Nothing exciting happens in Tawny Taylor's life, unless you count giving the cat a flea dip--a cat can make some fascinating sounds when immersed chin-deep in insecticide--or chasing after a houseful of upchucking kids during flu season. She doesn't travel the world or employ a staff of personal servants. She's not even built like a runway model. She's just your run-of-the-mill, pleasantly plump Detroit suburban mom and wife.

Very Great Book

This was, hands up, an excellent read. My favourite one out of the series. I recommend this to anyone who loves to read romance.

**INTENDED FOR AN ADULT AUDIENCE**

My Thoughts: Well, we learned a little bit more about the “Black Griffons”, as well as Rin’s sister Lei. But I was hoping to learn more about this secret they protect. The action and intrigue level was much higher in this installment which made for a better story. The characters are still lacking, but are likeable. There is some steamy sex and some very mild BDSM. The pacing is good, the story is a one sitting read that I am hoping will tie up some of the loose ends in the next, and presumably, final installment. I guess I will just have to wait and see.

"Nether Lips"? "Swollen Tissue"? GAH! It's saying very little when the sex scenes are written better than the rest of this book!

Was there a prequel to this book that I don't know about? Character development is so very thin. I know the author was trying to build anticipation by keeping The Secret secret, but I was not on the edge of my seat--I don't think I was even sitting down.

Also, events taking place before the start of the novel are sketchy. Even clunky. That's what I call it when one character asks another, "Do you remember what happened this summer?" And the other responds, "My sister was kidnapped...." Really? That's the best way to introduce previous storyline?

I'd also like to know the likelihood of three gorgeous brothers all being doms, living together, sharing a dungeon/scene room, and lovers all while protecting The Secret.

GAH, I say, GAH!

Again I have read a second book without reading the first one. It was pretty easy to catch on, as each book focuses on a different couple.

I'm not sure what I really think about this book. I liked some parts and others just weren't doing it for me. But overall I enjoyed it enough to keep reading til the end.

2.5 stars. I have not read the first book in this series but it was easy enough to figure out. There are characters that are not necessary for this story. They add nothing to the story, but they could have. This should have been a home run book, but falls short by adding too much extra.
