A perfectly fine book on how to develop fictional characters. There's some handy info herein, though most of it can be found in every other book on the topic. Much of this, maybe even half of Developing Characters is filled with excerpts from novels used as examples.

A more advanced creative writing book with nuanced detail on crafting better characters, better than the usual creative writing books that just contain the basic details.
