رغم أنها الرواية الأولى للمؤلف، إلا أنها احتلت مكانة بارزة في الأدب الياباني بعد الحرب العالميّة الثانية مكرّسة مييورا واحدا من أشهر كتاب الرواية اليابانيّة المعاصرة.0

وتجمع الرواية بين خصوصيّة السيرة الذاتيّة التي يحاول الكاتب النأي بها عن نفسه وبين الاتّساع الثقافي الذي أصاب ذائقة جيل كامل من اليابانيين بعد الحرب، الأمر الأخير الذي عبّر عنه بلوغ أعداد مبيعاتها في اليابان إثر صدورها نحو المليون نسخة. يمكن عدّ كلّ فصل من الفصول الستّة لهذه الرواية قصّة متكاملة. ثمّة ميل واضح عند مييورا إلى تأليف لوحة كتابيّة مكتملة وتفصيليّة في كلّ فصل من فصول روايته. كأنّه بذلك ومع كلّ فصل جديد يرسم لوحة من منظور معيّن. تمنح منظوراته المتعدّدة في النهاية عالمه الروائيّ أبعادا مختلفة قد تفاجئ قرّاءه في بعض الأحيان.0

A novel comprised of six short stories, five of which are centered around the same family and their struggles to survive in post-World War II Japan with very little money.

At the core, it seems to be a love story between the un-named narrator and his young wife, Shino. The narrator struggles with his family history (two of his sisters committed suicide, his two brothers both disappeared without a trace, and his one surviving sister is disabled) that causes what he thinks is his "tainted blood."

It's very beautifully-written, and at times reminded me a lot of the haiku tradition. As always, it's hard to really be sure of what the original was like when a work has been translated, but it seems like the translator put a lot of work into keeping the novel powerful with the fewest words necessary--that's a relief after reading many wordy books that can't get to the point.

I was really thrown off by the inclusion of the sixth story, since the entire novel is in first-person and we're never once given the narrator's name. At first, I was confused because the name of his wife was different, and was worried that the couple I had grown attached to in the first six stories had somehow split up and the narrator had re-married... Not the case. Instead, it's a couple that has a very similar history. It was an interesting story, but it felt a bit awkward to footnote the novel with.

The novel was all the more interesting when I read the "about the author" spiel in the back of the book, and apparently the novel is semi-auto-biographical. Tesuo Miura also had four of his five siblings either commit suicide or disappear, like the narrator, and he considers writing to be his way of coping with his own "tainted blood."

السوداوية التي تلف هذا الكتاب جذابة جدا، إنه تماما النوع المفضل لدي فحين يتعلق الأمر بالموت لا أحد يكتب عنه أفضل من اليابانيين.
بطل الكتاب من عائلة انتحر أغلب أفرادها ولم يتبق إلا هو وشقيقته التي تعاني من مشاكل صحية واجتماعية جمة. فيحاول جاهدا أن يبعد نفسه عن ما ظن أنه لعنة تلاحقه كما لاحقت أخوته من قبله، فيشغل نفسه بزوجة، وعائلة، وأحلام ليثبت لنفسه جذورا في الحياة كهدف أساسي قبل أن يحقق أحلام والديه بالعيش معهما والحصول على أحفاد وهو ما عجز أخوته عن فعله، وما وضعه هو كإحدى مسؤولياته.
وفجأة ينتقل الكاتب لحكاية أخرى مختلفة تماما، وفيما قد يغضب هذا قراءا آخرين وجدت نفسي متفاجئة جدا بل وسعيدة كونه جاء بنهاية مختلفة عما توقعت (وهذا بالعادة ما أحب أن أفعله عند قراءة أي كتاب).
قبل أن أنسى هذه الأخرى كانت جميلة أيضا.

