Basic Plot: Emmett, an average guy, becomes the special and saves the universe from the evil Lord business.

I am really beginning to HATE these adaptation books. This one in particular cuts ALL of the fun bits out of the story. There are no gags. There are no visual jokes. There isn't even any dialogue. These Discovery Kids books are utter crap for anything but dry recitation of fact. The reader for the Nook "read to me" version speaks at such a slow pace that I want to slap the guy. I can't handle this.

I LOVED the Lego movie. Loved it. This book is a travesty by comparison. I am giving it 2 stars instead of one because despite my loathing for the book, my son loves it, so there must be something about it that resonates in his brain that just doesn't work for me.

I found this to be an enjoyable short children’s story – featuring (as the title suggests) Lego characters.

I think this would help readers who don't particularly like reading. If they are interested in the Lego movie, they might choose to read this text.
