If there's someone who understands the emptiness of human existence and is able to put it into words, it is Nirmal Verma. All of his characters suffer from the same hollowness and love for beer that could almost combine them into a singular character. Despite being aware of never really being understood, they try and in their attempts they manage to speak out to the reader about their own fears and manage to endear you. He truly understands how to write plotless dramas. They are a truer reflection of reality than a story can ever be.
This is one of the very first stories of Nirmal I read. I was in complete awe of the beauty and richness in his writing. Later on I found out that this guy was very well travelled, and wrote many books and the beauty of Czech Republic and Prague you find in his stories will make you curious about the country/City. And you will surely want to travel the same. :)