تقترب هذه الرواية من سيرة الكاتب نفسه الذي عاش تجربة مؤلمة فقد انتحر أربعة من أشقاءه مما يجعله يتيقن أن دمه موبوء وهذا الأمر انعكس على حياته ونفسيته وعلى أبطال روايته فالبطل لكي يتغلب على هذه المأساة حاول أن يعيش حياته بكل طبيعيتها يوطد علاقته بوالديه ليعوضهما عن الفقد الهائل وعن الخيانة التي تعرضا لها من قبل أشقاءه لقد اعتبرها كذلك
يتزوج وينجب ويعيش بالرغم من الفقر المدقع الذي عاش فيه
سير الرواية بارد ويخلو تقريبا من أحداث مهمة
الراوي رصد جوانب من حياة البطل في زوايا محددة من حياته وأفرد لها فصلا كذكرياته وهو طفل عن أشقاءه المنتحرين وهي ذكريات باهتة نوعا ما وفصل آخر لزواجه وهي قصة مملة حقيقة وفصل وهو يلتقي بوالده قبل أن يلفظ أنفاسه الأخيرة ولعله أكثر فصول
الرواية جمالا ومع أن الكاتب حرص على أن يكون لكل فصل خصوصيته فهو يعيد ويكرر الأحداث بشكل ممل إلا أن الفصل الأخير يكاد يكون كرواية أخرى لاعلاقة
لها بالفصول السابقة مما أوقعني في حيرة
لا يتركك الكاتب تعقد صلة صداقة مع شخصياته نتيجة لهذا التكرار الممل الذي لا يمكنني تفسيره فأنت تريد أن تقلب الصفحة وأنت تردد ألم تقل ذلك من قبل بالله مالحاجة إلى الإعادة !
أو لعلك ستصرخ فهمت وربي فهمت !

ربما ستسعد هذه الرواية القارىء الياباني لأن الكاتب تعرض للكثير من الخيبات التي يتعرض لها شاب في مقتبل حياته لكن لايوجد أكثر من ذلك
حتى العلاقة بين الزوجين كانت آلية وباردة لا توجد فيها أية أحداث تذكر والأنثى تبدو منصاعة بشكل مؤذي

عموما كانت تجربة لا بأس بها :)

Despite the plot summary being promising, this novel was quite disappointing and, personally, failed to deliver.
The novel is comprised of a series of chapters which are actually seperate short stories based around the memories of the book's narrator. To me, these chapters were disjointed and repetetive. There were many poignant scenes and the young marriage of the narrator was interesting but I felt as if they all built up to nothing and the final chapter's twist did nothing to impact the overall plot (to me).
Ultimately I enjoyed delving further into Japanese literature after sticking to writers such as Haruki Murakami and Banana Yoshimoto, but I felt Shame in the Blood did not really live up to the hype.

The marketing was over-egged with this one. The back of the book begins "Scarred by the death or disappearance of so many of his family, the unnamed narrator ... is tormented by the fear that his blood is cursed." Yeah? He read to me like a young man coping well with what life's thrown at him. Sensitive and quietly sad; very little hysteria.

The last of the six stories stands apart and concerns a different young man with experiences that seem very similar. I was left feeling that our lives would be almost exactly the same even if they were completely different.

"When the train pulled in, I had no trouble finding someone who looked like my second brother among the passengers who stepped out onto the platform. Chin buried deep in the collar of his overcoat, he came through the ticket gate blowing clouds of chilly white breath. As he approached us, I suddenly felt overcome by an odd emotion that I didn't fully understand, and simply turned my back on him. ... My brother could never remember me well, as I was changing so much each year, while my nanny had never met him and was entirely dependent on my hazy memory.
'He didn't come,' I muttered morosely, and felt truly disillusioned as I followed my brother, who had walked on ahead."

"For the first in my life, I wrote a long letter to one of my [very much older] brothers. It was the hardest piece of work I had ever done until then. My brother replied by return post: 'Don't be a fool. This is none of your business – I'll tell you about it when you're older. You would do better to concentrate on correcting your unmanly ways.' The letter was accompanied by a heavy parcel. I opened the parcel. I was a set of kendo fencing gear."

"Shame in the Blood" is a collection of six short stories by Tetsuo Miura that centred around relationships and family. Five of them are around a couple, the narrator and his partner Shino, in different moments of their relationship (or in one case, just about the narrator). The last story is about another couple, but it resembles much to the other five, even in a couple of situations that happen.

