Pleasuring the Professor

Rate this book
Liam Conner was once a literary darling, but now he’s trying to drink himself to death in the seclusion of his mountain cabin. He’s not much interested in sex after the personal tragedy that ended his career, but his libido kicks into high gear when a beautiful blonde shows up in the middle of a snowstorm.

Grad student Clarie Lewis is out to nab an interview with the reclusive subject of her thesis. When Liam throws political correctness to the wind and offers to give her an interview if she’ll sleep with him, she’s not sure whether he’s trying to drive her back out into the snow or if he really is just horny. Both, probably.

Clarie doesn’t need to sleep with anyone for a grade. But she finds herself alone in a remote cabin with a man whose prose she’s been analyzing and appreciating for as long as she can remember. The fact that he’s gorgeous as sin doesn’t hurt either.

Suddenly, it doesn’t seem like such a bad idea.

As a teen, Angela Claire worked in a graveyard, mowing lawns. She thought it was the worst job she'd ever have. Unfortunately, she went on to practice law. Once free of that horror, she turned to writing. Her stories always include a sassy heroine because she doesn't know any other way to write them and a hero who's to die for. When she isn't writing, she'd rather be. She has published over 20 books with Entangled, Siren Bookstrand and Ellora's Cave. Her latest is Tempting the New Boss, out from Entangled. She is represented by Kerry D'Agostino at Curtis Brown, LTD.

So normally, meeting and then having sex wouldn’t have made a good start. I’m so damn impressed with this author because that beginning worked. The characters feel real and deep from the very start and the sex between strangers is well done here. (I never thought I’d say that but it’s true). And that first sex scene! Holy hell! http://thetbrpile.weebly.com/reviews/...

Well, for about 75% of this book, I'm wondering why this girl isn't hightailing it out of that cabin. Liam was an ass. On the one hand, I understand him being an ass... he was dealt some pretty crappy cards in life... but damn he could be cruel! I'm glad ultimately everything worked out and there was a great HEA, but she definitely had way more patience than I think most people would have with someone who acted like he did. But I suppose that was partially because she was so enamored with him and/or his work before she actually met him. Plus, they had that unique common thread. And they definitely had chemistry!

Was prepared to hate this book and in parts, I really did find my patience tested but the ending was great and it made me smile. A quick read, too.

Loved a quote from this book, especially since I never expected to find something like that. It goes..."No more than a moment in a sea of hours, but when our limbs and lips met and joined, we were one in that moment."
