With a new president in office - and an apprehensive new ally in the Inner Circle - the men planning for the end of the world face new struggles. Will the space station be finished in time? How will they get passengers on board the space station without giving away the secret of Comet Clement?
Tyler Ainsworth faces his own troubles with his seacraft. He needs more money to complete his boat but doesn't want to go to the Inner Circle for fear of losing even more control. How will he raise the funds? Can he maintain control of his seacraft's ownership? Will his high-class passengers lose their patience while waiting for the end of the world?
The underground facility deep in the Ural Mountains seems to face the least amount of problems and some of the space station's staunchest supporters wonder if they've made a big mistake looking to the heavens for safety.

This is a great series -- I just finished book 4 and am looking forward to starting on 5. Yes, there are some typos and missing words and a need for better editing, but for some reason it doesn't bother me. There are many subplots and a variety of characters that keep the story moving along nicely-- so nicely that it is hard to put down.
I just have this one nagging question that keeps pulling at my brain-- with only 3 months until impact, why have NO amateur astronomers noticed there is a comet headed towards Earth? Or for that matter, other nations? It's not like you can hide it. I think in the real world there would be information all over the internet about an incoming comet, even if the government ignored it, denied it, and labelled it as a conspiracy theory, as they often do, there would be YouTube videos, articles on blogs etc. all over the place. And in many languages from many countries. It would be very hard to keep it a secret as they have been doing.
But, since this is fiction, I will have to accept that for some reason this is not the case. It is still a good series.
I truly enjoyed this sequel of Comet Clement series. So now I'm going to have to purchase the next sequel because all my questions weren't answered. The plot thickens. I feel like I have become emotionally connected to the characters in the book. I would recommend this series to any YA or sci-fi enthusiast. a definite Goodreads
My wife got this book for me because it was a free one on Amazon. I thought, just how good can a free book be? Well, this book proved that a free book can be a fun read.
Based on a discovery that the world is going to be destroyed on a certain date, three different organizations develop a means by which they hope to save the human race, hence the title, Three Arks.
l really liked this book because of the way they have started to pull the tension of the impact together. The impending asteroid impact is starting to become quite palpable. It is an exciting and terrifying time on Earth.
Planning, scheming, and final plans in place for surviving Comet Clement. The main surprise is the only three countries the president told about the impending disaster. What about Europe and Israel? Highly recommend.
The premise of this series is interesting. The writing is sometimes clunky. The three arks refers to the three methods of trying to continue the human species after Comet Clement hits. The three methods remind me of The Seven Eves where there is a group who takes to a cave, another in a sea bottom lab, and the last on a space station. I can hardly wait to see how the space borne people return to earth after much of life on earth is extinguished.
I started this series with this book. It is a good, quick read. Interesting enough so that I think I will finish the series. Curious to see how the author will play out some of his main characters. This is a good series for young readers to get them to read more.
I had no idea this wasn't a stand alone novel and that's disappointing since I'm not a fan of serial writing. The premise is interesting and I'll probably read the next one in the series. Many, many characters....too many to reference in a single review. Not sure the John/Colin due story is necessary. That seemed to take me away from the plot.
The Inner Circle plan continues with further development of the approaches to meet the impending disaster- There background of individual characters are interesting and well done without revealing too much of the direction of the main plot encouraging you to continue the series.
This series started with a bang! I was hooked after the first chapter of the first book, The inner circle, it has been an exciting and enjoyable read. Well thought out with great characters while never going overboard on the science. Great summer read! Look forward to completing the series.
The three arms have been created to save the human races. Who will be pick to be save? Will John and Colin be amount them? Will the earth end and only a few survive? Great story.
So much still has to happen before Clements impacts, and still so many loose ends that have not yet been resolved. Looking forward to getting the rest of this series
Okay, good cop, bad cop. I like the storyline. I like the idea that a Comet is coming towards Earth and only a select few know about it, I like the idea of have three ways out (four counting the Chinese which will somehow work its way in). (Now BAD cop) all through the book I was told the President was going to announce that the Comet was coming, and the book ended before that happened (WHAT?) means I don't like where the author ended book 4. also, there is a dirt poor high school kid who has a sports scholarship to attend snooty rich high school. His low life dad comes home one night drunk (as usual) but this night he has his face all bashed up, so the kid takes his dad to hospital, gets him all fixed up, brings him home and then the kid only gets about an hour of sleep and then has to go to school and pitch in a game that is attended by talent scouts. So of course he fails, they lose the game, then he is walking off with his best (loser) friend, and three of the snooty high school boys are jeering at him. so his uber rich friend starts a fight, they are all over him so poor boy has to step in and save his uber rich friend, and of course breaks his hand (yes, of course its his pitching hand) and then his uber rich friend drives them home, three deer run out in front of the car, they have an accident and car is demolished when it hits a tree. Uber rich friend panics because he consumed a six pack of beer during the game (poor boy didn't notice he was drunk after the game? really?) so uber rich convinces poor boy to take the blame, which he does, then uber rich boy goes home. the police come, they find a joint in the ash tray, so they take him to hospital to put hand in cast (he wont play ball again that year, and maybe not ever) and then to jail. police call his daddy, who is still out drinking until wee hours, then he goes to school next day, uber rich friend is missing, boy gets expelled from school, then cant go to public school because rich school wants tuition for the year before they give out his record. Now, I know this is fiction, but really? that seems like a little much in not even a 24 hour period for one fictional character to take. but the story was worth continuing, hopefully the author will put all pertinent details in the next book in the series.
Sorry, but I just don't like this book. I won't give it a one star because I've read worse. This book just absolutely bored me to death. So it takes like six books for the comet to strike? Do I want to read so many books of just PLANNING for a comet to strike? No, I don't. Just strike already!
I marked this book as finished. No, not because I finished the book, because I'm finished with the book. I'm like thirty percent through, and I just can't suffer through this anymore.
I think that Kevin George did put a lot of effort into writing this book. He's put a lot of effort into thinking through how the government would react, what measures would be taken, what would they do... That's a good point, and it did build suspense for the comet to strike, but I think a lot more action could have happened to build up that suspense.
Maybe the action came later. I don't know. I just can't read anymore.
While the storyline is still moderately interesting, it's just taking too long to get to the main act. The action is being delayed way too much. I still have one more free book left, so I'll keep going.
The slow drawn out story, the retelling of past character lives and the ever dragging out of the plot is monotonous. I feel that I could have read this book and skipped the earlier ones as so many details were repeated.
Kevin writes a potentially interesting story, but makes the common sci-fi author's mistake of putting in too much narration. When he does get around to action and dialogue the story picks up nicely, but much of the book is like an extended encyclopedia article explaining the very detailed world he is creating. Also the book is obviously a come-on for the rest of the series (which is why it's free). Even in such a book, one should wrap up enough elements of the story that the reader doesn't feel like he's been to a used car dealer and the salesman just went back to talk to his manager. Bob Mayer does a nice job of that. He makes you interested in visiting the character again. Cliffhangers, we're getting used to with all the good SF TV shows that the networks keep canceling. You build your audience for a series by making people care about your characters. Having finished the book, I can't remember any memorable characters two weeks later. As a speculation, the book is enjoyable. I kept waiting for someone I could really care about. I suspect the series will improve with each new book. I hope so.