The book is nicely written (and correctly translated) and it is easy to read, but it is not especially original and it becomes a little bit repetitive, as every story walks again the same path as the ones before. We get an introduction to the narrator's and Shino's relationship so many times that you won't have a problem remembering who they are. On the other hand, there are little changes and different touches that bring a different perspective to the relationship (and how the author understood it when he wrote the stories). It all relates to the difficulties of having a relationship, of having good relationships with family and of poverty, the narrator having decided to concentrate in writing instead of finding a job (which reeks a little bit of auto-referencing), and the family not having enough money to feed. Also, for whoever is interested in Japanese culture it offers an interesting view of how familial relationships worked in the country (older brother, which jobs are respectable or not...).

The book is good enough and interesting, but also easily forgettable. Fun enough, especially for fans of Japanese literature.

استفتحت دخولي لعالم الادب الياباني بهذه الروايه فهذه اول رواية يابانيه اقرأها ,
يتحدث البطل وهو شاب في العشرين من عمره عن حياته والظروف الصعبه التي عاشها
فهو الاخ الاصغر لخمسة اخوه ولدان و3 فتيات , انتحرت اخته الكبرى فتلتها الاخت الاخرى
واختفى اخوه الاكبر والاخ الاخر سرق اموال اهله وهرب .
كل هذا جعل من بطلنا يظن ان دماء فاسده تربطه واخوته جميعا مما جعله يحارب تلك الدماء
التي تجري في عروقه و يشمئز من نفسه ويكرهها.

بداية الروايه كانت ممتعه حتى انني قيمتها باربعة نجوم ولكن حين دخلت للفصل الثاني
بدأت المتعه تقل تدريجيا فالكاتب اتخذ خطاً مملا في الكتابه
فهو يمسك كل فصل من فصول الكتاب ويبدأ به كقصه جديده
فأخذ يعيد بعض الاحداث وبنفس وجهة نظر البطل وهذا سبب لي الملل .

الشئ الذي اثار اهتمامي في الروايه هو الحاله النفسيه التي يتعرض لها اقرباء المنتحر
والعار الذي يصيبهم جراء انتحار احد اقربائهم ونظرة المجتمع الدونيه لهم
لم اكن اعرف بذلك من قبل او لأقل لم اكن افكر بحالهم قدر تفكيري بحالة المنتحر نفسه
لكن هذه الروايه سلطت الضوء على حالهم .

A multi-layered study of a marriage between our unnamed narrator and the love of his life, Shino. In a series of inter-related chapters we see their relationship develop, and also go back to the narrator's childhood and the trauma of losing two sisters to suicide, and two brothers who have disappeared. His feeling of being tainted - this shame in the blood - deeply affects his feelings for Shino and their decision whether or not to have children.

The final chapter is a bit of a jolt, introducing entirely new characters, a married couple and their daughter. It soon becomes apparent, however, that their story is meant to frame the preceding five chapters, and a wider view of love, marriage and parental responsibility finally shapes the entire book.

Beautifully written and, once you get your head round basically reading the same story over and over again, the reader can appreciate the subtleties of Miura's exploration of a marriage. It is quietly understated, and that is what gives the novel its strength.

Repetitive and lacking in style with an often maddening translation. The sixth story, unrelated to the other five, is the best, although I was a bit unsettled when the narrator briefly confessed to abusing his wife then changed the subject as if he'd never written it. While the first five stories are all related, there seems to be little focus and not much of a point to the cycle. And while I often relate to stories and novels about shame and self-loathing (and Japan has the BEST shame and self-loathing), it frequently seemed the narrator was simply whining.

this story, that's told through an anonymous narrator, is split into 6 stories. each story is a different time period in the narrator's life. the first and second chapter is about him and Shino, his wife. the third and fourth chapter is about his childhood, and his challenges as a child. the last two chapters are about his family and his daughter, Momoe.
This book is set in Japan. The title, shame in the blood, is the narrator being afraid to pass on his blood to further generations because he thinks his blood is cursed. he thinks his blood is cursed because his siblings have died prematurely (suicide), or is handicapped. He decides to have children when his father has died a natural death, it's of a illness because of old age.

I had quite enjoyed this book, and this only took me about 6 hours to read, which is amazing, because normal books, it probably takes me more than a few days to read. i would recommend this book to people who are into romance, and loves puzzles. i say "love puzzles" because the 6 separate stories all connect back together at the end.

