At the beginning of this second installment in the Angels of the Night series, we are thrust into Allison’s heart pounding nightmare in which Darcy has become intensely involved with a female vampire. These images haunt Allison so powerfully she believes he no longer loves her and is even more determined to bring him home.

Together with the Darcy’s triplet Robert, a dark vampire whose intentions are not entirely clear, and Thomas MacGregor, Allison’s faithful guardian friend, Allison leaves her hometown to find Darcy and bring him back. An unexpected problem has surfaced, however, and a desperate plan is put in place. Allison must make the ultimate sacrifice to save Darcy but soon realizes this is only the beginning of her struggle. Her entire world is about to be shaken to the core by a coven of female vampires and Allison must put her faith, and her heart, in the hands of the one she fears most.

Divinity is the second book in the Angels of the Night series and I was really looking forward to reading it since the first book, Discovery, left me wanting to know what happened with Darcy and Allison. Kennedy has continued the series in a spectacular fashion that will have everyone talking about this emotional roller coaster. I really liked the characters in the first book, but I fell in love with them in Divinity. Allison is stronger, more confident and knows better what she wants. Still a Free Mason, she has rules to follow, but she is finding her own two feet and not letting them dictate her life. When Allison finds Darcy, however, she is thrown for a loop and teeters on the edge of a broken heart, not knowing if Darcy will ever remember their past; if he does will he forgive her for what she’s done? Robert, Darcy’s remaining triplet brother, continues to be a character that I can’t figure out. He seems to truly care for Allison and in doing what’s right, but he is a dark vampire under Jonas’s thumb, so is he really what he seems? Along with all the characters returning from the first book, we also get introduced to some of the female vampires and get a great taste of their vicious nature.

If you were a fan of the first book in the Angels of the Night series you are sure to love the series even more after reading Divinity. Paula Kennedy has a way of describing the world in the story that brings it to life. Add in the unforgettable cast of characters and you have a book that you are hard pressed to put down and one you won’t forget long after the last page. As with the first book Discovery, I would recommend this for those over the age of 17.

I cant wait to see whats going to happen next in the series. Paula keeps you guessing and turning the pages. Even though this is a YA book, anyone that loves vampire books will love this series!!!

3 months are up and Ally is ready to go to find Darcy. She finds out hes in NYC but hes with the only female vampire that can control her blood lust. Dread and jealousy push her to get there fast, but she has no idea what shes in for. Darcy has been captured by another female vamp. They have to get him back, and when they do Darcy is a different person. Something has happened to his memory, well at least his memories of Ally. So when he finds out she was a part of his twins death, it just makes him hate her all the more. What makes it worse is Thomas is in trouble for taking her to find him, and there is a threat of the oldest female vamp and her coven killing innocents in large groups. Ally is in for the fight of her life and heart. Will she make a deal with the devil to win? And what will the devil ask in return??

The first book in this series was really good and I liked the new take on vampire lore. There were some spelling issues that really annoyed me but overall it didn't take away from the story. Also, I hated how the first book kind of left you hanging. This second book, Divinity, wowed me!!! I didn't come across one spelling issue and let me tell you the chemistry between Allison and Darcy is electric. I couldn't put it down. It was a roller coaster of emotions and ultimately I was very happy with the ending. You will totally love this series. Looks like book 3 is in the works.
