She was ordered to spy on the enemy, but when Tamryn wakes behind enemy lines, tied up and a captive of the sexiest elf she’s ever seen, far more than military secrets are at stake. Elves and faeries don’t get along. He’s big, brutal and as sexy as the seven hells. Bane’s kisses sear her lips and his caresses ignite a fire in her heart that won’t be denied.Bane has never met a faery he didn’t want to rip limb from limb, but Tamryn is proving to be the exception. Instead of secrets, he steals kisses from her lips and finds a passion that makes him burn. Elves don’t love, they own—but Bane may have to give his heart in the process.

Good read but very short. The story of Bane who is an elf. Tamryn is a fairy who is captured by Bane. He claims her as his own. The story is good and interesting but the shortness of it does not allow for too much plot build up. It also leaves you hanging somewhat about how the couple live after coming together in the elf world.
Wow, hot and sexy, and wild! Who knew two people from two different races and military sides could create such heat. Not just from magic, but instant, all-consuming, attraction for each other
Tamryn and Bane have been raised to think horrible things about the other. An Elf and a Faery don't have any reasons not to have disdain and hatred. Elves are horrible creatures that rape, murder, and mutilate their enemies. Faeries are small, winged, and all-together too happy creatures. Elven magic is strong and always available. Fae magic pulls from one element and is concentrated and not always there
Yet, Bane doesn't want to hurt the little female he found in his territory. And Tamryn is afraid, yes, but attracted to the big Elf. The attraction does them in, and they find they have more in common then they thought. Lucky for us, we are along for the sexy discovery!
She's a recaptured by the commander of the elf army. He's brutal with a reputation for being vicious to captives. So how come they develop feelings for each other?
Giving it 3 stars only because the sex scenes were written so well and I love a good bickering back and forth. But by the end I was like...umm wtf did I just read... I thought there'd be way more to the story. Like now that there's an alliance, they'd be sent out on a mission together or something and get to know each other and fight together, etc. But...she shows up as a "claimed" and he fucks her in front of everyone while she's supposed to be a badass spy...and then she screams out "I love you" when they spent like 2 days together fucking and hardly speaking...I truly don't even think this could be called an actual book. I think this could've had way more potential if given a good storyline but oh well. The sex was good sooo...
I wanted to read more! We always want more right? Loved it. Ive read Elf/fae romance before and this was a bit darker and grittier. Not too much. Just enough. Its a different world and nothing is roses. Its one against the other. Both sides have killed and tortured the other. However, when Bane finds Tamryn he's intrigued and definitely wants her but just to play with. Once these 2 give in to their passion they think its the end of it. Neither one realizes its more and are in major denial. Can these 2 sides find common ground? Or will they always be enemies. It was a very hot read. Yowza.
It's Mina Carter, suffice to say that I enjoyed it. The sex scenes are piping hot, primal and numerous. What can I say, it's a Carter thing. She does raunchy passionate affairs that usually gives me tingles.
But if you're looking for complex character dimensions and detailed world building this may not be for you. Ms. Carter is known for her short story style. The nitty gritty usually takes place over a series and not in one or two titles.
So yea, a solid 4 for this light fae and dark elf PNR.
When one read Mina Carter's book they know to expect a great fun story. Owned by the Elf a bit of sass, a lot of mass, huge Elf, hot faery. opposites do attracted even behind enemy lines.
I do love Mina's short hot reads. the word play between Tamyrn and Bane had me laughing. Instant love but yeah it worked, the oh so smart king of elves knowing more than Bane would give him credit for.
I loved the magic and how it was described, a few hot scenes makes this short story a good story. Enjoyed and recommend it.
Book was okay. It was not developed properly given the potential conflicts in the book. Totally unbelievable even for fantasy. They have sex a few times and that makes everything change and she falls in love with him in that day. Story has too much of a potential to leave it at this.
I'm sure i have the right book....this is exactly like the "Captured by the Orc" book, just with minimal changes... the story starts exactly when the previous woman got tied up by the orc and goes on from there, even the spicy scenes are the same.... I'm half way through it and i don't see much of a difference?!
It had great potential. It just needed some more story and not just sex. Maybe even just an epilogue...anything. I wish she would go back and add on to this story.
What a fun hot read! It entices the reader for more. More of the world woven in between the pages, more of the big strong elves and their enemies, more and more of the tension and desire it holds.
A short story that I have read several times through the years and still love. Impressed with the world building done in such short pages and the chemistry and connection between the characters was palpable from the start.
Last book I read for 2018. Incredibly steamy! And, delightfully, the characters stayed true to themselves, which is hard to do in just over 100 pages. I'd like to read more from this world one day.
Are we just gonna overlook the fact that this dude is clearly a rapist? And yeah, he 'loves' her, but he's still a rapist. It literally says it a few pages in. DNF so fast😡
I wouldn’t have never picked this book up, because it’s has a hint of fantasy and I’m not the biggest fan. But the synopsis caught my eye. I wish this book was longer, because I needed to know more about the this world. Great read!
this was just straight smut like that was it. do i have a problem with that? no but im not going to rate it as good smut cause it literally just wasn't lol.