6 stories, 5 of which are about the same family. At first, i didn't expect myself to read past page 2 since i am not fond of reading stories based on the earlier era,not too sure why though. However, i find myself immersed in the story when i flipped to the second page. I like how different stories talk about the different stage of the narrator's life. However, i was quite confused at the last story. What was it's purpose? I mean, it does seems weird because i was reading peacefully, and then there's this story about a completely different family. Don't get me wrong though, the last story was equally a delightful read. One of my favourite reads of 2011 definitely!

تعاطفتُ مع المؤلف كون ما مرّ به صعباً، فإنتحار 4 من أشقائه، ليس بالأمر الهيّن إطلاقاً. أحَسَّ بالعار أينما توجَّه.
وممّا صعّب الأمر عليه أكثر هو تأمُّل والديه فيه، علّقا عليه الآمال، وتحمّلَ مسؤولية ذلك.

زوجته "شينو" وقفت معه في الضّرّاء قبل السّرّاء.
أعجبتني جدّاً طيبتها، فقد كانت تحمل صفات الزّوجة المثالية. ولا أذكر أنّني لمحت موضع شكوى حول الفقر أو أياً كان من قبلها.

الرّواية جميلة، بل لا بأس بها، لـ طغي الملل عليها في أغلب الصّفحات، وليست قويّة مثلما يقولون.
وأيضاً لم أستسغ فكرة الجزء الثّاني من الكتاب، لا أرى داعياً لإقحام موضوع آخر بعيد كلّ البعد عن موضوع الجزء الأول، أحببتُ الأحداث فيه، لكنني لم أُحب جعل الكتاب مؤلفاً من روايتين.

تجربة لا بأس بها كانت لي مع الأدب الياباني.

أول قراءة لي في الأدب الياباني .. لم تعجبني كثيرًا بسبب عدم وجود تسلسل واضح في الأحداث فنجد في البداية يتحدث الكاتب عن مرحلة عمرية معينة من حياته ثم يقفز إلى أخرى وبعدها يعود إلى المرحلة القديمة .
أيضًا تكرار سرد بعض الأحداث بطريقة مملة.
وفي النهاية لم أفهم سبب إنهاء الجزء الأول من القصة والدخول في قصة أخرى مع شخصيات أخرى.
لا أعتقد أنني سأكرر القراءة في الأدب الياباني.

عكس مُعظم المُراجعات لهذا العمل الذاكرة أنه علاقتهم الأولى مع الأدب الياباني، تُعتبر ( عارٌ في السُلالة ) واحد من الأعمال الكثيرة في الأدب الياباني التي أحرص على قراءة كُل ما يندرج تحته.
وعلى غرار الكثير من الأعمال اليابانية الأُخرى، فإن مُثلث مُتصل الأضلاع يجب أن يُذكر ( الموت- الوِحدة - الكفاح من أجل العيش )

ميورا أبدع في الحديث عن الموت والانتحار من الجانب الذي لا يُذكر في الغالب
من جانب وجهة نظر المُحيطين بالشخص المنتحر.
أعمال عديدة مثل ( الغابة النرويجية ل موراكامي - لم يعد رجلاً ل دازاي ...) وغيرها الكثير
ذكرت الحالة النفسية للشخص المُنتحر
ذكرت مُعاناته ووحدته واستوحاشه العيش. لكنها لم تتطرق لمدى تأثر المجتمع المُحيط به
وهذا ما ناقشه ميروا في روايته هذه ( شينوبوجاوا )

ذكر كيف أن انتحار إخوته ألحق العار والخوف واستبدل خارطة حياته عدد لا نهائي من المرات ، يبعث على أسى دافئ
استمتعت بوجهة النظر الجديدة هذه
التي طالما كانت ببالي. مهما كانت وحدة الإنسان، فلا يُمكن تجريده من مسؤولية كونه واحد من مُجتمع يؤثر وجوده على من حوله مهما بلغ قِلة عددهم.

من حُبي للشعر الياباني وقصائد أوجورا المئة ، وقع نظري على عنوان الرواية باليابانية ( شينوبوجاوا ) و شينوبو هو اسم القصيدة رقم ٤٠ من قصائد أوجورا المئة ( شينوبريدو )
وتعني الإشتياق المؤلم

في الواقع اسم الرواية مأخوذ من اسم المقهى التي كانت تعمل فيه ( شينو ) زوجة البطل. لكني أُجزم أن لها معاني أُخرى تتعلق بالكاتب .

