not good enough"/"they don't want me" trope got boring after the first dozen times and since it wasn't a world that shifters were known to exist why did no one question the use of mates, alpha and pack before the big reveal? It was a little too simplistic and the characters were one dimensional for my taste. I didn't hate it (though I did almost DNF it) but I wish I liked it more. :(

Laurie had a very abusive relationship. Out of that she had two beautiful children that are now out on their own. She took a vacation to think about her life and possible reboot it. Never in her dreams did she think two shifters would be hers.

The Alpha and Beta of the pack, Jace and Jackson, have been waiting a long time to find their mate. Now, she just walks through their front door. They will do anything and everything to keep her and protect her and her children.

A wonderful story of fate and love.

I thought this was a good shifter book. It has some drama and a little suspense. I found it to be entertaining, and isn't that why we read them in the first place? :) What I did't like is that the heroine was constantly getting teary eyed. If I had to read how her eyes filled with tears one more time I was going to yank all my hair out...then grab a box a tissue because I would then be crying! All in all a good book.

Well, let me say that I really enjoyed this book.
It was an extensive reading, but it's a good book.
The only «bad» thing that I have to say about this book, is that the female character(Laurie), was always crying.
She thought of her past, she cried, someone tells her something nice and guess what? She cries!
But other than this, it was a pretty good book.
It had a little bit of everything. It had passion, love, friendship, hot sex, hot guys, etc...

I loved how romantic and loving the guys were. Only issue I had was everybody crying at a drop of a hat. Good story. Really enjoy the story and the way each triad partner contributed to the relationship. The characters were sometime sickly sweet. Did get put off by the crying burly alpha guys but cos it easy n cheesy read I really liked it.

Wonderful read

Laurie has been worn down by an abusive ex and loneliness. She arrives at the ranch and instantly finds Jace and Jackson the alpha and beta of their pack. Hot as only alpha and betas can be they soothe her and bring order to her world. The story is warm and engaging. The secondary characters are well written and truly add to the story. Enjoyed this one immensely.