الرواية سيرة ذاتية لجزء من حياة الكاتب ، حُزء رقيق يدفعك للتفكر في الكثير من القرارات في حياتك. أحببت عزم الكاتب على المُضي في حياته كأنه اختار أن يعيش عُمره وعُمر إخوته. أحببت تصويره لإخوته بشكل رقيق لطيف على الرُغم مما حدث.
أُحب معرفة المزيد عن حياة الشقيق الأوسط من الأولاد. المُهندس الكيميائي. لكن أنَّى لي أن أعرف ما لا يعرفه الكاتب نفسه!

استمتعت بالقصة القصيرة الأخيرة . هي غير متصلة ببقية فصول الرواية، لكنها ممتعة بشكلها المُنفصل.

ومهما كان ما يُسرد في الأدب الياباني ، فإنه كالعادة، دوماً المُفضل لدي.

مُتحمسة لبدء كتاب جديد في غمار بحثي الدؤوب عن كل ما تم ترجمته من أعمال يابانية.

in my copy that I picked up from the wharf library, someone has penciled in one of the last pages:
"This is DV (domestic violence) you assholes"
speaking to the narrator's disturbed reactions as he grapples coming to terms with learning of his wife's rape that occurred before their marriage

Not sure how to render my impressions and feelings into a star rating but I do think this is a fine piece of literature, depressing and written with beautiful, honest prose. It is even more affecting to know Miura confronted his own life and family history in writing...

I believe there are images here that won't leave you, they are just that rich

She started to run down the hill. Startled, I wanted to shout out a warning, but found myself entranced at the sight of this woman as she made her way down the hill, her shawl fluttering from her neck, sleeves swaying wildly to right and left, and the hem of her kimono flapping violently as she ran. She ran like a woman who'd never worn a kimono in her life.
Don't run like that! What would happen if you fell? I thought, as I braced myself nervously in the middle of the bridge.

I came across Shame when it was described as an example of mid 20th century Japanese ‘Watakushi shosetsu’ or ‘I fiction.’ These are novels with a psychologically focused narrative by the main protagonist. Oftentimes there is an autobiographical element to it.

In the publisher’s note it was stated that Miura experienced the tragic deaths and/or betrayal of 4 of his siblings. This was a core element in Shame. As is the style of I fiction the focus is on the protagonist’s descriptions of the ways in which these tragedies affected his self image and esteem, his relationships with his parents and one surviving sibling, and his wife in the first years of their marriage. Such other issues as illness and death of aging parents living in the countryside and struggles to gain successful employment in Tokyo in post war Japan are also portrayed.

On the one hand, I agree that 5 of the 6 chapters provide ‘related and layered’ depictions of various elements and time periods each of which deepens the reader’s understanding of the protagonist. On the other hand, some of what is portrayed is redundant and thus becomes tedious. Additionally, the 6th chapter seems practically unrelated to the other five. It could well have been a short story on its own. Unfortunately, the translator provided no information via an introduction as to how or why that was the case. For example, was this novel published as separate pieces in serial fashion in a literary magazine?

The translation was lacking in another important respect: Japanese vocabulary for food, clothing, daily life utensils, etc was never translated. Neither were these explained in the context of the prose. If these terms were not going to be translated, why did the publisher not provide a glossary for the benefit of those readers not familiar with the language?

Altogether, IMHO this is a mediocre example of I fiction. Women Running in the Mountains or Territory of Light by Yuko Tsushima or A Shameful Life by Osamu Daisetsu are more satisfying samples of this genre published in mid 20th century. Early 20th century prototypes would be The Broken Commandment by Toson Shimazaki, The Quilt by Tayama Katai, or Kokoro by Natsume Soseki.

As Shame is the only one of Miura’s novels that has been translated into English I cannot read another one for comparison purposes. Thus, I am unfortunately left with this less than stellar impression of his work.

الفصل الأخير من الرواية دخيل كأن الكاتب زهق و قرر يكتب قصة جديدة من غير ما يحط النقط ع الحروف للقصة القديمة..

عار على السلالة لما قرأت الاسم توقعت عن شخص يخالف أسرته مثلا في قيمهم أو طريقهم في الحياة..
خيالي لم يذهب أبدا لفكرة الانتحار و ما يلحق بأهل المنتحر من عار..
بعضنا يظن أن الحزن و الفقد و الذنب هو ما سيصيب أهله بعد رحيله..العار منظور جديد
و شعور العار و الخزي و المذلة منتشر في ثقافة اليابانين دايما أقرأ أن فعل أو سلوك معين أو فشل هيسبب لهم و لأهلهم العار..
البطل حاول يفلت من هذا العار بأن يعيش يناقض مصير أخوته و يعيش في الدنيا و يرضى بملذاتها البسيطة و يقع في الحب..
و الكاتب ركز على البطل بشكل كبير و ظل يعيد قصته مرار و تكرارا لدرجة إن كل الشخصيات الأخرى كانت هامشية و ضبابية و ناقصة قصتهم هل دي نقطة قوة أو ضعف يعني بتسليط الضوء عليه وحده على خشبة المسرح بيخدم فكرة معينة؟

في عبارة في نهاية قصته الأولى:
"هيا نستعيد ما كنا نشعر به حين ذاك هيا نبدأ من جديد"

أما قصته الثانية ففيها و لكن لا يمكننا أن نبدأ أبدا من جديد و هذا الرابط الوحيد اللي وجدته بين القصتين قصة شخص يحاول أن يفلت من العار و قصة آخر ملفوف لا يزال به..

هذه الرواية تستحق وبجدارة الخمسة نجوم.. تفاصيلها واضحة ومتدرجة بسلاسة وبساطة، كما لو أن شخصاً يحكي لك قصة حدثت معه بتفاصيلها وبكل وضوح..
الوصف دقيق وجميل ويرسم لوحات في مخيلتك مع كل سطر..
الفصل الذي كان بعنوان "وجه الموت" حزين ومؤلم، أبكتني سطوره جداً، فطريقة وصفه وشرحه لأدق التفاصيل واضح ويوصل مدى الألم والوجع والحالة التي عاشها الجميع في لحظة موت الوالد، ويجعلك تعيش الألم معهم، ويعتصرك مع كل سطر حتى تجد نفسك مجبراً على البكاء مع نهايته..
الفصل الأخير من الرواية كان غريباً بعض الشيء، فقد شعرت بأنني لم أعرف إن كانت قصة جديدة أو أنه يحكي عن ذات الشخصيات؟
إلا أنها كذلك سواء كانت قصة جديدة أو تكملة للأحداث فقد كانت جميلة..
تسلسل الأحداث الموزع بطريقة مبعثرة جميل، ويجبرك على استرجاع كل التداعيات، ومع ذلك يعيد الكاتب سرد التفاصيل المهمة مع بداية كل فصل حتى لا ينسى القارئ أهمها، إلا أن الإعادة ليست مضرّة ولا تشعرك بالتكرار الرتيب..
جميلة جداً والقصة رائعة والسرد غني والرسم والوصف عظيم!

إن تعريف هذا العمل غعلى أنه مجموعة من القصص القصيرة يقلل من قيمته الفنية لأبعد الحدود . أنا أفضل أن يكون الموضوع رواية من خمسة فصول تحكي عن نفس القصة ويمكن أن تقرأ كل فصل بشكل مستقل عن غبيره . أما الفصل السادس فهو المنفصل عن كل الحبكة لسبب قد نفهمه أو نلفهمه إلا أنه خيار الكاتب على كل الأحوال .
من بين أدب اليابان بعدد الوايات البسيط الذي اطلعت عليه أرى لهذا العمل تميزا من نوع ما . الشخصيات فيه تبدي الحد الأدنى من الرغبة فيالحياة . شيء في هذا العمل يجعل شخصياته أكثر حيوية وإن كانت الأحداث ليست بذاك المستوى من الحبك والتعقيد . ومع ذلك فإنه لا يمكن إغفال الأثر الذي يشكله الموت في أعماق الثقافة اليبانية . فصل كامل خصصه الكتب لموت الأب مستغرقا في كل تفصيلة منه . اللغة المقتصد المباشرة والتي تخلو من أي تحليل عميق لعواطف الشخصيات وانطباعاتها مؤلمة . . إن وصف الألم العميق بلغة ميكانيكية مجردة من المشاعر يجعل لها أثرا أكبر في النفس .

الرواية سوداويه واللي مايحب يقرا هاللون لا يفكر يقراها..
اجمل ما في العمل اني قريت شي يديد.. عادة الروايات ماتركز الا على جانب واحد فقط لو كان مقصدها الانتحار.. في هذي الروايه راح نشوف جانب اخر كنه غافلين عنه.. جانب الناس ونظرتهم للشخص نفسه اذا كانوا عايلته كلهم انتحروا.. كيف ممكن يعاملونه من معامله؟؟
الجانب اللي نهائياً ما حبيته الفصل الاخير..
انا ارفض رفض تام النهايات المفتوحه..
لكن للاسف في هالكتاب راح تلقون شغلتين
اول شغله نهاية الفصل ما قبل الاخير مفتوحه، ومبهمة!
ثاني شي الفصل الاخير اللي من خلاله نتعرف على روايه ثانيه مختلفه كليا عن كل الفصول الاولى..!
حسيت ان الكاتب ماعرف ينهي الكتاب.. ولان القصه حقيقيه فالنهايه غالبا غير مُنتهيه لذلك بدل ما يخليه بلا نهايه.. قرر ان يكتب فصل اخير ماله علاقه ابدا في الروايه!!
وهالشغلتين خلوني انزل التقييم نجمتين.. حرق قلبي قهههر😭

Shinobugawa ("Shame in the Blood") by Miura Tetsuo describes the pure love of an impoverished couple brought together by their tragic pasts.

This semi-autobiographical set of linked short stories is considered as one of the finest love stories in modern Japanese literature. Shinobugawa tells the charming tale of the narrator, known only as "I," a student at a university in Tokyo, and Shino, a young woman who works at a restaurant, Shinobugawa, near his dormitory. The narrator, the youngest of six children, has seen two of his brothers run away and two sisters commit suicide, while his remaining sister is physically disabled. Tormented by fears that his family's blood is "cursed," he nonetheless decides to affirm life and take responsibility for his family.

عار في السلالة عندما اخترت هذه الرواية كرواية للأدب الياباني الذي أنا فضولية جدا نحوه.
اعتقدت أن الموضوع يتحدث عن المرأة فقادني تفكيري في رغبة كيف يفكر اليابانيون نحو العار.
ولكن الرواية كانت بعيدة كل البعد عن تواقعاتي السطيحة حيث ارتبط في عقلنا العربي المسطح أن أي عار فهو تابع للمرأة و يخص المرأة ولكن هنا الكاتب يعطيك وجهة النظر اليابانية نحو العار و ماهو العار عند اليابانيين، أحببتها كثيرا رغم أن بها الكثير من التكرار مثل المسلسل الذي يعيد تذكيرك بقصة الحلقة السابقة و لكن يعجبني الأسلوب المختلف و تستمتع جدا بمختلف الأساليب و الاداب.

One thing this book is not is "a novel" (despite it being promoted as such even on the front cover). Instead it consists of six short stories, five of which are interconnected. The inclusion of the sixth one (while also very good) is a mystery to me. Perhaps they just needed to fill more pages.

Aside from this seriously bizarre marketing choice, I really enjoyed both the writing and also the characters in the book.

Six loosely connected stories about a poor college student and his girlfriend/wife. He is obsessed by his "bad blood" which has cursed his family with suicide and deaths for many years.
Shino, the wife, is poorly characterized and the stories are not obviously connected, but blood, in many forms is ever-present.

الكتاب عبارة عن مزج بين الرواية والسيرة الذاتية فى مجموعه من القصص القصيرة بيوضح فيها التوسع الثقافي لجيل كامل من اليابانين بعد الحرب فى مجموعه قصصية قصيرة وقد أية الحياة اليابانيه رتيبة جدا ... رتيبة جداً بالمعني الحرفى للكلمة
لا يوجد اخطاء صغيرة فى اليابان ..كل الاخطاء كبيرة ومحسوبة

أن يشعر المرء طوال حياته بالخزي والعار من لوثة الموت والنهايات المؤسفة ومع ذلك يفعل مايخافه ويخالف واقع العائلة البائس. الأمل الذي يغلب اليأس والخوف..
حياة عادية كانت رغبة البطل وقد تحقق له ذلك.
رواية تثير شيء من الكآبة في النفس رغم انسانيتها
